  • "A lovely cottage."

Car is parked away but car can be brought close to unpack and pack the car and actually means no cars to worry about near the cottage for Dog or little ones. Fantastic location steam railway and Falls only 2mins walk. So peaceful. BUT kitchen very small. With small family fridge and no where for grocer's (we just put a box in the living area and moved it through at meal times)but loads of pots and pans for cooking. Kids loved the pool table but Internet connection is not very good. Guess that's what you get for being in a beautiful valley so far from everything. Walks on the doorstep was so nice and lovely communal garden to play and eat in too. Will come again

  • "Nice place but filthy property and horrible owner attitude."

After travelling 4 hours with 3 children we found the apartment in disgusting, filthy condition. I spent first evening cleaning so our children can have a meal and bath. Kitchen cupboards and worktop dirty and sticky, plates and cutlery dirty, dust and grease built up on every part of the kitchen. Washing machine was full of old, dirty, stinky water and horrible dirt around the seal. Dinning table dirty. Both bathroom floors dirty, dusty with pubic hair everywhere. Dust and cobwebs everywhere. Waredrobes were black dirty even inside. Between check in (9am) and check out (5pm) is 8 hours!!! Been told they need extra time to deep clean and disinfect the property because of Covid-19. Well, they done nothing, apart from clean bedding and towels!!!!!! Absolutely nothing. Also ensuit bathroom toilet not working properly and sink hot tap broken. There was no tumbler dryer as stated in the advert. When I contacted the owner, she basicly said that I'm lying, good job I had a photos as a proof. We rented the property through Sykes Cottages and they dealt lovely with my complaint, but owner refused to pay any sort of compensation. Stay away from this apartment!!!

Many thanks for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you liked the place. In regards to your complaint, as soon as we were made aware that you were not 100% satisfied with the level of cleanliness, we have offered to send back our cleaner, however you have declined the offer. Sykes have also offered to assist but you have declined any assistance. We were therefore suprised, after you spent the holiday at the property, to receive your request of a substantial refund of your holiday. We feel that this feedback is inaccurate and it has been left because we didn't meet your refund request. We hope that future guests will be able to refer to all the other customer's reviews that are lovely and a more truthful refection of our property Property Owner

The location was idea for an outdoors holiday within easy reach of the mountains and the seaside. The appartment provided us with a lovely and comfortable base , with plenty of space to relax in the evenings and we enjoyed the outside area especially the busy birdfeeders.

A visitors book would be useful to write comments in with helpful information.

  • "My daughter stayed in this flat with her family, including two young children."

The flat was dirty - it hadn't been cleaned properly. There were mouse droppings in the living room and other spaces that her toddler could have put in her mouth. It took a couple of days for a cleaner to sort out; in the meantime, she and her husband had to clean the property themselves before they could use it. They were not happy about this, understandably.

  • "It is a lovely holiday cottage."

The location is brilliant with the waterfalls to our rear and the steam train stop there too. Our 2.5 year old visited the train station every day. There are lovely beaches nearby as well. The apartment was clean and well equipped for a young family including a stargate, highchair and travelcot. Although the kitchen is small, it has everything you need in it to cook for the 4 adults plus two children. We loved our holiday at 4 Dolgoch Falls and are just sad it is over.

  • "The cottage was very clean and cosy."

Perfect for our large family (6 kids) with stair gate, travel cot and high chair. We had plenty of space. Gorgeous log burner with a fireguard. Stunning waterfalls within 5/10 minute walk and little steam train station almost on the doorstep with added bonus of a shallow stream that our children loved to paddle in. Nearby Aberdyfi had a lovely beach with sand dunes as well. Lovely holiday in a lovely cottage.
