  • "Stunning period property, location, facilities and top notch owners, John and Nic, who didn't fail in their friendliness, knowledge of the area and personal touches on arrival and throughout our 2 week stay - they were never intrusive."

Daily visits from Robert the Robin and Thumper the Rabbit, really made us feel we were in a rural piece of natural heaven. From the house, we (myself, husband, daughter 18 and son 12), visited most of the Snowdonia National Park; white water rafting, Conwy Castle, Lyn Cau glacial lake and local stunning Harlech beach, never too busy with golden sands and clear waters with mountains as a backdrop. Local waterfalls also v.nearby and worth a visit. Recommendations from John and Nic to go to Sheila's sea view eaterie, was a 'wow' moment for us - a very special evening watching the sun set. In a nutshell, you are ideally placed for either beach or mountain jaunts, in a stunning location and in an immaculate property, that will not disappoint and I am a real fusspot! This experience was the difference between ordinary and extraordinary. We were sad to leave, says it all. Thanks again John and Nic, xx

  • "Really beautiful cottage in an excellent location."

The owners are lovely - very friendly and helpful. The cottage is very comfortable and nice big kitchen if you feel like cooking. It’s a lovely walk to the beach, a 5km walk (or jog !) to Harlech castle (or a few mins in car) and slate mine is even closer. Harlech itself has coffee shops, restaurants and interesting little shops. Further North you have Portmeirion, Caernafon castle, and Snowdonia (walking and steam trains recommended). South is Barmouth - lots of places to eat and a big beach. You’re near enough everything by car. I would highly recommend.

I always think it’s a good sign when you feel ‘house-envy’ from the moment you first see your holiday home: we were not disappointed on stepping inside. John and Nicole are the perfect hosts and offered as much information and top tips as we needed ( their ideas, especially about local chefs and places to visit, were invaluable). They also left some little extras when we arrived which was so thoughtful. Close to the beach, we enjoyed our walk over the fields to picnic and paddle in the sea with the spectacular backdrop of Snowdonia. Having a tennis court 20 metres from the front door was a welcome bonus. In short, a wonderful holiday and we are sure to stay again.

The owners Nicole and John are wonderful, nothing is too much for them! We were very much welcomed and felt straight at home! We did not want to leave but sadly had to get back to work. Their property is outstanding, in acres of peaceful land, my husband and I very much like the great outdoors so this was perfect. The interior was perfectly clean and well presented. Everything was warm and welcoming including the hosts. It was such a charming cottage set in very pretty grounds, that served as a frame for the sea view that was set in the distance. The welcome pack had everything I needed for my first night Including a log burner all prepared and ready for swift lighting, tea, coffee, eggs, milk, bread and Bara Brith. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with every possible item you could need and the furnishings throughout the cottage were all clean, tasteful and comfortable. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the warm cosy nights just flew by all too soon. It was a very calming and relaxing week, supported by the comfort of this beautiful cottage, the ever so helpful hosts and the beautiful Harlech coast. I will go back without any doubt at all. John and Nicole are very warm and welcoming hosts, they provided an excellent and very generous welcome pack of local produce, which had us settled in within minutes of arrival. The wine provided was enjoyed later in the evening in the cosy kitchen warmed by the Aga, which was actually very easy to use! The photos of the cottage whilst accurate, hardly do the interior justice. It is obvious that alot of thought and hardwork has gone into making the cottage a beautiful home from home. We go to luxury cottages all over the UK at least 4 times a year and this has definitely been one of the nicest we have ever stayed in!

I don't think the photos did it justice and I was overwhelmed when we were shown round by the owners , who were very welcoming and hospitable . A lot of thought had gone into the décor which was very tasteful and the amenities were great, including the tennis court. The cottage is ideally situated to visit many interesting places by car. There is a train stop a short walk away over a field giving access to Pwllheli in the north and Machynlleth to the south and all the small towns in between. The beach is within walking distance across the same field. Harlech is a nice small town with the castle to visit and several eating places and only 30 minutes walk away or less by car! Set in 6 acres of lovely gardens/woodland, this is a perfect retreat for those who enjoy the good things in life. Frankly, this isn't really a holiday cottage, but more like staying at a well appointed country hotel. The views are wonderful, it's very quiet (but not cut off), and the cottage is tastefully decorated throughout. We were extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage, as well as a wonderfully stocked kitchen. You could have held a good size party in the kitchen, and still not have run out of glasses...(and trust me we tried most nights). The Aga was a joy to cook on, and we cooked a wonderful beef Sunday lunch. All of the rooms are of a good size, although we spent a lot of time in the kitchen! Wonderfully comfortable beds, perfect after an evening of eating and drinking (mainly drinking!). We were a little concerned that the owners were on site, as we enjoy our privacy, but do not be put off! John and Nic were fabulous hosts, there to welcome you upon arrival, and nearby should you need them. However, the cottage is very private, and you aren't even aware of anybody else being present on the estate. This is a first class establishment, and is without doubt one of the most perfect cottages that we have ever been lucky enough to stay in. There is absolutely no doubt at all, that when we return to North Wales, Bwthyn Morse will be the first place on out shortlist. A shortlist of one. If you are looking for an incredibly well appointed cottage, with the cosiness off a wood burner, in a tranquil spot, look no further, because you have just found it.

The house itself is beautiful and nestled in an attractive setting of woodland, gardens and fields. A cross country wall leads to a local beach and harbour.
