  • "A lovely Shepherds Hut located in a lovely setting close to the River and the Severn Way Canal, with Red Kites, Buzzards and Pheasants to name but a few birds continuously in the area."

The facilities were great, the Hot Tub did get warm on the only opportunity we had to use it, but not too hot, probably down to user error on our part... Debbie is a wonderful host who messaged every now and again to make sure things were all OK. The bed was very comfortable and it was lovely to wake up with Natures Alarm, the birds singing and a slight breeze coming through the window at the end of the bed. The shower was great, powerful and hot, the towels were of great quality too. Although the weather wasn't the best for our stay, it was still a great place to stay and one that we will surely return to in the future and if you are into Astrophotography, the clear skies are amazing.

Thanks so much for your generous review. We appreciate the time you took to compose it. I am so pleased that you found great joy staying in our shepherd’s hut and fully appreciated the nature around it. We very much look forward to seeing you whenever you plan a visit to us. Property Owner

  • "High standard throughout Shepherds Hut with top quality furnishings, equipment and accessories."

Very informative booklet about the hut, local area and places to visit.Very private. Only thing I felt needed was a couple of chairs ( camping type) that you could relax in by the fire pit. Hosts excellent. They both introduced themselves but left us alone alrhough we knew they were available at any time if we needed them or wanted to ask anything. We would definitely go back and recommend it as a place to stay.

Thank you for your kind and informative review. We’re glad you had a special time with us. There are 2 wooden chairs hanging on the wall of the shepherd hut by the wood burner for use by either inside or outside fires. However following your advice we have decided to add a couple of deck chairs which we will put in the storage chest outside, for easier access. Thank you for your suggestion. We hope you will return one day. Property Owner

Is fully equipped with everything you could think off for your stay. We wanted peace and quiet and thats what we got and more. Perfect with the hot tub, then using the bbq and sitting by the fire of an evening. Was spotless and great communication with the owner. Would highly recommend.

  • "Absolutely beautiful place to stay!"

Myself and my husband stayed 4 nights here for our UK honeymoon and it was so relaxing! The hut was spotless on arrival and Debbie was so helpful providing extra wood when needed and recommending lovely little walks within the area. We spent most of our time relaxing in the hot tub, reading by the fire and getting to know our woolly neighbours! A lovely week I’m the Welsh countryside it was hard to believe we were just a few hours from home!

Thanks for your delightful review and choosing us for your special holiday . If I’d known I would’ve send over a bottle of Prosecco. You were wonderful leaving the hut looking so lovely. I hope you return for your 1st anniversary. Best wishes Property Owner

  • "Owners are lovely people, nothing at all was too much trouble."

Communication was excellent, also advised us of some nice places to eat & what was in the area. The hut was clean & tidy. A lot of thought has gone into the hut, inside & outside! Ground around the hut is so private you would know anyone was around. Thanks again for a nice stay, we’ll be returning soon

Thank you for your superb review. I enjoyed chatting to you and hope to visit your pub when we’re in the area. I was most touched by your thoughtful gift and felt very appreciated. Thanks for leaving the hut so spotless when you left. You are always welcome back Property Owner

  • "Very homely hut packed with all you could need for the stay."

Enjoyed the peace and quiet sitting in the hot tub, while lighting the fire pit for a tranquil evening - plenty of wood for the BBQ too. The host is lovely and even helped us with a couple extra things while we were there to accommodate for the unfortunate weather. I would recommend bringing a citronella candle for the flies though, can't be helped due to the location. Very enjoyable little holiday nonetheless and would definitely recommend.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was super to meet you. Citronella sounds a good idea. Our insurance company doesn’t allow candles in the Shepherds hut but maybe I can find a spray repellent . Will be glad when the flies go! Thank you :) Property Owner

  • "The Balwen hut is lovely , nice and clean in a nice quiet location."

Really enjoyed our stay. The only thing we had a problem with was flies going inside the hut buzzing around us at night this cannot be helped due to the time of year and been in countryside. The area is lovely , the owner was lovely and helpful. definitely recommend :)

Thanks for your lovely review. Sorry about the flies.. we will put our thinking caps on and see if there is a way to limit them in the hut. Tricky in the hot weather with the doors and windows open but we will try. :) We hope you will return again one day. Property Owner

  • "Amazing property !"

! This property is in a secluded plot in a large field, there is everything you need at this location i.e BBQ, Fire pit, wood fired hot tub and a table and chairs with a parasol. The Shepherds Hut is absolutely beautifully done out and has everything you need for your stay. There is a pub a 5 minute walk away which also does lovely food. We met the owner who was very nice and only lived a few yards away in the B&B and was on hand to help if needed. The only negative was the wi-fi it was a bit hit and miss but it was'nt a problem for us because we wanted peace and quiet anyway. Also, the access to the hut could be an issue for people with mobility problems due to the access through the field to get to the hut.

Thank you very much for your wonderful review it is most appreciated. We will work on options to improve the wifi and the path between the field and the hut. We hope you will return again one day. Property Owner
