Appreciated being able to leave our main luggage at the property ahead of checking in. A small point but for feedback a non stick frying pan would be useful for cooking the eggs provided from Lin's chickens.

Lovely walks available from your door step and lots of information is left all Covid friendly in the barn on arrival. There were flowers, milk, eggs and prosecco left for our arrival. There is a local pub about 10 mins drive away that serves good food. The cottage is not near any town so having a car is essential but if you want the peacefulness of the countryside then this the place. Hot tub is a great bonus too. The cottage is kept spotless by the owners who maintained the hot tub during our stay. We could have very easily stayed another week here, we will definately be returning.

  • "A mixed review from us."

The barn, the view, the cleanliness and equipment provided were absolutely excellent! The hot tub was a lovely bonus! However, there are some negatives from our experience. The flies in the house were an absolute nuisance! Despite keeping everything crumb free they were still everywhere! I know it is near farmland, etc. But it was still not nice. The other negative is how the patio seating area has been done. There is a fence between the next rental barn but if both families are enjoying the seating or hot tub there is very little privacy and if you are unlucky enough to get loud neighbours it isn’t pleasant sharing a small space. Sorry for the negatives because overall we had a fantastic and relaxing time and the barn is stunning.

  • "Excellent property set in a lovely location."

The property has been tastefully converted to a very high standard and was spotlessly clean. Very quiet and chilled out place. No cars, no light pollution, no people and limited mobile phone signal which was great, back to the good old days (WiFi in Barn). If you are after a very relaxing place, away from it all (nearst town a 30 minute drive away, pub with food 15 mins drive away) then I would highly recommend this property. We will definitely be returning.

So beautifully done, nicely furnished and tasteful decor. The underfloor heating, for those not lucky enough to have it in their own home, is such a luxury and meant the barn was comfortably warm all the time. The hot tub really sold it to us, sitting out under the stars contemplating the universe - what a way to spend an evening. You can’t beat it. Time to put those phones away and actually chat to those around you! It is set in a remote location but that makes this even more special. The neighbours are sheep, pretty much in every direction. The bleat of the lambs carrying over the valley. If you’re after somewhere to totally kick back and relax, this is it - we’ve had a wonderful time and would thoroughly recommend it.

The hot tub is a bonus even in November. The cottage is situated 2.8 miles along a single track lane with the nearest dwelling at least a mile away, if you want peace and quiet then this is the place to go. The scenery is beautiful with views of open farmland all around with sheep grazing in nearby fields. There are several walks in the area from easy to strenuous. The whole area for miles around is very scenic and I especially liked the road from Builth Wells to Newtown, via Llandridnod Wells, well worth the trip. The owners are friendly, informative, helpful and our welcome was great with eggs, milk tea and coffee, flowers, and treats for the dog. There was also a treat for us in a bottle of Prosecco.

We were looking for a quiet break away and that’s exactly what we got. The barn was converted to a very high standard, everything you could possibly need was in there. For some reading I expected the barn to have a cold feel as the ceilings were so high and that was just in my mind, I was so wrong, it was cosy and warm in the day and evenings and was so spacious and comfortable. Lin and James were fabulous hosts and couldn’t do enough for you, always at hand if needed.
