  • "We arrived at Tyddn on a very hot Saturday evening, it looked exactly as it did in the pictures from the outside."

Inside was spotlessly clean, everything you could need was in there.. again very clean. There was even a delicious Welsh Bara Brith waiting for us! The beds were really comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, the living room comfortable and the garden perfect and completely enclosed for our dog. We visited Barmouth and Harlech beach, both 10 mins away.. went to Porthmadog 25 mins away.. and some beautiful waterfalls nearby. We all had an amazing week, we actually managed to pick the hottest week on record to holiday... so all in all, the perfect holiday for us! We would absolutely come back to Tyddn. Thank you

  • "Tyddyn is an absolute gem!"

On arrival we were greeted with a with a complimentary bottle of wine and my favourite Welsh cake. The personal touches were evident everywhere. Even dog bowls and blankets were supplied as we had specified that we were bringing a pet. The garden is secure and dog friendly. In fact everything about the house was perfect! It was clean and tidy and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location has views across the bay, ideal for watching the amazing sunsets, and central for visiting the North Wales coast. I have stopped at many locations in the area and I can honestly say that this is the best I have experienced. I literally cannot fault Tyddyn at all. I will definitely book again.

Many walks for the dogs very close to the cottage. The garden was very dog friendly and very safe. The cottage itself was homely and exactly as described. We would certainly return - to the cottage - another year.

  • "This property was an absolute delight to stay in."

In particular the views from the kitchen at sunset looking out over the sea with the mountains backdropped behind was breath taking. The garden is perfect for the dog, the cottage itself is charming. Great location for planning day trips along the coast or into Snowdonia. Worth mentioning that the internet was almost non-functioning so be sure to have your own 4G if that is important to you. Impossible for that to detract from such a wonderful location and stay.

Thank you for your feedback, and we are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. The owner has confirmed that the internet connection is working fine, and the current guests have confirmed that there are no issues, however we are sorry if you experienced any issues. Thank you again for your comments. Property Owner

  • "We have had a lovely stay and thank the owners for making the house so clean and comfortable."

The wine and home made cake were a lovely gesture. The cottage is in a great location with several beautiful beaches on your doorstep, great for walking the dogs on at this time of year. You also have Snowdonia National Park to venture around so the best of both Worlds. Recommend the beach at sunset for the magnificent views. The house is immaculate with an enclosed garden, so we felt safe letting our dogs roam outside. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and gadgets. There is a kitchen table and a more formal dining area. The living room is comfortable and there is wi-fi. There are 4 bedrooms, 2 doubles and 2 singles and a bathroom. All in all a great, relaxing and very peaceful stay with very helpful owners.

A very delicious home made fruit cake and bottle of wine was a lovely gesture. Beautiful area, quiet and very relaxing.Garden is safe for dogs. Very friendy owners . Our only concern for our family was we had an elderly relative and the stairs are very steep which isnt in the description. I dont think the house is suitable for the elderly or anyone with mobility difficulties. Also shower and bath difficult. Would benefit from a walk in shower cubicle.

  • "It was advertised as having a pub within a 2 minute walk which, as our party includes a disabled person who can't walk far, was one of the main reasons for booking this property."

However, this pub was permanently closed and has been for many months but I notice that the property information has not changed. However, the cottage was lovely.

  • "Beautiful property with stunning views, we had a great time and would definitely return."

The beach is a lovely walk away about 30 to 40 minutes depending on your pace, or you can just drive 5 mins to Llanddwywe and take the turning down to the Dyffryn caravan site/ Benar beach where there is a car park for £3 for the day and some free roadside parking, and also public toilets. The beaches run along the whole coastline, so plenty of space, and dogs are allowed. Just a few small things about the property; There was no information on local things to do or directions on how to get to the beach, which would of been helpful. The garden is nice and secure for dogs however if you have a large dog who likes to jump they could jump the back wall, ours did! The curtains in bedroom are not black out or thick enough to block out any light so if you like a lie in you may struggle. It would be great to have a few more dishwasher tablets and toilet rolls, so it might be best to pack a few extra. Overall a great, clean property with amazing views in a fabulous location. There are plenty of amazing walks just a short drive away, and loads of great beaches. We loved our stay in Dyffryn Ardudwy and its surrounding area.

Everything you could possibly need was provided and the beds were so comfy together with the private and secluded garden which was so lovely to sit and relax in with the dog able to run around with no fear of escaping. How nice to wake up and see the farm animals in the fields and see them close up through the kitchen window . The position of the farmhouse is ideal with Barmouth and Harlech so close by car and a shop in walking distance with a superb butchers that was so handy when spending a day indoors. All in all we had a wonderful relaxing time and would definitely recommend to family and friends.

The kitchen is spacious and well equipped and the stable door from there out into the garden was a great access and egress for our two dogs. The garden was ideal for us enclosed and safe for the dogs to explore. The garden furniture was great especially the bench by the backdoor which was a real sun trap. There was plenty of space upstairs all the bedrooms nicely decorated clean and bright. As there was only two of us so we used the bedroom over the kitchen which had fantastic views towards the beach and lots of sunlight. There is an easy walk to the beach which is so expansive and beautiful and plenty of hill walks above Harlech and Nantcol. All in all an excellent cottage would recommend.

It was clean and had plenty of facilities, especially in the kitchen, most of which we didn't use, but nice to know they were there if we had wanted to. It was a 20 minute walk to the local beach or 5 minutes in the car. The local railway station was only a 10 minute walk away. Couldn't have suited us better as there is so much to see around the area and the train rides were great, along the sea's edge. We had a fantastic week. The only drawback for us was that there was only one toilet, which was in the bathroom, upstairs, so it was difficult at times with 4 adults and 2 children, but, by the end of the week, we had some sort of routine!!!!! Would strongly recommend the cottage and were impressed by Sykes Cottages Ltd, for their communications and the handling of the holiday booking.

Also, there is only one toilet and it's quite inconvenient as it's in the bathroom so if someone's in there you have to wait. There is room for an ensuite or downstairs wc and I did mention this to the owners last year. Also I mentioned that the oven door didntclose properly and it still doesn't. The soft furnishings need replacing as the cushions are like wafers as they were last year and so are the pillows. Also the bathroom mats are worn and tatty. The house is lovely and is peaceful and yet near to amenities. We love it but will be looking for somewhere with downstairs facilities.Tyddyn now has a resurfaced drive which is great but a little more needs spending inside.
