  • "What a super place to stay."

The Barn at Glanoer is right out in the countryside. The stars in the sky shine brighter and the busy birdlife can be viewed from the giant picture window. From the enormous and comfortable bed to the cosy log burner it is hard to leave and a joy to return to. The owners are welcoming and have supplied many little touches to make it a great stay. The welcome basket was super and we loved waking to the gentle clucking of the chickens. We wouldn't hesistate to go back.

  • "We spent a week at this beautiful barn and absolutely loved it."

The owners were so friendly and had literally thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We were provided with a wonderful welcome hamper on arrival, including home baked bread and freshly laid eggs by the Glanoer girls (their own chickens)! I especially liked the fact everything was locally sourced and the milk was supplied in a glass bottle not a plastic carton. I hate plastic milk cartons!! The barn was extremely clean and the bed linen and towels smelt gorgeous. The owners also allowed us to freely use their land to exercise our dogs which was amazing. The dogs absolutely loved it. We were also given a bag of dog treats and access to towels, leads, toys, wipes and even hi-viz dog coats and collars! So thoroughly thought out and greatly appreciated. It was so peaceful with the sound of the stream and the birds….we even saw a woodpecker! It was a great place to retreat to especially when having a busy Manchester life! We will definitely be returning. (If they’ll have us of course) :-) Verity, Mike, Poirot and Vera

We had a thoroughly relaxed, chilled out time which was just what we needed. The welcome from Sue and Dave was exceptional. The hamper we were given on arrival with lots of locally produced and home made goodies was excellent. Sue even made us bread and jam to take home!! They really are a genuinely lovely couple!! Even the dogs, Kiti & Poli and the hens made us feel welcome! The Barn was very clean and comfortable and very dog friendly. Our miniature schnauzer, Mollie was provided with treats, toys, towels and throws for the furniture. The Barn is well equipped and we had everything we needed. The gardens and surrounding area are stunning. Beautiful views and lots of places within a short distance to visit. The local pub, the Hundred House Inn serves great food and is well worth a visit. We enjoyed sitting in the courtyard outside the property with the highly scented Jasmine and we were delighted when the fairy lights came on at dusk giving the area a magical feel. This is a hidden gem and would be equally lovely to visit in winter with the wood burning stove and fire pit. We had a fab time and would not hesitate to recommend.

Excellent facilities to enjoy the stay inside and out. Lovely walk at nearby Water-break-it’s-neck - in lovely mid Wales. Plenty to do post lockdown in Builth Wells, Llandrindod Wells and Hereford. As hosts, Sue & Dave were perfect - very welcoming and there for a friendly chat but completely unobtrusive. We loved the wonderful outlook onto the trees, the large covered patio area and being able to wander in the garden. We had a week of superb walking in the area and really enjoyed the solitude of the Welsh Hills. Because of the Coronavirus we didn’t do as much as we normally would but what a place to just chill out in an amazing property with everything you could possibly need. Just to sit and watch the birds on the feeders while reading a book in front of the wood burner and at times see the red kites soaring above is sheer bliss. If the property was a shed in a field and Sue had fitted it out with all the things you could ever need as she does we would be happy to stay but in this stunning property what more can I say! There is so much to see and do around Glanoer and you don't even need to drive anywhere, there are great walks that can be accessed straight from the barn. The Barn itself has a great kitchen and living area for relaxing. It's great to put the wood burner on and chill out for the evening. Plenty of places for walking and observing wildlife. Elan Valley near Rhayader is recommended. Further out Powis Castle and gardens are amazing (near Welshpool). Lovely walks by the river Wye at Builth Wells are also great. There is so much to do and see in the area a week will fly by. The view out of the massive windows from the bed in the morning is to die for and to wake to the sound of birds and the country makes for a wonderful start to your day. Our dog Madi thought she was in heaven as all we had to do was to take her across the bridge over the stream then she could have her morning run around the large field. The hosts Sue and Dave make you feel so at home with a well honed knack of giving you space and privacy but bein so friendly and there for you if you need them or just want a chat.
