  • "An almost perfect cottage, the only thing it would need to make it perfect would be to update the bathroom."

Thank you for your feedback. Noted and taken on board your feedback regarding the bathroom. Updating the bathroom in this cottage is on our plan for next winter when the cottage is quieter. We look forward to this upgrade as feel it would improve the already beautiful cottage to a higher level. Hopefully you can then visit again once the improvement has been carried out. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was a wonderful little retreat that was welcoming and very clean."

It had lots of amenities and a helpful folder containing information about the local area and walks. The cottage is set amongst breathtaking scenery and walking out of your front door to a view of the mountains every day was very special. We particularly enjoyed snuggling down in the evenings in the cosy living room, with the log burner roaring. The hosts were very friendly and quick to respond to messages. I would highly recommend a stay in Tegid if you are looking for a peaceful break away.

Thank you for your great feedback on your stay at our Tegid Cottage here at Cyffdy Cottages. The views from the cottage are spectacular and we are very lucky to be situated in such a great location. We hope to see you back to stay again soon. Property Owner

Really lovely spot and lots to do. Cottage was excellent with full amenities. The two single beds in the second room were a little close together, but good if you've got kids.

  • "The soft furnishings need replacing as they are tired and not very comfortable."

There is a long standing leak in the bathroom also the tap in the washbasin is falling off.I would say that we would have liked a more hands on approach from the owners as we were told if we had any query to contact them by phone even though their house was just across the courtyard.

Hi Mr Beddard, thank you for your feedback. We have now addressed the issue with the tap and also tried to make the sofa's more comfortable, however we have not had any complaints in regards to them being uncomfortable before. With regards to the contact by phone, yes we live across the road but due to us still being in a pandemic and us having a young family we try to limit contact with our guests in order to keep our family safe. We hope you understand this and hope you enjoyed your stay. Kind Regards Stacy. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful, well equipped cottage in an idyllic country setting."

It was far enough away off the beaten track, so no traffic noise, just the lambs bleating and bird song. Our hosts Stephanie and Stacy were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of local information on places to visit, including a book on beautiful walks nearby. Bala is closeby with a lovely lake and watersports, shops and restaurants. Also impressed that Coeliacs are catered for in Bala. Harlech castle and Portmeirion within easy travelling distance. Would thoroughly recommend.

  • "Amazing! We would highly recommend this cottage."

The cottage itself has absolutely everything you could want - it's a home from home. The owners couldn't have been more helpful, and they have thought of everything to give a perfect experience. The cottage was spotlesslly clean on arrival and everything you see in the description is exactly as described and infact exceeded our expectations, especially the brand new kitchen and fresh decor. The area itself is so quiet and tranquil, and yet within a few minutes drive of local amenities, and within an hour of beautiful seaside towns including Barmouth. We will have no hesitation in going back to this property - thank you for a wonderful experience.

  • "Beautiful cottage."

Booked for partners birthday with our two dogs and had a wonderful time. Very cosy and comfy with everything we needed and more. Thank you. The cottage and area are amazing and it will be a holiday to remember. The cottage lacked in cleanliness however. Cobwebs all over lighshades, dust everywhere and dog chewed treat left under bed from previous guests which our dogs smelt out immediately. Lightbulbs out everywhere so lacked light. And watermarks over mirror and taps in bathroom upon arrival. Would be ideal to be able to turn heating on/off as when we stayed in the cottage during the day due to rain it was cold in house, except living room with log burner. This didn’t affect our stay however working in the line of service I would expect a higher standard of cleaning. All in all we enjoyed our holiday thoroughly and communication with staff was excellent through texting. Thank you for letting us share your beautiful cottage.

  • "The cottage itself is in a lovely and peaceful location with beautiful views across lovely Welsh contryside, and it has everything that you could wish for to enjoy your break."

If I was to nit pick at anything, then I would say that the cottage is suited for a couple or young family, but would not be suitable for 4 adults as the second bedroom is very small, and even though there is a shower over the bath, it cannot be used as a shower due to the roof space. Also, some people may struggle witht he internet connection as we were only able to get a 300kbps at best, but that suited us fine as we wanted to get away from it all. All in all, we would highly recommend this cottage.

The kitchen was really well stocked with equipment which was great. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the hot water was really hot - great for long soaks in the bath. The surroundings were beautiful and the cottage is so close to Bala. I was slightly concerned I might be cold due to the time of year but the central heating was good and the log burner fabulous. The enclosed area at the side of the cottage was ideal for our doggie as you knew he was safe. The views from the cottage are spectacular. The owner who lives across from the cottage is lovely and so are her family. If you like walking there are plenty of walks signposted from the road below the cottage so you wouldn't need to take your car. The large hallway was ideal for placing your walking boots etc . One of our highlights of our holiday was seeing the starlings do their murmuration flight around the cottage . Bala is only about a 3 mile drive from the cottage for any supplies you need or a look around the different shops cafes etc and plenty more walks out of here. We will be definitely returning

Definitely the place to go if you want to get away and relax, the cottage is quite large, it's deceiving from the outside. Great for dogs too as very quiet, not right on the road and the road it's off is a small lane only used lightly. The facilities are great, huge kitchen if you want to make your own food but just a few miles away is Bala with more than you need for food. I really couldn't have asked for more from the facilities provided. Thank you Steph for sharing that amazing little gem with the world!

The cottage itself was nicely laid out, very pleasing to the eye, which created a nice atmosphere throughout. It was disappointing that the gas wood burner was out of commission in te living room as it was a little cool at times and we had looked forward to the fire effect for cosy evenings but the host, who was excellent and very welcoming, explained all this so it was just unfortunate timing that a repair or replacement was not available. The rest of the facilities were excellent, an amazing kitchen too. All in all it was a great place to stay and I would definitely return.
