“Great place to stay pretty location, comfortable accommadation, However the sofa was more comfortable for dogs than humans, Internet poor which is not normally a problem for us, except to vist national trust properties you had to book on line and this made it difficult.”

“Everything was as good as expected, and the surrounding countryside was enchanting.”

Disappointed the hot tub was'nt working properly and the bbq grill was a bit small. Also some of the outside furniture was old and rusty, however none of that detracted from our stay and have happily recommended it to friends.

“Mrs”

A beautiful cottage, very well equipped with huge comfortable beds. Owners very helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Views stunning. It was lovely to look out of the huge windows watching the owners horse and animals. If you want a lovely peaceful break in a fab area go to The Gardners Cottage. Easy access to Barmouth, Welshpool, Lake Vernwy and lots of other places.

“Absolutely lovely”

My family and I spent 4 lovely weeks here in between house moves. The beautiful surroundings and homely atmosphere really helped us relax during a stressful time. The view from the lounge window and patio area are gorgeous. The owners are friendly and welcoming, our youngest daughter cried when we left as she loved it so much. Many thanks to Dave and Suzanne and of course the boys for a really enjoyable month

The property

A traditional, semi-detached cottage, adjoining the owners home on their working equestrian farm, on the edge of the tiny Shropshire village of Llanyblodwel.

Situated close to two other holiday properties, in view of the stunning Tanat Valley, this attractive cottage has been superbly converted to offer a wonderful holiday retreat.

Set in a walled garden and originally part of the gardener's bothy, guests will find two comfortable bedrooms, with the ground floor complete with its own en-suite bathroom and the first floor with a luxury family wet room.

The contemporary kitchen is well equipped and comes with a spacious, sociable dining area boasting traditional features including an oak floor and a high apex roof adorned with open beams.

The sitting room has large picture windows offering extensive views across the grounds to the stunning countryside beyond.

Outside, the property has its own patio area with furniture, perfect for an alfresco feast in the sunshine, and a shared lawned garden with children's play area, both with attractive rural views.

The sleepy little village of Llanyblodwel has an ancient Grade I listed church and a 15th century inn, and sits close to the border with Wales, making this Shropshire cottage a perfect base for discovering this beautiful area.

Within easy reach is the popular Offas Dyke path, whilst footpaths lead from the doorstep and superb mountain biking, golf and fishing all await nearby.

Spend the day in the nearby market town of Oswestry, the largest in Shropshire, with its wonderful boutique shops and excellent restaurants and cafes.

There are plenty of National Trust properties to visit nearby, and with the 10 museums of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site to explore, you are certain to soak up the culture and history of this spectacular area.

Whatever you get up to during your Shropshire holiday, this cottage is the ideal retreat to return to.

Llanyblodwel is a small rural Shropshire village located in the beautiful Tanat Valley, close to the Offa’s Dyke Path and only one mile from the Welsh border. The village is surrounded by stunning countryside and boasts the Grade I listed St. Michael’s Church and a 15th century pub. Only six miles away is the ancient English border town of Oswestry and the Welsh village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, home to Pistyll Rhaeadr, the UK’s highest single drop waterfall.
