Parking convenient to back of property and also free added bonus. The cottage had everything we needed, was a lovely location, clean and spacious.

  • "Had a wonderful week at the cottage."

Very comfortable and modern. Great it was dog friendly too! Had everything you needed for a relaxing stay. The wood burner was a bonus which we had on every night. Harlech beach was only a short drive away and it was ideally situated for visiting all of North Wales. Car parking wasn’t an issue as the car park behind the cottage was free from 4.30pm to 10am the next day. We just parked up and entered the cottage from the back door. There is a small free car park just round corner, very easily found. We would definitely recommend to stay here if visiting Wales again.

Felt like home the second we walked in. Everywhere felt fresh and clean and everything provided you could possibly need. The cottage has been skilfully renovated using all the space to good effect whilst retaining its cosy authentic appeal. Harlech itself is something quite special. The beach and castle, views in all directions, super cafes and bars, independent shops selling local things, the friendliest people and more walks from the doorstep than we could do in a week.

Set in the centre of Harlech in a great location. Easy access to walk to the beautiful sandy beach. We were able to do many walks from the house and there was a really convenient place to walk the dog just a few minutes away. There is so much to see and visit both in Harlech and the surrounding area. The guest folder had all the local information we needed. The cottage was really well equipped with everything you could need. Beautifully renovated and decorated throughout and very comfortable beds. Friendly neighbours. Great fish and chip shop at the end of the road! Handy car park at the back of the house. Lovely relaxing stay, looking forward to returning! Thanks

We had a wonderful week at Min Y Coed, helped by the beautiful weather. The cottage is small but very well equipped and extremely comfortable. Parking was no issue with a pay and display car park at the back door, which was free between 4.30pm and 10am. Ideally located opposite the fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway, and a 5 minute amble from the castle and other amenities. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

The photos and description are accurate. The kitchen is very small but we had no issues with it and it was very well equipped. We used the little seating area at the front although being in the town centre, down a side lane, it has no view. There were no problems with parking. We always found a space in the free car park round the corner and were able to load and unload the car at the cottage’s back door. Very clean, comfortable beds, great shower. Overall, it’s a lovely place to stay.

Clean and tidy, prefect for a couple and a small dog. Our 1st holiday travelling up on a train and the hill up to the cottage was hard work but the views were stunning! Only down side of Harlech is the facilities in the area but highly recommend the walks, Harlech castle and Barmouth. Harlech beach is around a 20 minute walk away which is a bonus. Would definitely stay again!

It had everything we needed for our week's stay. There were two of us, but it would have worked for three people too. The kitchen is small but well equipped: an induction hob that's really quick to respond, an oven that preheats quickly, and a microwave. Nice shower, lovely bedrooms, and controllable electric heaters in every room. Although the house doesn't have its own parking space, this wasn't a problem as it backs onto a car park where you can park free between 4.30pm and 10am. There's also another car park not two minutes' walk away which is free at all times. We would stay here again.

  • "We have just returned from spending a week in Min-y-Coed and I have to say I do not recognise a single aspect of the previous Oct21 review."

The property is exactly as described in the listing and exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. Firstly I would say it is the cleanest and best maintained rental property my wife and I can recall ever having stayed in. For our purposes (2 adults, a 15yr old and a dog) we found absolutely nothing lacking, in fact we would say our hosts have thought of every reasonable eventuality. Min-Coed is a cosy cottage but nothing in the listing suggests otherwise and the space has been brilliantly and thoughtfully designed. The quality of fit and finish is far superior to most rental properties. Myself and my son are both over 6ft and had no particular issues. Yes, the bed in the main bedroom had a wooden end at the base, but that is something I have got used to in rental properties over the years and had no problem with it. For me, whilst I appreciated Helen messaging me in advance re the bedroom blind, we had no issues with it, it functioned perfectly. As for the lay out in the kitchen, it has clearly been designed to achieve maximum functionality in a small space. Again, it contained everything we needed and we had no issues whatsoever. I would without hesitation recommend this property to any party of 3 wishing to visit Harlech and explore the region. Helen is a conscientious and responsible host, her communication is friendly and excellent, it clearly matters to her that her guests have a great time in her property.

  • "Patio furniture not present, view of various bins."

Uncomfortable living room furniture one chair placed in corner with no view of the fire. No cottage ambience, more a badly done Ikea transplant. Kitchen, cumbersome new wooden step ladder taking up space, needed to access the microwave (!). Sink set at an acute angle to the right making it difficult to wash up. 4 builders sized coffee mugs, heavy and ugly. 6 large beer glasses, glasses supplied for wine not easily reached. As there is a childs bed supplied why no appropriate glass for juice, or an adults short drink. Cupboard door opens over sink, a head injury waiting to happen. Dining table in cramped corner. Bed too short for 5ft 10in male. The day before we arrived the owner contacted us by lengthy text, advising of broken blind in bedroom, necessary to keep strong street light out. And one hour before arrival notification of broken lavatory seat. To the side of the front door a fence has been built restricting the neighbours view to the bins only. This could be why the woman who lives there doesn't say hello.

I would like to thank you for your review and am disappointed to read that you didn’t enjoy your stay in our cottage. The patio furniture is stored in the shed, full details of this are in the guest folder. The bed is a standard double - we are both taller than 5’10” and have no issues with it. Neither the blind nor the toilet seat were broken. There were small issues with both (a missing part on the blind, which just meant it needed careful use and a very slight wobble to the toilet seat) but both were fully functioning. I messaged you in advance only to make you aware and to provide reassurance that if there were any issues at all during your stay, we would arrange an immediate repair. As you messaged me twice during the weekend to say neither was an issue I presumed you were happy with both? The mugs may not be to everyone’s taste but there are cups and saucers too. There are two kinds of glasses for soft drinks, the smaller ones contain drinks of only about 200ml. Of course it would be possible to have a bigger array of crockery and glassware, but in smaller kitchens there is a balance to be struck between providing extra kitchenware and leaving cupboard space for our guests’ food etc. With the experience of staying in the cottage very often ourselves we think we have the balance of this about right. Overall, Min y Coed is a recently renovated, cosy cottage in a convenient town setting, not a large country property with sweeping views, and I think the pictures and description accurately reflect that. • "Small but well thought out, even though we were three adults we didn’t feel in each other’s way."

Perhaps the kitchen area is a bit small for making dinners, but breakfast and lunches were fine. And it pushed us to explore local eateries more, which I found was a refreshing change, there was quality food at the Castle Bistro, AS IF deli bistro, and the Castle dairy cheese/deli, last but not least the Castle ice cream/chocolate shop was heaven! The beds/furniture were comfortable and smart looking, good WiFi and cosy with the wood stove. We had a lovely time and would recommend it to anyone, also in a great location for the beach and exploring.
