  • "Fantastic property, exactly as it appears in pictures."

Wonderful friendly and helpful owners who provided recommendations. Property located off the road so wonderfully quiet but perfectly positioned for North west Wales attractions and beautiful beaches / National Park. It was a pleasure to come back to a beautifully warm and comfortable house after a day walking and exploring. Highly recommended.

  • "We had a lovely stay at this little gem of a cottage !"

We arrived at the cottage late into the evening, John and Nicole (and Ruby, the dog) were super helpful in ensuring we could find the property in the dark and were warm and welcoming on arrival and throughout our stay ensuring we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable , they had even left a welcome pack with essentials which was gratefully received after a late journey! The cottage was as splendid inside as it was charming on the outside , it was warm and toasty on arrival ,very clean and decorated to a high standard , the ambient lighting and log burner made it so very snug in the evenings and the warmth of the Aga gave that lovely warm, toasty feeling in the kitchen . Our 9 year old loved exploring ,the tennis court was fantastic and he was delighted to discover the zip wire in the orchard , a short walk to the beach over the fields was ideal and after a day exploring and getting muddy the shower was so refreshing with great water pressure or a hot soak in the deep roll top bath for me was a must ! The beds were huge and so comfortable , there was plenty of space for our belongings and the views of the rabbits hopping around and the sound of the birds tweeting in the morning was delightful ! We did not want to leave this little gem but all good things must come to an end , we will however certainly be returning !

We had everything we needed. The welcome pack was most appreciated. Clear instructions about recycling and end of stay were provided. The cottage is well situated for getting into Harlech either on foot or by car and for visiting other areas such as Barmouth. It was very quiet and, as the listing said, owls could be heard.

I loved the kitchen in particular with the Aga although in the middle of summer it would probably be best switched off. It is very near to a beach with a lovely café that sells snacks and drinks, and a very old chapel for those of us who likes such things. Harlech is great with it's little shops and of course the castle. We were blessed with good weather and came home to rain. We hope to go back to Bwthyn Morse some time.

Daily visits from Robert the Robin and Thumper the Rabbit, really made us feel we were in a rural piece of natural heaven. From the house, we (myself, husband, daughter 18 and son 12), visited most of the Snowdonia National Park; white water rafting, Conwy Castle, Lyn Cau glacial lake and local stunning Harlech beach, never too busy with golden sands and clear waters with mountains as a backdrop. Local waterfalls also v.nearby and worth a visit. Recommendations from John and Nic to go to Sheila's sea view eaterie, was a 'wow' moment for us - a very special evening watching the sun set. In a nutshell, you are ideally placed for either beach or mountain jaunts, in a stunning location and in an immaculate property, that will not disappoint and I am a real fusspot! This experience was the difference between ordinary and extraordinary. We were sad to leave, says it all. Thanks again John and Nic, xx

There is a train stop a short walk away over a field giving access to Pwllheli in the north and Machynlleth to the south and all the small towns in between. Set in 6 acres of lovely gardens/woodland, this is a perfect retreat for those who enjoy the good things in life. Frankly, this isn't really a holiday cottage, but more like staying at a well appointed country hotel. The views are wonderful, it's very quiet (but not cut off), and the cottage is tastefully decorated throughout. We were extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage, as well as a wonderfully stocked kitchen. You could have held a good size party in the kitchen, and still not have run out of glasses...(and trust me we tried most nights). The Aga was a joy to cook on, and we cooked a wonderful beef Sunday lunch. All of the rooms are of a good size, although we spent a lot of time in the kitchen! Wonderfully comfortable beds, perfect after an evening of eating and drinking (mainly drinking!). We were a little concerned that the owners were on site, as we enjoy our privacy, but do not be put off! John and Nic were fabulous hosts, there to welcome you upon arrival, and nearby should you need them. However, the cottage is very private, and you aren't even aware of anybody else being present on the estate. This is a first class establishment, and is without doubt one of the most perfect cottages that we have ever been lucky enough to stay in. There is absolutely no doubt at all, that when we return to North Wales, Bwthyn Morse will be the first place on out shortlist. A shortlist of one. If you are looking for an incredibly well appointed cottage, with the cosiness off a wood burner, in a tranquil spot, look no further, because you have just found it.

The property

A beautiful double fronted, Grade II listed Georgian cottage, in a peaceful location, secluded yet not isolated, the cottage is on the outskirts of the coastal village of Llanfair, on the fringes of the Snowdonia National Park, with the historic castle town of Harlech, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, just a mile away.

North Wales' coast and mountains are two of its most valuable assets, and you can enjoy both of them from this charming cottage.

Lying within the grounds of the owners' own home, the cottage forms part of their small country estate with tennis court, woodland, gardens and extensive lawns, it's a fantastic holiday home for a couple, friends or a family looking for a relaxing, peaceful holiday.

Lovingly and sympathetically renovated to a high standard, the cottage is beautifully maintained and well presented with great attention to detail and original features.

In the well stocked kitchen, warmed by the AGA cooking range, you'll find fresh herbs picked from the owners’ garden.

The dining room has views across the lawns and gardens and after dinner, you can curl up in front of the wood burning stove in the stylish, comfortable sitting room.

Upstairs, two beautifully styled bedrooms have large, sumptuous beds and views over the gardens.

One bedroom has a super king-size bed which can be divided into two singles.

Just off the split level landing, the bathroom, with its roll top bath and separate big drench shower, comes with fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries.

For an extra bit of pampering, the owners can arrange a manicure, massage or even a holiday haircut in the comfort of your cottage.

This is the perfect place to sit back, let your shoulders drop and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this stunning place.

Take a stroll around the gardens and woodland, enjoy a game of tennis, or just relax on the lawn with a drink as you look out over the countryside.

With little light pollution, you can stargaze long into the night, and if you’re lucky, you’ll hear the owls wake up as you wind down.

There's lots to do around the area.

The nearest beach is a stroll across the fields, or a two minute drive.

Harlech, with its castle, stunning beach and world famous links golf course, Royal St. Davids, is just over a mile away.

The breathtaking Snowdonia National Park is right on your doorstep, and the seaside resorts of Barmouth and Criccieth are also within easy reach.

There’s also Porthmadog, where you can hop onto the Ffestiniog railway, sit back, and enjoy the stunning scenery and be taken back in time as the world famous steam train chugs its way through the mountains.

Portmeirion is also nearby, with its magical Italianate village overlooking the white sandy beaches of the Dwyryd Estuary.

For the more adventurous, there's also lots to do, from cycling (the cottage is right on Cycle Route 8) and pony trekking, to the famous Zip World, with its 100 mile per hour ride.

This is a perfect location from which to explore this delightful area any time of the year.
