  • "Really comfortable and cosy -nice x warm especially when it rains!"

would be useful to have a list of local shops and attractions eg. the café on the beach - maybe a visitors book for recommendations

  • "This property proved ideal for me, holidaying alone and revisiting places from my boyhood as a scout camping in the village around 55-60 years ago."

A 20 minute walk to the mainline station at Llandanwg gave me access to Pwllheli one way and Machynlleth the other. The sandy beach down the zig-zag cliff path gave safe swimming and the panoramic walk to Harlech and then back via the beach meant I rarely used the car. When I did it was for the short drive to Cwm Bychan and a day long hike in the Rhinogs, up the Roman steps. Taking food supplies for my stay meant I did not need to shop and the property had all the amenities I needed. The roof terrace was a pleasant place to relax in the evening with extensive views. The weather was superb but I had packed waterproofs so could have had an enjoyable stay if I had been less fortunate. Eryl and Catalina were excellent hosts, available but not intrusive.

  • "A lovely comfortable place to stay."

Everything we needed. Bed comfy and shower powerful and lovely. Owners were really helpful and friendly. Roof terrace was lovely place to relax after a days outing. Lovely views. We didn't want to come home .

  • "It is a nice little studio with all the facilities you need."

Elevated, giving acces to lovely views and situated on a quiet dead end street. We made nice walks through the area, walking to Harlich Castle being possible. A deck on the roof of the studio with a beautiful view overlooking the bay. Eryl and Catalina are friendly hosts. We can recommend a stay on the coast of Wales for a reasonable price.

  • "On arrival Eryl and Catalina were very welcoming and friendly, showing us around the accommodation, explaining how things worked."

For us the studio was exactly what we wanted and would suit a couple for a weeks walking holiday, which is what we did. The studio was incredibly clean, with many extras provided, such as washing up liquid, loo roll, hand wash etc. The accommodation was cosy with enough room for two but as we were out all day, we used it as a base to sleep, eat and shower which was perfect for our needs. The bonus was the rooftop terrace with amazing views of the coast and being lucky with the weather we were able to use the terrace several times during our stay. Many thanks for a lovely week.

  • "I stayed for 1 week at Maesawel Studio Llanfair, near Harlech,Wales."

Booking with Sykes was seamless and I had no issues. In line with other reviews the studio is compact but was clean and had everything I needed for a weeks stay. The roof terrace is definitely the ace in the pack. As the weather was very good it was a pleasure to sit up there where there is a very nice rattan table and 4 chairs. The views are wonderful. (Be aware though, the 12/13 steps to the terrace are external and perhaps not ideal if you have mobility issues. You can walk to Harlech using the old Llanfair road ( from the property turn right at the bottom of the road and just keep going straight on. A gentle walk will take about 25 minutes to get you there. The Harlech Castle cafe is superb with fantastic views. You do not have to go Into the castle to use the cafe. Definitely worth a visit. Llandanwg beach ( Pronounced Llandanrog) is also well worth a visit. The beach cafe is great with nice coffee and friendly staff. Well worth a stop off. If you walk it will take about 25 minutes. From the property turn right at the bottom of the road and at the top of the road turn left. The bus stop will be on the left also, walk to the end of the road cross the main road and carry straight on. Bus 38/9 goes into Harlech. £1.40 one way. There is a bus every hour I used the 10:15am , but be aware the last bus back is 15:15. The owners are very friendly and approachable. I have given 4 stars because the property is a little dated but I would definitely stay again.

  • "Very friendly hosts."

Studio was exactly as specified and ideal for us. Has a lovely roof terrace with views. You can cook basic meals there but no oven. No problem for us since able to get food that didn’t require an oven. Close to a huge range of lovely walks - many with outstanding views and not too difficult- eg Panorama walk, Precipice walk.

  • "Lack of facilities."

Nothing to cook with in microwave, a bowl to heat soup or heat food would be useful. I had to buy items. I found an iron in the shed which I borrowed but no ironing board. Did not like landlady coming in without our knowledge during the week, she said she needed to hoover.

Thank you for your feedback. I can confirm that we feel the dishes in the property are suitable for the microwave. The iron you found in the shed was in there as we felt it was dangerous to use, this is why we placed it in the shed. As you were staying for 2 weeks my wife offered to clean it during your stay and you agreed to this. Property Owner

Although being 6'4" is somewhat restricting in the toilet/washroom and shower. Apart from this I would recommend this apartment for the single traveller as a good base. Thanks go to Eryl and Catalina for a warm welcome.

  • "We just had a fabulous week in Wales, my first time, and we chose to stay in Lanfair."

The acommodation was lovely, all on one level, bit like being in a caravan. There is a roof terrace which we used a lot as the weather was so nice. Although the rooms didn't have a washing machine, we had access to one and a freezer. The owners met us as we got out of the car and gave us a lovely warm welcome. We saw them every day, but they didn't interfere. Just asked if we needed anything. Really lovely friendly couple and if we decide to visit that part of Wales again we will definitely stay there. Thanks to them my first experience of Wales was perfect. Highly recommend.

  • "Great spot, nice clean spacious room, everything worked, grand little rooftop terrace thing above to sit with a beer and watch the sunset over the water."

Easy checkin, friendly hosts, key collection and checkin is a breeze as the hosts live next door. I recommend the location if you've got a car, we drove around Snowdon national park, Harlech castle and lots of walks along the beach and the cottage is well positioned for both mountains and beach, the latter being closer than the former. It's not as cheap as other options on different booking platforms, but we left booking a bit late and it's worth the money. Highly recommended.
