  • "Great cottage and lovely hosts"

  • "A lovely holiday had by all, facilities the garden was great for our dog, very well maintained and the feel of the place gave a really good vibe."

We had everything we needed, the hosts were on site but never too intrusive, and their two dogs loved their cuddles. The cottage was well placed to visit most of the south west of wales and made for some memorable days by the sea.

The cottage has every possible thing you could need and more and the underfloor heating, especially during a winter stay, was appreciated. It is set back off the village road, very quiet and peaceful with beautiful views out into the rear garden and hills beyond.

In perfect condition and the location was great to access all the beaches. The enclosed garden was also perfect for our two dogs. They could run around we didn't have to worry about them wondering off. The owners were very friendly as were their two dogs. A really good holiday allround.

  • "Lovely location, ideal for those who want to get away from everything."

Lampeter is a must to visit with its shops and the Shapla Indian restaurant is a must. Plenty of things in the garden shed for the kids to play with on the back lawn and a lovely country walk close by (come out of the gates of the main house turn right and just before the bypass bridge there's a small gate). The walks just over an hour and through a small holding where there's goats, sheep, pigs and horses. We did this twice daily as my 3 young boys loved meeting the animals.

! The barn conversion 'Cilgwyn Bach' would attrack anyone and it is so.... beautiful and the layout of the barn is so welcoming too!! The deco and the furnishings are of a high quality. My two dogs were so thrilled to run around the lovely enclosed garden at the back of the cottage. It gave us peace of mind to leave the dogs to enjoy themselves. We had barbecue and the weather too was in our favour lovely and sunny. Most of all the owners Richard and Elenor were so friendly and helpful.Their hospitality definitely stands out!! No doubt we would definitely be happy to re-book this cottage in the future. It was a lovely peaceful and fun holiday to all of us including the furries!

  • "The accommodation was excellent as were the hosts - you have all the facilities you need, the accommodation is situated in a peaceful location set comfortably away from the owners' property, and the hosts are available if required."

Not many of the pubs that serve food in Llandysul were open when we visited ; the Half Moon for example was only open on Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes. We ate at the Daffodil (a 10 minute drive away), the Bunch of Grapes in Newcastle St Emlyn (c20 minute drive), and the Llwyndafydd Inn (around 5 minutes' away). All were dog friendly and served good food with our favourite being The Daffodil. In terms of beaches we visited Llangrannog, Penbryn (take the coastal path to the beach from the car park rather than the road), New Quay, Mwnt (very picturesque), and Poppit Sands. All these beaches are dog friendly outside of 1st May to 30th September, but most are relatively small so best to visit close to low tide.

The converted barn on the owners property is absolutely stunning and still like your own private retreat. The garden is brilliant and completely bomb proof. We have 2 large German Shepherds Axel and Skye and they loved it. Owners are really friendly and their 2 dogs are adorable and came and stayed in with us most of the week and played with our dogs.
