  • "Let’s face it, this place isn’t the Ritz, but it is absolutely fine."

It could do with a refresh as it’s all a bit dated, but it is clear from the pictures what you are getting. The location is cracking, and it has everything you need. TV with fire stick is spot on as well. Secure bike storage was welcome. A great little place for a bargain price

Thanks so much for your review. I have provided everything for a pleasant holiday I think... Should the weather let you down I have set up in - house entertainment with Fast Internet.. Smart TVs... Chromecast... CD player... etc... This is a fine Victorian property still with original features.. I have maintained that period feel to the apartment as it is a time that I think was great.. and I don't want to erase it with the bland modern style of today.... Please don't call it 'dated'.. It's my choice. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Regards Pete Property Owner

  • "I had not grasped the scale of the steps - uneven slate and particularly dangerous when being pulled down by a dog."

No need for a gym. Property bijou but fine, though hall a little narrow when the dog permanently blocks it. Corris a lovely village. Pub and cafe well worth visiting. Also the steam railway and the Italian 'village'.

Many thanks for your comments. We do try to be as transparent as possible with information about the steps, mentioning them in both the advert bullet point and showing them on the advert picture along with a picture of the hall so guests can see them before booking our property and we are sorry if the layout didn't suit you on this occasion. We're pleased you enjoyed Corris and the lovely local sightseeing. Thank you the top cleanliness and comfort scores, much appreciated. Property Owner

  • "The positives of the property are the location (close to the village and close to the National Park), space (bedroom and lounge), and the parking."

Also the communication with Peter was good. The things that can be improved are cleanliness (there was a surplus of animal fur, and everything was very dusty) and it gets damp quickly.

Quiet and peaceful. Owner very helpful, friendly and prompt to respond to any quires you may have. The 40 steps to the premises from the parking place would be a challenge for people who are less physically fit.

  • "Having arrived at this property we found it to be dirty and infested with woodlice, spiders millipedes."

There were lots of dead woodlice especially in the wine glasses, spiders in almost every corner of every room, and millipedes both in the living room and in the bedroom. We couldn't even stay a night. You would have thought that hygiene and cleanliness would have been a higher priority coming out of the Covid-19 lockdown. Since raising this with Sykes Cottages I have had to call and email numerous times and am yet to be provided with any kind of solution. I would not recommend.

Thank you for providing feedback for 1 Isygraig. We're shocked and sorry you felt the property was not up to your standards. We understand that upon arrival you left the property after one hour without notifying Sykes Cottages or the owners, despite having contact details for both. Please understand if there are any problems you wish to be rectified we are more than happy to assist. Even though no party has been given a chance to fix any of the issues you felt need addressing, we understand compensation has been offered back to you. Property Owner

The bed was comfortable (such an important factor when away from your own) and there was plenty of cupboard & drawer space. In addition, a multiplicity of sockets, a quality TV & WiFi that was efficient. The owners have excelled themselves in so many ways and we appreciated their efforts. I think that people need to be aware when booking that there is another apartment above which can mean small children running around letting off steam. We have grandchildren so it didn't bother us but others guests might not feel the same. Corris is a delightful little village set in a stunning and unspoilt part of Wales. We loved it all and will return!
