  • "There are a few negatives, these are that the sofas are worn and quite uncomfortable, the house did get cold during the day as the heating was on a timer for a few hours each morning and evening and the log burner kept only the lounge warm; you also need to mention in your information to take bath mats as these weren’t provided and this was not mentioned in the information given."

Overall the cottage has all the home comforts you may need and is in a fantastic location, hot tub was amazing looking up at the clear star filled sky

  • "This was our second holiday at Ty Mawr Cottage."

It’s a great space, allowing all 6 people to relax, come together for relaxing in front of the fire or for dining together. We will defiantly be back for a third visit. The area has so much to do.

  • "A beautiful location and generally comfortable cottage."

It was a shame there wasn’t the extra effort to make you feel welcome.. a few teabags and milk on arrival.. also there was a lack of cleaning cloths and no extra toilet rolls. The handbook has a tone of rules rather than we hope you enjoy your stay. It would be nice for the issue we did have to have been properly addressed and an offer of money off but unfortunately this didn’t happen. We did have a lovely holiday overall so thank you.

  • "A wonderful week away in a beautiful location."

The cottage is well equipped, spacious and nicely decorated. Within walking distance of the local village, which has a shop and pub. A little further along you can find the Bala Lake Railway. Weather was perfect for September, which meant many an evening spent in the hot tub, enjoying the peaceful surroundings, and the sheep paying us a visit to the fence! Kitchen has everything you needed to cook for a large group, we even did Sunday dinner from scratch! Heating wasn’t on when we stayed, but house soon warmed up with log burner, and we found we didn’t need the heating. Hot water plentiful and shower pressure was great. Being very rural it was great for stargazers. Plenty of activities nearby. We caught the train up Snowdon, walked to the summit and back down. White water rafting just down the road was exhilarating, as was the GYG Karting, again not too far away. For a first time visit to Wales we said we would definitely visit again. Only thing that was missing was an iron at the cottage which would have been handy, although we managed without. Thank you for providing a lovely place to stay.

  • "Everything."

The Location, the accommodation, the hot tub, the wood burner, the stream down the road, the beautiful sunrises at 06.00, loads to do in the local area. There was nothing to fault. We would return as there is still so much to do.

  • "The property is very well located."

However 1. bed mattresses are thin and uncomfortable 2. The house did not feel for a e.g. v dirty toilet brushes and holders, dead spiders in the crockery, glassware dusty 3. Spider webs across the entrance to cupboard containing cleaning items 4. Old dustpan and brush - would be easy to get a new one 5. Did read no towels available so brought these. But did not realise there would be no oven gloves, tea towels etc and not clear of justification for this.

We were 2 family's that went away for the Christmas week together. The house and grounds have so much space you can not feel ontop of eachother. From sitting by the fire in the evening to using the hot tub and going for lovely country walks this place is the ultimate cottage for a family/friends gathering. Thank you for making our Christmas a special one. One that our 4 little ones will hopefully remember forever.
