  • "Me and my partner stayed for two days, beautiful apartment."

The kitchen blinds fell down on our stay. Property is way too hot but overall lovely place lots of walks and fell in love with charming village

  • "This is an apartment we have returned to."

It suits us well , interesting location, comfortable and with good local facilities. It is let down by poor maintenance and paucity of equipment. Our stay was spoilt by the failure of the toilet flush mechanism which was eventually replaced on our 5th day. The Cadw staff on site were very helpful and did their best to repair it but it had clearly been bodged before. The apartment needs a bit of refreshment, eg the pointing to the kitchen floor needs repair and the oven doesn't seem to work on fan. There is insufficient cutlery to make best use of the dishwasher.

  • "As per out telephone conversation."

This is an amazing apartment that needs some care. The support for the lovely blind in the kitchen is not man enough for the weight of the blind, and we felt that we had to take the weight of the blind by holding the bottom while operating the chain. The sash windows need attention. One has a brass finger riser missing and can’t be opened. When closing another window the brass locking assembly fell off and bruised my arm. All the widows need maintenance. There needs to be an update on information. We found that the shower control outer ring controls the water flow so the bathroom floor doesn’t flood, but had to phone to find out about the pillow vibrators. Even after the tv signal connector had been remade the tv still cut out occasionally with “No Signal” message. We just left it and the signal restored on its own. Could we please have more crockery and cutlery, four of everything is not enough especially if we have a dishwasher, and in fact there were only three desert spoons. The car parking space was invaluable as we joined others watching the many and varied attempts at parking in the paid spaces. We hope to return to this lovely apartment and hope that it receives some talc in the meantime. Photos are available to back up my comments if you want them.

Phoned for help and assured it was OK without a permit. Bathroom shower top broken, so water from shower spread all over the floor. Twice the toilet flush broke. Spent time fixing it and noting the public toilets nearby! At £200 a night we shouldn't have to do this. Great location, nice welcome pack and very comfy beds

  • "We had a very enjoyable stay in Bendigeifran apartment for 2 weeks."

However we felt the towels should have been changed after a week automatically. The tap in the kitchen dripped constantly - the Team manager described it as water torture! He attended to the defunct shower. This was extremely uncomfortable considering the heatwave. We were grateful that the shower was sorted very quickly within the day - please pass on our thanks. In the heat we were disappointed that not all the sash windows were fully operable.

  • "Great appartment, great location."

Our stay was only tarnished upon arrival by the foul smell coming from the fridge. We had to strip and clean the fridge as we found that milk had been spilt in the fridge and then the fridge had been switched off, long hairs were also found in the ice compartment - perhaps from being wiped with an unclean used general cleaning cloth. We got some disinfectant and fortunately we managed to eventually clear the stench. Not a pleasant or ideal start to our stay, however we would stay again.

  • "Lovely apartment, very clean, everything you could need."

Superb views. Unfortunately we had no hot water on the first morning of our stay which was quickly sorted. Then the key pad to the entrance door stopped working which was also repaired but did cause some issues. All the staff we met were very helpful and polite. Despite these problems I would still recommend this property it is very good value for money and a super place to stay.

  • "I really love staying at this apartment & have already booked to come again."

However I think 6.00pm is way too late a check in time. Pre covid it was 4.00pm and really needs to revert back to that. Harlech is a remote place, this is part of its attraction. However such a late arrival does not make for a good start to a holiday. That's day 1 gone. I was told that it was because of your cleaning contract. I would point out that the cleaners will be local people and have not travelled the miles like us your customers. So please revert check in time to 4.00 and prioritise your customers. Other than this, a lovely stay. Nice to see brand new frying pand in the kitchen and a full complement of other equipment. The 2 chairs in the window need to be cleaned as they have multiple stains on them. They are very comfortable but just need a clean.

  • "We had a wonderful break at Harlech apartments, staying in the Bendigeidfran apartment."

It was during the latest heatwave so the weather was fantastic and the apartment was lovely and cool as there are lots of windows to open to get a breeze through. The apartment was spacious and clean, the bed was huge and the nights silent so we got very good nights sleep. There was a great view of the castle from the window. When we arrived and spoke to the nice staff at the castle, we were informed that as residents we could visit the castle at any time it was open, and we could get a CADW pass that would let us visit CADW attractions for three days over a seven day period. Parking was never a problem as there is a reserved section for residents. There were good facilities for us to cook, and the Chinese and Indian take-aways were handy, the Indian food was very good.

.pilling and worn out. Water problem which was when we first arrived was bad although Menai responded well it was not good enough….soft furnishing blinds need repairing. Bathroom pongs and is unpleasant…..could do with chopping boards and a little more cutlery in kitchen. Harlech Castle apartments are delightful and in a great position re the Castle and the sea but maintenance needs to be improved…it’s a pity to lose these good apartments because of the plumbing. We have stayed in different apartments in the same building over the years.

They are of the highest standard. Parking facilities are excellent. Our only disappointment as mentioned in a previous review was the quality of the pans etc. The frying pans were almost unusable due to a previous visitor scratching the bottoms with a knife! They definitely need replacing. Otherwise would definitely recommend and hope to return sometime.

A beautiful lounge area where we especially enjoyed sitting in the window alcove looking across to Harlech Castle. Comfortable bed and so very quiet. The shower takes a long time for the hot water to arrive but once you know that you can let it run before stepping in. Kitchen is compact and would benefit from a little more cutlery and crockery but otherwise well equipped. Spotlessly clean. Altogether a great place to stay.

It was so lovely to have throws and cushions returned after covid. A few things to attend to...the small lamp didn't work, probably just a bulb but that's so easy fir someone to check and it wasn't checked. 3 of the lights in the bathroom did not work so they need replacing. The bathroom as a result was a bit gloomy. Again this is so easy to check before we go in but it wasn't done. There were no fryingboans in the kitchen. I stayed here in June and there were 2 frying pans. I was very lucky that cleaners were in half way through my week servicing another flat so I told them and they produced 2 brand new frying pans. Hiw lucky! All these things need to be checked before the flat is occupied. The flat is self catering and at an off peak season there is a real scarcity of eating out places to go to. It would really help if an inventory of kitchen equipment was done on a regular basis. Other than these few niggles we had a marvellous week and have already booked 2 weeks for next year. However I would need to feel a bit more confident now that the flat is properly equipped.

A reserved parking space was much appreciated and we took advantage of free entry into the castle without booking. The Cheese Market delicatessen across the road was excellent although opening hours were limited. The building and apartment are well equipped for anyone needing facilities for disability. On the negative side opening the outer windows is rather hit and miss. It was extremely hot when we were there and some outer windows couldn't be opened or had limited opening. Provision of certain key items was random. There was washing up liquid but no dishwasher tablets. No handwash. A dishcloth but no other cleaning materials. Instructions were limited. There is an impressive recycling box but no information about colour coding so we had no idea how to use it or where to put recycled materials. None of these issues would stop us from returning or recommending the accommodation to others but it means we cannot give the accommodation a 5 star rating.

However there are some items that we think you should be aware of. In the bathroom there was no loo roll holder and very little loo roll supplied, no shelves, and no electric heated towel rail despite your listing stating that there was. The towel rail was just a rack positioned in front of a heater which hardly ever came on. Your listing also stated that there would be soap and shower gel but there was none. Nearly every place we have stayed has had a wall mounted shower dispenser and liquid soap so not to have these in a luxury apartment is ridiculous. In the kitchen there was no storage for food which is very strange in a self catering apartment. Your listing states that you supply towels but there was not one in the kitchen. A tray in the kitchen would also be helpful. The cafe in the visitor centre was absolutely perfect. The range of food was superb and at reasonable prices and the staff were extremely helpful and flexible. The environment was very pleasant both inside and on the terrace.

I appreciate that these aren't compulsory, but we vists quite a few self catering lets and the extra 'Welcome Pack' makes a big impression. Other than this, the Apartment was lovely. With regard to Harlech itself, we were a little taken aback by how little there is in the town, no Pubs and quite a number of businesses for sale or closed down, which was quite sad, as the castle is so majestic.
