  • "Couldn't fault this property or it's location."

It was clean and cosy and had everything I needed for my stay. It's position near Stiperstones is great for some fantastic walking. All round I'd honestly say Cranberry Cottage was excellent and I look forward to returning.

  • "Lovely cottage with amazing views in a great location."

reported issues - cold tap in kitchen broken but not repaired . Bathroom tap broke and had to insist it be fixed as owner wanted to leave until we left. Oven was filthy. Shower leaking which we agreed could wait until we left. Would recommend a new mattress and sofa as both uncomfortable, blinds in the windows for privacy, gating off the parking area to be dog friendly and maybe a grass area inside the parking area too. Needs better lighting outside. The cleaner needs to improve their standards.

Thank you so much Jo-Anne for your feedback. I’m so sorry you felt the bed and sofa was uncomfortable, we have never received negative feedback on this previously. I’m also sorry we were unable to extend your stay when you requested an additional nights stay the night before you were due to depart. Unfortunately due to having new guests arriving we were unable to accommodate you on this occasion. Thank you for reporting the leaking water heater and I’m glad we could get a replacement and have it fitted within 5 hours of you reporting this. As discussed with you, we believe the faulty tap and water heater was caused by fluctuating water pressure in the area. This has now been fully resolved. There are curtains in the property which we feel are more than adequate, especially for our guests to enjoy the ‘amazing views’ as mentioned in your review. We welcome dogs to Cranberry cottage, but we do expect owners to take full responsibility of their pets. We do not expect them to be let out on their own and roam around the grounds whist the owners are within the cottage. We had to inform the owners that the dog had ‘done its business’ on the communal grounds, out of sight of the cottage. We will of course look at the lighting in the area around the cottage. Many thanks Shelve Holidays Property Owner

Very warm and cosy, we didn’t use the log burner even in January. Super view from the lounge window over to The Stiperstones - when you could see them , we weren’t exactly blessed with good weather.

  • "I was upset to find there was no phone signal at Cranberry Cottage, this needs flagging up on the website, not something to find out on arrival."

Combined with the owner not being around I felt vulnerable with a medical condition that could need urgent contact by phone. A named person and house to go to would have alleviated my anxiety: there were not " plenty of people around" and no one contacted me. Welcome was generally poor with minimal provision- a few tea bags, sugar, jar of stale , solid coffee but no milk and no oil. Great to have a pepper grinder and to find some vinegar though. Cooking for myself, I needed to run the dishwasher every day, but only 4 tablets were provided. Otherwise the cottage was great, super location for walks of all lengths from the door and an excellent collection of walks leaflets and books for exploration near and far. I loved watching red kite and swallows from the comfy sofa. The shower room with its heated towel rail was very comforting on the day I got drenched and chilled. Good storage in the bedroom with a firm bed, which I like, but a hard mattress that I don't. The living space is bright and open and didn't overheat on the hot days. A lovely place to be.

Good evening Mary, Thank you for your feedback from your recent stay at Cranberry Cottage. Located in a rural area like we are, not all phone networks work. We do have fantastic service with EE but unfortunately we cannot be responsible for other network providers poor signal. The WiFi in the cottage is very quick and often guests connect to this if they are struggling for signal. This allows them to use WiFi calling. The guest information folder provides a wealth of information including the location of our own property just a few doors away where we are always available. We were completely unaware of your medical status and if we had known we would've made every effort to alleviate your concern. I'm sorry that on this occasion we were unable to meet you personally. The cottage is self catering but we do try and provide a few staple items to get guests started. We have in the past supplied milk but due to the large amount of intolerances and preferences we found it was more than often not used. We therefore made the decision to not supply. I'm pleased that overall you enjoyed your stay but feel that the accuracy of your listing score is a little unfair considering the signal is out of our control. Regards. The only suggestion that can be made is to provide a shower matt and or grab rail in the shower. This would provide much better safety particulary for older users.
