  • "Lovely cottage but a few issues with information provided, namely, no instructions for cooker which we had some difficulties with, a non functioning light on one staircase, the wrong WiFi details in the information, and an incorrect phone number for the caretaker who we tried to phone to address the problems."

  • "Ideal property for a group of people with social and private spaces."

Beds are in need of new mattresses. Property could do with a thorough clean, whilst bedding and linens spotless the kitchen, utensils, cabinets and walls need cleaning and many cobwebs throughout the house. A file with instructions for all electricals and useful information regarding nearest supermarkets would also be helpful.

Hi there, a Floral binder is provided with all of our instructions, apologies this may have been missed during your stay, we ask our team to leave this in the island for all guests to see, We wished you would have contacted us during your stay as we would have been happy to help rectify these for your booking. We have since employed a new team of cleaners, we hope you return to see what improvements we have made. Kind regards Property Owner

  • "No tv in mezzanine bedroom and No tumble dryer - spec needs to be updated."

The tv in the private upstairs snug didn’t work, no instructions found. Disappointed there were no tea and coffee making facilities in bedrooms and no Wi-Fi reception except for the kitchen, snug and mezzanine bedroom. All beds would benefit from mattress upgrade. The property would also benefit from a professional clean. A clearly visible file with instructions for all electrical equipment would be useful. That said, it is an interesting property with good communal social spaces and allows for privacy when desired. We were a group of 6 (3couples). An ideal location to explore with great walks on the doorstep. The garden is beautifully maintained but some of the front patio furniture was broken so could not seat everyone near the river.

Thank you for your feedback, we have 2 mezzanine bedrooms ( only one of them has a television). Prior to your booking some guests had broken our tumble dryer, we are very sorry that this couldn't be replaced in time for your booking, I can confirm we now have a brand new one in the property. We checked the TV following your stay and found no issues. There is a floral binder with all of our instructions,, apologies this may have been missed during your stay, we ask our team to leave this in the island for guests to use . We now have a new team of cleaners working for us and the property is now a much better standard. issues aside we hope you enjoyed your stay with us. Kind regards Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely weekend in this cottage - the location was perfect with ample parking on the driveway and a Starbucks only a short drive away for a morning coffee on the way to Barmouth beach!"

The house was really large and there were so many bedrooms and bathrooms we were spoilt for choice. The children and dog enjoyed playing in the beautiful garden and there were ample tables and chairs outside for us to relax in. We couldn’t find a BBQ so we bought ourselves a small outdoor grill for the Saturday night. Otherwise the property had everything we could have needed and we were sad to leave at the end of our weekend.

  • "When we came across this place we thought there must be a catch as it looked so good, but we were wrong, as it exceeded our expectations."

Two weeks here wasn’t quite enough as there is so much to see in the locality as well as just enjoying being in the space. Having 4 rooms with en-suite bathrooms was wonderful. The beds and sitting areas were comfortable and above all the kitchen was fantastic to cook in, with quality appliances and very well equipped. The owner responded very quickly to our requests too. The location of this place was great. We took bikes and could easily cycle through Dolgellau to the coast along the Mawddach Trail. The views are amazing across the estuary to the sea. We can also recommend Torrent Walk near the house, Precipice walk and Foel-Offrwm walks (accessible from a car park above Dolgellau), Cregennan Lakes above Arthog and the RSPB reserve at Ynys-hir. Having a river running through the garden was really spectacular when it rains, but be careful if you have dogs or children as it runs with a huge torrent. We would highly recommend this place.

  • "Pandy Isaf is a very quiet, private and luxurious gem of a place."

It's setting is stunning; it oozes charm and character; and, feels like a real home-from-home. The rooms and spacious and all finishes and fittings are all top quality. The kitchen is amazing and we spent a lot of our time lounging on the terrace with the large bi-fold doors open - making one large lounge-kitchen-garden-dining living space. Pandy Isaf is basically 2 connected houses. The original old ancient stone cottage with cosy lounge, kitchen, terrace and master suite above. Then via the central utility (2 steps) to the larger more recent extension with ground floor bedroom, ground floor cloakroom-WC, large dining and lounge/sunroom - living area & front terrace - 2 bedrooms above sharing a small landing. It's the generous and thoughtful attention to detail that makes you feel so much at home - books, lamps, decanters, games, art, maps and guides, CDs/DVDs etc etc. The kitchen is so generously stocked with spices and essentials, crocks, utensils, pots and pans, storage bins - all top quality everything you could wish for - was there. The large cooking range is brilliant and there are 2 fridges (one in the extension), an upright freezer and a built in fridge freezer. The owners were kind enough to leave us a lovely welcoming gift (which disappeared the first night) - thank you! The stream splits around an island along the edge of the garden and the 'visible' section along the garden edge does not flow if there has been little rain. But you can hear it clearly - and catch a glimpse near the entrance gate. In summary, Pandy Isaf is a very special and generous home in a lovely and peaceful setting in an excellent location for exploring and local amenities. Vicinity:- The location is ideal for exploring beautiful Cody Brennan Forest (superb cycle trails), Cadair Idris mountain and the Barmouth coast. Dolgellau is charming. We were treated to an impromptu rugby choir (all in club uniform) signing in the beer terrace of the stag in - magical! You must not miss the torrent walk - a short but steep walk away (we dropped off the less- able by car). It is simply stunning and very atmospheric. The path on the north side (closest to Pandy Isaf) is pretty level - hard surfaced and well maintained - there are a few stairs further along the walk. The Co-op in Dolgellau is large & well stocked - some nice shops in the town too. There is a nice steak-house (amongst other eateries) and a couple of decent pubs with outside seating. The Cross Foxes is a lovely country inn (5 mins drive) with excellent food and views from the accessible terrace. The drive from the Cross Foxes to Llyn Mwyngil lake (lakeside dining too) and beyond that suns alongside Cadair Idris mountain is stunning. At Dol Idris (same road - closer to the inn) there is a lovely accessible walk around a nature reserve. The George III is also a nice pub with decent food, overlooking a tidal river with quaint toll-bridge - can be very busy in peak season. Accessibility: My wife has moderately limited mobility - but she managed with a little assistance. Those more limited mobility may find the steps to get around the property more challenging (as advised in the Sykes' description). There is a single step up from the car park to the front path, The grass banks either side are (steeply) sloping up to the level of the front path. From the path (which is reasonably well compacted slate chippings) and about 20 yds long - the older cottage front door has a shallow step up and down over the threshold. Once inside the ground floor is level (lounge/dining-kitchen/terrace); The newer extension, with the ground floor bedroom and downstairs cloaks, is accessed from the older cottage via the utility room and has 2 steps (one quite high). You can also reach the newer extension via its separate front door - 3 steps down from path to it's own front terrace/seating area then 2 steps up to the front door. Once inside the dining area, GF bedroom and cloaks are on the same level. The lounge/sunroom is one step down from front door. Hope this helps - We would go back to Pandy Isaf in a heartbeat - delightful!

  • "The house setting is wonderful it had everything we needed."

The house is home from home and has lots of added extras you wouldn’t normally get in a holiday let. The secure garden was enjoyed by our dog bella and we all enjoyed sitting out in the sun on the patio. Lots of lovely walks and visited eatery’s in the village and the local taxi man Steve was a star bringing us fish and chips for our last supper. A 5 star holiday enjoyed by all our group, cant wait to return.

  • "Location and property fabulous but at this level and rates we would have expected a much higher quality of cleanliness."

It was not our expectation that we would have to do some cleaning before we could use the oven and bbq and a few other items. Its a shame because Pandy Isaf is a stunning property and deserving of 5 Stars but with those 5 starts comes an expectation that the place would be spotlessly clean. Particularly the oven, the grill was unusable it was that dirty.

  • "We had a lovely stay in Pandy Isaf."

The house is wonderful and we had two families with adult children who stayed there along with one dog. The house is an ideal place to rent and has a huge garden with a stream running through it. It has all the facilities that you would need including a bbq which we used almost every day. There is a small supermarket in the local village which was ideal for essentials but we did manage to get an online supermarket delivery to the house on our first night which was ideal. Barmouth is only a short drive away and we did also go on some nice walks. Would definitely recommend the house.
