  • "I was very impressed from the start, this little cottage is beautiful and very cosy."

It does accommodate 4 people but I think it's more suited for 2, 3 max. One thing I missed was a washing machine since we stayed for a week and with a child and a dog we were constantly muddy. And even washing by hand I struggled to find a place to hang our clothes. That is in my opinion the only downfall. It could've also been cleaner.. but that wasn't an issue since I always clean beforehand anyway. Overall we were very happy with the cottage and with the little things that show the owners care, for instance there were loads of entertainment (books, games etc) and a handwritten note of places to visit around the area. The extra bathroom was thoughtful but we didn't use it, the space could've been used as a laundry room. My dog loved the patio, he's a funny one because he doesn't like being wet and it was raining throughout our stay so being able to go quickly for a potty was brilliant. I am very happy with sykecottages services and will for sure book more holidays. Thank you very much

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Honeysuckle Cottage we enjoyed the Patio and the cottage was very clean the only downside was the front room which was small and very dark but realise that the privacy hedge contributes to that."

the area we explored was brilliant and we spent a lot of time watching the Red kites, it would help if the Television in the front room worked better as it kept freezing but we did not worry but your next tenants might be thankyou for the stay and we cannot wait to come back again

Thank you for the feedback. The private patio is a sun trap and so i'm glad you benefited from the good weather. the living room is on the opposite side of the patio and so does not get as much sunshine. Yes we do have path way with a hedge outside the living room which is for your privacy. So unfortunately we cannot do anything about this and this is in the countryside. Glad you enjoyed the location and surrounding area. We look forward to seeing you again Ellie Property Owner

  • "Beautiful cottage with everything you need for a peaceful getaway."

The dog was able to come in and out as he pleased as the back decking area was secure and safe. We found the only downfalls which was our own fault for not doing enough research was, no walk routes for the dog unless you walked on the road which was quit dangerous and no local amenities without the need to drive but overall a very nice break.

Thank you for the feedback, we do supply an area map and on there is a footpath from the site away from the road. We use this for our own dog Riley . The cottage is in the country side and located near a well stocked garage, but the local town has all the amenities you can should need. We do supply a list of places to visit. We look forward to you visiting the area soon Ellie Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed out week at Honeysuckle Cottage."

It has everything you need and is a good location to start from when getting out and about. The enclosed decked area is a wonderful sun trap. However, the seating area indoors might be a bit small if you are likely to be spending a lot of time inside. The shower and hot water supply were good . Parking was good . We took two dogs with us and they are used to going to the toilet on grass so we had to take them out for frequent walks . There is a track opposite the main entrance to the site that is public right of way which is ideal. If you get a chance visit the WildOak Cafe in Llanidloes. Lovely and dog friendly

Thank You for the feedback we are please you enjoyed the sunny patio area . The cottage has two bedrooms (single and double) and two bathrooms, one living room and one kitchen. We are glad you enjoyed the area and your stay As owners we have invested and upgraded the property with new central heating, double glazing windows, redecorated throughout and we are extremely pleased with the standard of cleanliness our cleaner is completing the cottages are maintained. • "Recently updated semi detached bungalow so clean."

Based on a small mobile home site, away from the main road .Kitchen equipment good, bit dark in living room but had nice sunny enclosed (no view) patio area. Enjoyed stay.

Thank You for the feedback, the cottage is designed to have maximum sunshine on the patio area which is accessed from the kitchen at the back of the cottage. Unfortunately we cannot control the sunshine and so in any property you will have rooms which are darker than others . The cottage has had new windows installed and these provide further light. This is a country pack so you do have trees and shrubs which can block the light in the living room, but this room is for watch television and resting. Property Owner

  • "I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday with my two dogs Jack the black Lab and Ben the little Jack Russel."

It was so lovely and relaxing to find you had left the heating on low and it was such a treat to walk into a cosy warm cottage it made me feel at home straight away. I had two "senior moments" on my stay and the owners came straight away (even though they do not live near the cottage) to try to sort out what was in the end a non existant problem? They were very sweet about it and made me feel comfortable and able to enjoy my holiday as I felt quite silly at the time so thank you again. The welcome box was lovely I loved the quality biscuits and my dogs enjoyed their treats and ball which was useful as Jack loses so many. There were so many places to take my dogs for their run which excited them so much and I found a lovely little cafe in Rhayader who let me take my dogs inside. It was nice to be able to park my car so close so I didn't have to carry my luggage far. Everyone (and I mean everyone) I met or passed by on my days out were so friendly it was really very pleasant. I didn't really need to take food as there was an Aldi and a Tesco virtually on the doorstep plus a local shop for odds and ends. Book it you won't be disappointed.

Thank You for the feedback and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We try our best to make the cottages comfortable for all visitors and it was lovely to meet you during your stay. Thank you again Property Owner

  • "We found the lounge and bedroom very dark and had to have the light on all the time."

This was because of overhanging trees and bushes otherwise it was ok.

Thank you Rosemary for your feedback The cottages have a south facing back decked area and so the light does come from the back of the building. The shrubs and trees are at the front of the building where the lounge and one of the bedrooms . these trees are cut back but as this is the country side we do have to respect the wildlife and landscape of the park and what makes this area a beautiful scenic part of wales . As the decked area and kitchen, and other bedroom is at the back where no trees over hang you get the maximum daylight at the back and it is very sheltered if you wish to sit out of an evening. We are sorry you found the cottage dark at the front, but we cannot change the orientation of the property. However we will cut the shrubs and trees further back in the late autumn. thank you for your feedback Property Owner

  • "Great week away The caravan park was quiet, cottage was clean with everything you'd expect."

The stone Chef you look for on the entrance to the park is alot smaller than you think he's going to be but we still found him. The welcome packs were an added bonus. It might be worth noting that to get to the second bedroom you have to walk through the main bedroom slightly, same for the toilet/shower area. This wasn't an issue for us but maybe worth taking note depending who you're staying with. Park is a small smattering of caravans and cottages and has no form of shop onsite, the nearest one we found was a Texaco garage (we drove as its down the main road) that had a shop inside and a cafe attached to it (though we didn't get around to eating here). The town centre is only a 10 minute drive with an aldi and tesco. We found plenty of free parking around town and the big lake became a favourite evening walk, it had a kids play park nexto it with activities available in the day such as outside large chess and mini golf. The caravan park was a decent base to enjoy the various walking routes around Wales ( we enjoyed the walk with a duck on the signpost the most I don't recall it's name, some kind of nature reserve ), you could go as far or as little as possible. If you want a visit to the coast its about an hour away, we went to aberystwyth with an ample coastal town to look around but there isn't any sand only stones and the sea quality was registered as poor. We found Aberdyfi beach a better beach with better sand, smaller town strip but still plenty of places for fish and chips, pub dinner, ice cream ect.. A trip to the Silver Mining experience was a good day out, we took a picnic and booked a tour for our 6 year old and he loved it ! The lady stayed in character throughout even with a group of kids firing questions at her lol then after the tour you're free to stay and have a look around the grounds. Many thanks for an enjoyable holiday

Thank you for your feedback, we do our best to please all our visitors to the cottage. So pleased you explored the area and gave an incite to places to visit. The cottages are in the north of the brecon beacons, south of the shropshire hills and so always beautiful countryside and peaceful. Ideal for a little adventure The accommodation is advertised as a double and single ideal for a family. We do on request have the option for the use of the sofa bed and so can accommodate two couples with the addition of the single room. Apologies if this was not clear Thank you again and hopefully see you soon Property Owner

  • "It is a small property only really suitable for a couple or with small child, as access to the second bedroom is through the main bedroom."

It was adequate for our needs as we only stayed a week. It is very centrally situated for exploring the area. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Thank You we are glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. The cottage is advertised for 3 people (1 double bedroom and 1 single). We do have a sofa bed (in addition to these rooms) if two doubles were required? and these three rooms are all separate rooms. We currently advertise with one bathroom, but two bathrooms are available (on request). We believe the size of the property is adequate with separate kitchen, living room, two bedrooms and bathroom. In addition we have a fenced garden which has patio set and has access only from from the back door of the cottages. Overall we apologies if we feel the cottage is small, but the property is advertised as 2 bedroom and this is reflected in the price of the rental for the week (which is very reasonable for the central location). Thank you for your feedback but we cannot do anything about the size of the property on provide an accurate description of the property Property Owner

  • "On arrival place dirty and unprepared."

Our fault apparently for arriving 30 minutes early. A window of between 10am &4pm for cleaning was part of instructions, clearly not adhered to. We were still there at beyond 4pm. Had to make alternative arrangements for two nights as no contact available. When requested compensation for the two nights told nothing doing. Very disappointed both with the lack of help and refusal of compensation. We are both in our 70’s and had travelled for five hours to be there. Totally unable therefore to be able to recommend either the cottage or Sykes services.
