The views were spectacular over the mountains. Comfortable, warm and everything you need. Thankyou.

  • "Had a very comfortable week at 48 Glan y Mor."

Cottage small but fine for four. Only a couple of negatives involving layout but not solvable without internal refit. (i) Toilet advertised as separate to bathroom which technically it is but unfortunately only accessible THROUGH bathroom so seperation no help in accessibility when four staying; (b) double bedroom has no fresh air access when windows opened as only open onto front conservatory. Felt need to open front door and inner bedroom door to gain fresh air. However, small negatives and very satisfied overall.

  • "Lovely, cosy little property with stunning views across towards Barmouth and the hills."

Loved sitting in the little conservatory and watching the animals and enjoying the peace and quiet. The beds were warm and comfy, kitchen was well equipped with all we needed and a great little enclosed garden we could let our dog out into. Lovely decor - great black-out curtains in main bedroom! Parking was our only negative, as it is communal and there wasn’t always room to park near the property (especially as some chose to park badly) so be prepared to unload and move. Felt very safe there though.

  • "If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life , then this is the perfect stay."

I have many happy childhood memories of Fairbourne and this did not disappoint. The bungalow is tucked away, in walking distance of everywhere in Fairbourne and has the most beautiful views of the mountains from the back garden. If you want to go out for the day the train station is also a short distance from the bungalow, we had lovely days out in Barmouth and followed the beautiful coastal road to Aberdovey. The bungalow itself has everything you need, it is comfortable and clean. There was a lovely complimentary basket on arrival of wine, biscuits and some Bara Brith… a lovely touch! Again if you would like beautiful views and some peace and quiet then this is the place for you! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

  • "This is a wonderful, clean, well equipped and comfortable bungalow with truly stunning views of the nearby estuary and Welsh hills."

It has to be the best views we have ever had in self catering accommodation and we loved listening to the birds in the back garden. The neighbours were friendly and helpful and we had one of the best holidays we have ever had. We did lots of walking in the local area and enjoyed trips to Barmouth and Aberdovey. We would recommend this property wholeheartedly and would definitely like to return.

  • "It was very clean, nice and quiet location."

I felt it needed garden furniture eg table large enough for at least four people and parasol. People need to be made aware this bungalow is situated on a residential estate, as at times the neighbours were carrying out maintenance on their properties. Also I felt it lacked privacy being overlooked by said neighbours.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at your bungalow, fell in love with the views and your accommodation."

Ideal for the dogs, with the enclosed garden. Lovely walks on the beach and surrounding area, we shall definitely return. Just one point for your cleaner to look out for, there were crumbs under the microwave on our arrival.

  • "Very pleasant holiday let."

Owners left welcome gifts and friendly words plus lots of useful information. The bungalow was spotlessly clean and it was a relaxing environment to be in. The view from the conservatory was superb and the quietness of the locality was wonderful.

Could do with a table and chairs in the garden as the plastic chairs were starting to deteriorate it’s such a lovely view from the garden and a lovely place to sit. We would love to visit again and have recommended to friends

  • "Very comfortable and cosy cottage."

Great location, beautiful mountain view. The guidebook in the sitting room provides comprehensive information about the nearby attractions and walking routes. There is no hair dryer, make sure to bring your own. Only one toilet roll and very small amount hand wash liquid on arrival. As there are two shops at the corner, it can be easily sorted out. A bottle of wine from the owner as a gift. A great and warm welcome.Definitely will go back.

The property

Resting at the southern end of the Snowdonia National Park and ten minutes walk from two miles of sandy beach is this appealing semi-detached bungalow, 48 Glan Y Mor in the village of Fairbourne.

Enjoying magnificent views of Cadair Idris and the Rhinogydd mountain ranges and situated at the mouth of the Mawddach estuary with easy access to the famous Mawddach trail (10 miles of traffic free paths with stunning views), 48 Glan Y Mor is a wonderful base for a family of four's coastal getaway.

Upon arriving at the property, soak in the sea breeze and your idyllic surroundings, before making your way across the front lawn to the lovely abode.

Wander inside to find a charming sitting room, with enough seating for all the family to curl up on as you watch a movie on the TV.

Continue to the U-shaped kitchen, where the chef of the group will be pleased to find all the appliances, they need to rustle up tasty meals, including a slimline dishwasher and electric cooker.

When dinner is served, progress through the property to the sunny conservatory, where you can savour dinner whilst you admire those beautiful views stretching beyond the back garden.

When night falls, choose between two bedrooms to enjoy a well-earned rest in, the first one being a welcoming double, and the other being a twin enjoying built-in storage, both have built-in wardrobes providing ample storage space.

In the morning, freshen up for a day out in the bathroom, a spot enjoying nautical touches, that also hosts a bath with shower over and is situated next to a cloakroom with a separate WC.

The back garden is a lovely spot, where your furry friend can stretch their legs on the lawn.

Fairbourne shops are a short 5 minute walk with four eateries including chip shop and Indian restaurant.

There are two grocery shops providing everything you need should you want to cook at home and a launderette.

Also in Fairbourne are three pubs, The Penrhyn Bar and Grill, The Glan y Mor Hotel and Fairbourne Golf club.

The village also hosts a good selection of attractions, including a sprawling beach where you can beachcombe and surf to your heart's content, a beachside golf course and a miniature railway which runs for two miles from the village to the end of the sand spit.

If you are a cyclist or walker you will love the Mawddach Trail which is a stunning multi-use path following the old disused railway line along the edge of the beautiful Mawddach estuary in Southern Snowdonia.

The almost exclusively traffic–free route, which is owned by the Snowdonia National Park, is clearly marked, and can be easily followed.

It is essentially flat, has a fairly even surface and for most of its length is at least 3 metres wide, and as such it is suitable for walkers, cyclists and wheelchair users.

The Mawddach trail has featured in several TV documentaries most notably the Dollgelau to Barmouth Railway Walk with Julia Brabury.

A must for the more adventurous cyclist is the UK’s first specialist mountain biking centre, Coed y Brenin (17 miles from Fairbourne).

Purpose built, all-weather single-track routes with names like The Cavity and Falseteeth will get experienced riders’ pulses pounding, while there are gentler options for younger and more casual cyclists.

Work on your technique at the Y Ffowndri Skills Area & Bike Park, relax and refresh at the visitor centre café and browse Beics Brenin, stocked with cycling equipment and bikes for hire.

There are numerous ways to get to the seaside town of Barmouth, from catching a ferry to crossing Barmouth Bridge or catching the train from Fairbourne; once you have arrived at the town, be sure to climb to Dinas Oleu via the Panorama Walk, where you can soak in beautiful views of the town, before heading back down to bask in the sun on the beach, and stopping in one of many independent shops and eateries.

There is so much more to see in the surrounding area, with the rocky peak of Penygader nearby, the fascinating Mach Loop, where you can spot jet aircrafts being trained, and the Cregennan Lakes, where the fishing fans of the group can angle away.

Dolgellau and Aberdovey aren't far and also make for fabulous outings with plenty to do; additionally, the heart of Snowdonia National Park is just moments away and beholds a wealth of activities for the outdoors fans of the group.

For a beachfront stay to remember, look no further than 48 Glan Y Mor.
