Spend the day in the nearby market town of Oswestry, the largest in Shropshire, with its wonderful boutique shops and excellent restaurants and cafes.
There are plenty of National Trust properties to visit nearby, and with the 10 museums of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site to explore, you’re certain to soak up the culture and history of this spectacular area.

Llanyblodwel is a small rural Shropshire village located in the beautiful Tanat Valley, close to the Offa’s Dyke Path and only one mile from the Welsh border. The village is surrounded by stunning countryside and boasts the Grade I listed St. Michael’s Church and a 15th century pub. Only six miles away is the ancient English border town of Oswestry and the Welsh village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, home to Pistyll Rhaeadr, the UK’s highest single drop waterfall. The whole area is surrounded by lovely countryside, which extends into the Berwyn Mountain Range, perfect for wonderful scenic walks and cycle trails, including along the Berwyn Ridge Pathway, the Offa’s Dyke Path and through the surrounding Tanat and Ceiriog Valleys. Visit the riverside town of Llangollen with the nearby Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (a World Heritage Site), Chirk and Powis Castles and Gardens, Erddig and Attingham Park, or the nearby market town of Ellesmere with its nine meres.
