  • "The property was perfect, very clean, comfortable and well stocked."

The views were breathtaking and it is a gorgeous place that I’m glad to have found when looking for a place to stay. The only thing that stops me from coming back is just how tight it is to access the parking. I managed ok as I am a confident driver but not many people would and if they can’t then it is a steep uphill walk to get to the house which isn’t easy when you’ve got luggage or shopping. Overall though I was very pleased and we all enjoyed our stay very much, especially watching the gorgeous sunset right from the sofa.

Thank you so much for your feedback, Karyn, and I'm really pleased you enjoyed your stay and liked the house. As regards parking, it's true that it isn't ideal, and unfortunately there's nothing we can do to remedy that; what we always do ourselves, though, if we are parking down at the swimming pool, is to pull in just parallel to the entrance to the terrace, unload our shopping or luggage into the house (and also drop off any less-mobile members of the party), and then just one person drive down and park. We find that works well. Property Owner

Well furnished and plenty of room without tripping over each other. The hosts communication was clear and where possible every accomodation was made. Plenty to do and explore in the area, you can set your own pace.

  • "Arrived back after a week at Bronwen terrace and already looking to book again."

The house itself is fabulous not only with spectacular views over Royal St Davids golf course and the sea but it,s virtually next to the castle. Inside Bronwen terrace didn't disappoint truly a home from home. Large parties catered well for with nothing of short supply. The owners were promptly on hand with a couple of questions which made our experience at Bronwen terrace superb. Would definitely recommend. Harlech itself has a couple of shops, takeaways, restaurants and a friendly pub all of which due to the time of year had limited opening times but this didn't cause us any problems. Dogs were welcomed too.

  • "The house is beautiful, well maintained and comfortable."

There is plenty of space and fantastic views. Our stay was marred a little by the weather and family illness, and although we were well aware of the parking issues before we came, the daily walk to and from the car at the leisure centre made the trip a little less relaxing than we had hoped. This is no fault of the house, or the owners and housekeeper, who were lovely, but it is worth bearing in mind if the weather is poor or you are less mobile. We will come back though, as the house is a wonderful place to stay.

  • "As it says the narrow entrance into the terrace area is very tight, we unloaded/reloaded car outside entrance gate, the road is only used by the local properties so quiet."

We parked car at the small sports centre car park which you look down on from the property, it’s about 10 min walk back up the hill. The old part of town does have steep hills so you will get fit! The local restaurants & the fish & chip shop were all very good. The walk across the golf course is easy then a lovely long beach which our dogs had a great time. The property is just as described with super views. Good base not too far to drive for the mountains or the Titian 2 zip wire at Blaenau Ffestiniog, which is well worth a go.

  • "Everywhere was closed in Harlech when we arrived couldn’t get a evening meal anyway very disappointing had to book two days in advance for any kind of evening meal in Harlech itself."

Cottage was lovely and views where wonderful but there were maintenance issues also house keeping was not done to the best standards. I would also like to point out the shower cubicles are in need of shower mats because they are very slippery and could cause a fall.

  • "Great place for a weekend holiday."

If is had been poor weather this may have been a little less attractive as some of its beauty is the amazing views. Our only gripe is that the cooker hob is challenging to cook on and also it would be nice if the overgrown bushes in front of the property, could be cut back once they get to high. I managed to so this myself but was unable to reach all branches. Other than this a lovely house, area etc. Parking is an issue but we new that going in and manage accordingly.

The residence is very clean and has everything you need. The area of Harlech is run down with limited amenities but was able to travel to other areas near by for evening meals , supplies ect.

  • "Spectacular!"

That's the only way to describe the views from 3 Bronwen Terrace. We've enjoyed the most amazing 4 days in North Wales & this was the perfect location for Harlech, Portmeirion, Barmouth & Caernarfon. The house is fully equipped, clean & fresh and we loved the real fire of an evening. Reverse parking was not easy & up hill but we managed so I'm sure others will. Parking at the front of the house does spoil the view so we'd recommend use of the swimming pool parking lot. An excellent trip made even more pleasant by 3 Bronwen Terrace. Highly recommended.

  • "Had a lovely time at this accommodation, with its spectacular views of the beach and Harlech castle, ideally situated in the centre of town and to all amenities."

A home from home, very comfortable and clean. Used the washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher, which was all very handy. Used as a base to visit surrounding areas, Portmeirion, Caernarfon, Barmouth to name a few and of course Snowdon itself which was very majestic all be it a bit busy. Booked onto Zip World (Slate Caverns) which is not for the faint hearted but well worth it along with other activities that they offer for all ages. I would recommend this cottage and I would like to return again in the future.

Not often I have no complaints, but not even the parking (which is ‘tight’) would put me off booking again. Thank you

  • "The property had a superb view over the golf course and out to sea, car parking required a very small car so had to park at swimming pool parking tickets supplied for two vehicles, with parking being so restricted the walk back up to the property would not suit people who were not fit as it is very steep."

We did have a problem with the dining room which we could not use due to a strong odour this we reported to the owners who said they would investigate.

  • "This house is all about the stunning views across the sea to the Lleyn peninsula."

The house itself is comfortable and provides ample accommodation with its four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The location is very good with easy access to a wonderful beach. We decided to abandon our car for the week and take the train from the station at the bottom of the hill to explore the local area. The only criticism I have of the property is that it’s practically impossible to get your car onto the allocated parking space, as the entrance to the property is so narrow.

  • "Thank you for 3 Bronwen Terrace!"

After a long drive up from Dorset I was victorious in reversing through the stone gateway in our Seat Alhambra! What a relief! The house is light, clean, comfortable, spacious, well equipped and in the most enviable location being 5 mins walk to the castle, restaurants and shops, 15 mins walk to the vast beach. Comfortable beds, luxorious bathrooms and extra utility meant I could iron all the wedding outfits in total comfort! It was a big treat forour family of 6, attending my brother's Wedding in the small church just a stroll away and reception in the Memorial Hall, also a couple mins stroll away. We could pop back and get changed as the party progressed! I noticed people walking would pause and stand on 'our' driveway as they passed on the hill, to enjoy the view. The table and chairs at the front of the house were well used on dry days, and drizzly days!. you can't beat that view! The perfect place to share a bottle of wine with family and friends. Sea, mountains, castle! We also enjoyed watching all the crows, jackdaws and swifts whirling around from our elevated position as they got ready to roost. Well worth the stretch in our budget.. if we could afford it again we would definitely return to Bronwen Terrace. Cheers!

  • "The extremely steep nature of the surrounding streets and parking difficulties could be explained better."

If we hadn't been very lucky with the parking situation my 97 year old Mother-in-Law wouldn't have been able to walk from the allocated parking in the local swimming pool car park. Apart from these points the holiday was very good, the views from the house are spectacular and the weather was brilliant. The people are really friendly and helpful and the castle is magnificent.

  • "This holiday was a return to a much loved area after a number of years."

Not only did we really enjoy Harlech again, but the house introduced us to new areas, and gave us the best possible view of the Castle as well as fantastic sunsets. Sadly not even the view could make the hill any easier, nor take away the impossibility of getting the car through the gates onto the terrace. But even that had a silver lining - we had an uninterrupted view from the living room! The house had a seemingly endless supply of necessary and ever so useful rooms, and being able to get out at first floor level to the back entry was great for luggage moving. The parking passes at the Leisure Centre solved the parking problem, and added to our fitness. We would love to go again, and this house would be an important part of any future trip.

  • "3 Bronwen Terrace was the ideal rental to accommodate our family during the Christmas period."

The house, rooms, and facilities were perfect with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. My son cooked a splendid Christmas lunch for nine people in the well appointed kitchen and there was plenty of fridge and freezer space available for all that. We were welcomed in style with a decorated Christmas tree, festive lights and decorations and complimentary wine, Welsh cakes and chocolates. It is a spacious but cosy property with superb views over Cardigan Bay..

  • "Reversing a car through the very narrow entrance is almost impossible."

I damaged the wing mirrors getting in and it takes another person to assist in the whole process. This parking problem should have been highlighted more clearly. There was no toilet paper in any of the bathrooms, not great after a 5 hour drive. The towels were tiny , why no bath towels? The dishwasher hadn't been emptied! Are new guests being used as part of the cleaning regime? The views from the front are very impressive, however, the back of the house is very dark and the dining room bleak.

  • "The house was very comfortable and well equipped but the tumble dryer did not produce any hot air and as a consequence did not work."

There are no bolts on the toilet and bathroom doors, I noticed in the visitors book that this wasmentioned by several guests also. With 8 people including small children in the house, locks are a basic requirement. The extreme difficulty in parking anything other than a small car should perhaps be mentioned in your details. Other than this the house was very satisfactory.

The property

A fantastic Victorian terraced house is nestled on the seaward facing slopes on one of the oldest and steepest hills, known as Twtil in the centre of Harlech, with unrivalled panoramic vistas over the golf course and sand dunes to Tremadog Bay, across to the Llyn Peninsula and beyond.

One of eight properties that form this iconic row of Victorian houses, 3 Bronwen Terrace offers spacious family accommodation arranged over three floors with many of the rooms enjoying fantastic sea views.

Renovated to a good standard, with a fantastic oak finish used throughout.

A lovely sitting room with large bay window frames that magnificent view and is a great place to sit and relax, and once you’ve watched the sun set down into the sea, the open fire offers a warming glow and relaxing atmosphere.

The adjoining dining room is just perfect for a family get together and the kitchen is fully fitted with plenty of cupboards and space, with all the facilities you’d expect to have to cater for all your needs.

There are four bedrooms in total, two double bedrooms on the first floor including what would probably be described as the master bedroom with a sofa, king-size bed and wonderful sea views, and a further two bedrooms on the second floor, a king-size and a twin.

There are two designer bathrooms on each of the upper floors, one of which is rather lavish and has a double ended roll-top bath, separate double shower, marble flooring with underfloor heating and exposed stone walls, the other with a large shower cubicle and the best view of the house!

The area around this Harlech cottage offers many activities, with Harlech's magnificent sandy beach and the famous Royal St. David's Golf Club just down the hill, the CADW Medieval Castle just up the hill and the mountains of Snowdonia an easy drive away.

A lovely, central location, with stunning views makes this a fabulous place to return to after a day out and about, relax with family and friends all year round.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
