Such a friendly comfortable place that was so peaceful especially for nature lovers. It was great to meet all the pets from Lilly the dog, the cats, ducks, chickens, geese and Guinea fowl. Many thanks for the lovely fresh goose, duck and chicken eggs, butter and cider. We would highly recommend a stay here and we plan to come back. Also we recommend visits to The Big Pit, Botanic Gardens and Picton Castle and If you like walking, pop in to Abergorlech for a walk up and through the forest where there are three walks from easy to more challenging.

The cottage is tastefully furnished and extremely well equipped. We received a wonderful welcome from the owner and her dog Lily, and the freshly laid eggs were delicious! The view from the decking at the rear of the property is stunning and also offers the opportunity to watch the red kites and the Redstart nesting next door. We absolutely loved it and we will definitely be going again.

As older guests, we found negotiating all the ruts and potholes very uncomfortable, and were even put off going out by the thought of it. I think it is only fair that an accurate description is put in the details.

  • "Instructions on location were awful, used sat nav and google maps ,but the owner agreed when given copies of Sykes printout that it was bad."

Apparently when my son found me I should have used Google Earth or the map cordinates which is more precise .But I was not told that. The reason I could not stay was no mobile phone reception. My son did a test and found strength was extremely low. Being old and alone I felt afraid to be in such a remote place with no contact. So I came home. Better directions and tell people no mobile phone reception !!

The guest has raised the issue with us the day he arrived on Sunday 3rd October & I said I would be able to contact Dyfed Telecom the next day when their offices were open. However the guest decided to leave on 4th October & unfortunately only told us of his decision once he had left. We have spent in excess of £1000 installing a satellite internet/phone system in our cottages which we have recently acquired. The issue was with EE & the mast that they use which needed repairs and was out of our control. I did contact the guest & ask him if his son could forward me the details of the test to pass on but I received no reply. The fault has been reported & can be rectified. I would like to point out that under normal circumstances both phone & internet coverage is good. We feel saddened that the guest could not remain longer & enjoy Golwg Las.
