  • “Delightful cottage in an idyllic ...”

Delightful cottage in an idyllic location. The owners friendly greeting made us feel very welcome. The welcome food pack was amazing containing lovely extras as well as essentials. We've never had eggs, butter cheese, artisan bread, jam and Welsh cakes before. The area is charming, with plenty of interesting places to visit.

Dolgoch Mill Cottages

A trio of characterful cottages sitting within a converted wool mill, alongside a babbling stream and nestled around a courtyard within the hamlet of Drefelin and close to the popular market town of Newcastle Emlyn. These well-equipped, rural cottages sit amidst a wooded valley and offer cosy and intimate accommodation. They have been furnished in an inviting and coordinated manner with light and airy, well-equipped kitchens and separate sitting rooms with comfortable seating to relax into after a day exploring the fabulous west Wales countryside and coastline. They all have Smart TVs, DVDs, WiFi, central heating and access to the shared gardens and wonderful views that surround the cottages. All the holiday cottages have their own unique identity. The cottages are equidistant between the riverside market town of Newcastle Emlyn with its antique shops, cafés and restaurants and the rural town of Llandysul, perfect to browse a few shops and relax over a coffee. Within walking distance are pubs, a convenience store and the National Wool Museum. The coast is less than half an hour’s drive away, with a selection of pretty harbourside towns, such as the seaside resort of New Quay, famous for its resident dolphin population where you can catch a sightseeing boat trip, the fabulous sands of Penbryn and the little coves of Llangrannog and Cwmtydu. There are various outdoor activities with canoeing on the River Teifi in nearby Llandysul, fabulous cycle trails in the Brechfa Forest that leads out onto the heathland-topped Llanllwni Mountain, and great opportunities for walking locally or along the coastal paths linking the little coves and sandy beaches. A perfect trio of Teifi Valley cottages, each an ideal base for couples, groups or a small family looking to make the most of the fabulous wooded valleys and fantastic west Wales countryside, while being a short walk to a village and close to the beautiful coastline of Cardigan Bay, rich in quaint harbour side villages and enthralling wildlife. A myriad of footpaths criss-cross the area and the surrounding countryside opens up fabulous days of walking, cycling and visiting some gems of a golden era, such as the nearby National Wool Museum, also the site of one of only a few working wool mills. The River Teifi is renowned for excellent fishing and has some fabulous riverside towns and villages as it meanders down to the coastline.

The property

A comfortable, bright, end-terraced cottage that sits within a converted mill, with seating areas in communal grounds, surrounded by striking wooded valley countryside near to Cardigan Bay and the lovely sandy beaches and hidden coves of West Wales.

There is a comfortable sitting room with Smart TV, DVD and a log burner.

A bright well-equipped kitchen with dining area leads out onto the gardens and valley views. Upstairs there are two comfortable bedrooms and a bathroom. Buzzards and kites can be seen soaring through the valley and birds of all kinds frequent the well maintained gardens. A delightful getaway for couples, a small family or group looking for a peaceful base to explore the stunning local area. The original wool mill waterwheel, in need of some repair, can be seen at the end of the gardens and the owners are more than happy for you to inspect it closer.
