  • "Set in the depth of beautiful Welsh countryside, Pentre Fach is a lovely converted barn with excellent facilities and home comforts, and my family were especially delighted to be welcomed by homemade Welch cakes."

Waking up to views and sounds of the farm, cattle and sheep was restful and many nights were spent sitting under the stars relaxing in the hot tub. The owners/farmers, Gareth and Julie, made every effort to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Should there be any issues, Gareth and Julie live nearby and are kind and supportive. For us, we were unable to operate the TV and Gareth promptly arranged a visit to assist us. For us, the only negative point was when I had difficulties paying for the holiday online, and so telephoned Sykes, they then increased the cost. We found this rather upsetting. Despite this Gareth and Julie made sure we had a lovely, restful stay and we would highly recommend Pentre Fach.

You really are in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful views. The property was a lot larger than expected and had all the facilities you could ever no , I looked at reviews before and the ones about the wifi not being great are a lot of rubbish , we streamed Netflix the entire time and the place was spotless. The owners of the property very much leave you be from start to finish and checked in once with us to make Sure everything was ok ( which it was) very nice and friendly people and we will defiantly be staying there again! The hot tub was amazing in the evening and the owners left us instructions on how everything worked ! Beautiful place and could not recommend it more

  • "Booking was quick and easy."

Correspondence with relevant information was forthcoming from both Sykes and the owners of the cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful and is set in the most amazing surroundings. It is very well presented and the owners have literally thought of everything. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and the hot tub a wonderful added bonus. There is plenty of wood for the log burner and we were surprised to learn that this would be replenished free of charge if required. As a family we needed some time to regroup and recharge and we were able to do this perfectly here. We had a lovely relaxing break in the peace and quiet amongst the sheep, squirrels, hares and birds and not to mention the views which are absoloutely spectacular. The hosts are so friendly and helpful and nothing seems to much trouble. The only problem was we didn’t want to leave!! Would highly recommend this property and we most certainly want to come back!

  • "The hosts (Julie and Gareth) were incredibly welcoming, the cottage itself was lovely, clean, open and refreshing."

The hot tub was a bonus which was always kept to a warm 40 degrees and chemical was put in every morning. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners at all, they also invited us to their farm to see their cows, sheep and pony! My kids loved it and had hugs with a lamb. We will be going back, highly reccomended.

  • "Such wonderful accommodation accompanied by the best hosts."

We stayed in the amazing ‘PentreFach‘ converted barn no words do it justice. From the surroundings and the cosy warm vibes of the lodge it is the best place to unwind, catch up and explore the fields / mountains of mid Wales. The lodge has great BBQ facilities and a wonderful hot tub to unwind in. I don’t think there’s anything to be disappointed about it’s everything you see in photos and more with an added personalised tour of a working farm should you wish. Thank you for a great stay, highly recommended.

  • "We have just returned from a very relaxing 4 days at Pentre Fach, the cottage was spotlessly clean and so well appointed, everything you could possibly need, a real home from home."

Everything from the welcome pack, to the board games and the free view. Julie and Gareth had great communication and it was lovely to meet them both and see them as they tended to the farm. The hot tub was a highlight for our family, as was the excellent wifi (always essential for kids!!) The location was so beautiful, the only noise was from the new lambs that popped by to say hello. Our intention was to explore the area, but we felt so relaxed and at home we didn’t feel the need to venture too far...maybe next time. After a year of looking at the same four walls this was the perfect break for our family, so thank you.

Idyllic. Amazing location. Spotless. Watch shooting stars from hot tub! Can’t rate highly enough. This is a detached private property with lots parking right outside front door. Big kitchen. Fab log burner. Tastefully well equipped. The owners must really be proud of the quality of accommodation. Visit local beauty spots like Elan valley. Hope to return!

  • "Pentre Fach is a lovely barn conversion and the owners are so kind and helpful."

The hot tub is a treat we were here for 3 weeks Fresh water change was done weekly which I felt was great. I Feel the cottage could benefit from some new utensils as the knifes and scissors were blunt and there were not enough glass for 6 people, cottage sleeps 6 but only 3 Prosecco glasses etc also a nice big saucepan would have been useful when cooking for a large family. These are only small Suggestions And had I have asked the owners whist there I know they would have been more than accommodating as nothing was a problem for them and they would have been happy to help. Being in the country flies were an issue for me the owners again supplied us with fly paper and spray etc but if the doors were open the flies were in plenty! (I spent a lot of time killing and picking up flies). The beds and bedding were lovely and comfortable and we had fresh bedding and towels brought every week the upstairs rooms were very hot as they are in the roof of the house I was certainly glad I planned ahead and took fans or it would have been unbearable on really hot days especially as I was reluctant to open windows Because of the flies coming in. The games and swing ball in the garden were a lovely addition and there was plenty of garden furniture to sit and enjoy the outdoors. All in all we had a great time here and that was down to Julie and Gareth for helping us feel so welcome there. I would highly recommend A visit to Llandrindod well Lakes which is only a 25 minute drive we spent most days there are the kids enjoyed the fishing which is free to under 16 (take your own equipment) lovely play area for the little ones and a cafe serving beautiful food for great prices.

your feedback is appreciated and we will of course sharpen the knives and scissors that are in the cottage. There were plenty of glasses available including pint glasses, tumblers, wine glasses and plastic wine glasses for use in the hot tub. In total there are about 15 different glasses of assortment. There were only three Prosecco glasses available however given that the booking was for 2 adults we felt this to be sufficient. These glasses have now been added to and we have also bought a larger saucepan to go with the four others already in the cottage. We know that the guests stayed at a time when the weather was beautiful but very hot and as we are located in the countryside we do get flys which guests who live in towns aren’t used to. We felt we supplied the guests with adequate fly paper and spray but we are sorry that the flies did cause upset however we felt this was outside of our control. A fan was provided in the cottage for the hot weather. e than accommodating with added extras. We are grateful for the positive feedback and glad that you had a great stay with us Property Owner

The views are stunning and it is really in the middle of nowhere! The place was sparkling clean - we usually leave cottages cleaner than when we arrived but this was hard to do!!! The hot tub was as clean as anything and worked perfectly, the surrounding area is packed with walks and things to do and next time we will stay for longer. The owners were always there to help if needed or just chat yet only came when asked. Julie and her family are lovely people, and have wonderful kids. Gareth is fun to talk to and speak about farming, checking on the water and chlorine levels daily (which means driving 7 min from his home to sort it out)!! Horse riding in the area was amazing and the kids loved the quad bike bonus! CAn't wait to return here with my family again... Lollu, Soro Dina, Malky, Tova, Bathseva, AZ, and Levi HIBBERT.

  • "The barn conversion is set in a beautiful part of the country."

The owners are very helpful and fantastic hosts who work extremely hard to maintain the cleanliness of this and other accomodations. The accomodation has fantastic views and clearly no expense has been spared to create a highly modern propery but with the quirkiness of a barn conversion. Will be going back again soon as for me the best thing about this place is the views and tranquility which all should experience. We went with a party of 6. 3 adults and 3 children all who thoroughly enjoyed the experience of the 7 nights. As I said earlier the cleanlines of the property is very high and I thoroughly recommend this fantastic accomodation to anyone who wants a little bit of peace and quiet. However do drive slowly down the lanes as the sheep can be stubborn and dont wanna move...... my kids thought this was funny as did we all. Hope whoever goes has as good a time as we did
