  • "Lovely place to stay, central for lots of things, beautiful part of the country."

  • "A lovely spacious bungalow in a beautiful part of the world."

However the garden was very overgrown and we think a gardener should be employed to keep it tidy. Also several of the doors had very loose door knobs and need to be repaired especially the shower room.

  • "We found this cottage to be very clean and well appointed."

There were a few small things which have been mentioned to the owner and will be put right shortly.eg bathroom door knobs. Although on a main road we were not affected by noise of traffic. Obviously a gate at the entrance would make it safer for guests with animals or children. The owner is arranging this. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Trigfa. JK.

  • "The house is in a lovely location, close to beaches, mountains and lakes."

The setting of the local pub is beautiful. The only downside is that the house is situated on a fairly busy main road with many speeding cars. There is a gate just outside the back door but the patio area with seating has no gate so the accommodation could be a problem for guests with dogs and children. It really could do with a gate at the bottom of the driveway. There is plenty of parking right outside in the lay by on the road.

  • "Lovely, well equipped home in a beautiful area."

Liz, the owner has thought of everything you may need. Comfortable beds, gorgeous linen, and welcome pack including brownies from the local bakery, thank you for a fantastic stay.

  • "Impossible to turn vehicle so had to reverse onto main road."

Property smelled of dogs. Cleanliness very poor - used pan scourer left on kitchen sink, used tissue at side of bed, mass of dog hairs at back of lounge seats, dirt at side of bed, crumbs in cutlery drawer, crumbs in toaster, dirty light switches (photos taken). Worrying standards normally but more so re Covid 19. Heating would not go higher than 17.5 degrees and was cold. Several previous letters of complaint were hidden in a trunk of cleaning items (photos taken). on Sunday morning I lost the key to the property. I locked the door whilst my wife was in the shower. On my return at 9.30am I phoned the maintenance who was extremely unhelpful. He suggested I climb through the window as he could not locate the key. I suggested this was not safe and he put the phone down. I had to ring 11 times before he would answer and still he would not assist me saying he had a late night and it was my fault I lost the key. True but unhelpful. he then said he would try to locate the key but it would be later that day. I informed him i would report his lack of help to Sykes and he said I would have to wait until Monday and contact Menai Holidays. I contacted Sykes who immediately organised a key from Pwlleli and delivered within 2 hours. 10/10 for Sykes and 0/10 for cleanliness, comfort and maintenance. Shocking response from maintenance supplier ref key. I have just signed with Sykes to let my FHL near Dolgellau. I am extremely concerned of the standard of this property Trigfa as this will adversely affect renters view of the standard Sykes supply.

I am sorry you felt the need to write such a harsh review, the Menai Holidays Barmouth Office was not open on that particular Sunday however I did organise with the help of Menai Holidays staff the speedy delivery of a new key which the staff member kindly drove over 1.5hrs to deliver. I will ensure a message is put on both external doors reminding guests that the key must be left in the key safe and the dangers of leaving people locked in the property, an additional key will also be held in a safe place at the property for future use. We request that pets are not allowed on soft furnishings and we have recently changed our housekeeping team. Whilst there is adequate parking and turning space on the driveway we would also like to point out that there is additional parking to the front of the property, which is unreserved but gives drivers ample parking space. • "A comfortable well equipped bungalow and the hard flooring throughout made it very dog friendly."

The two settees in the lounge were fine for two of us but would have been a bit squashed for any more adults probably ok for small children.
