  • "This is a really charming cottage, in a very quiet peaceful part of Shropshire."

The interior decoration is lovely and the wood carvings that are dotted around are really amazing - they are done by one of the owners. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and has everything you would wish for. The garden birds were great to watch and the owners even leave bird food to feed them. We loved watching them, and the garden was very pretty too. There are some good walks from the cottage but we stayed when it was very hot so we didn't do much walking! We did manage to walk to the Stables Inn which has very nice food - it is about 2 miles away. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a lovely peaceful break, and would love to return one day.

Very comfortable chairs and bed. When can we move in!? Easy to find. Good communication with owner the week before. Enjoyed the wildlife. So many birds who are used to getting spoilt with full feeders! Loved the hares in the field behind. Laid in bath watching the woodpecker! Just one slight thing the living room smelt slightly doggy for the first few days. There were also some dog hairs on the rugs and cushions.

The cottage had everything we needed (and more!). It is quietly remote, detached and surrounded by fields which makes it peaceful. The garden was a true blessing, thoroughly enjoyed by both our children and dogs (the garden is fully secure). We were able to see a range of birds, a great spotted woodpecker, deer and an owl. We enjoyed our stay so much we will be returning next year (and probably many more to come)!

  • "Owner was really lovely & helpful despite not being there."

Unfortunately the children’s home opposite the cottage got very noisy, making us feel like we were back home in our urban area rather than the rural area we had hoped to arrive at. There wasn’t much room to put our food, dog food etc… so we put our dog’s mixer which was in its own cardboard packet under the sink. The following day, the cardboard was shredded & some mixer had been eaten. We sellotaped the hole, put a rubber band around the cupboard under the sink to keep whatever was eating it at bay & transferred her mixer to the kitchen unit. The following day, it had again ripped the cardboard with it strewn everywhere so we moved plates from the cupboard & put it there. It was fine after that. Please put all food away in cupboards high up. If you have problems getting a t.v signal, it is likely the scart lead has come out. We had numerous problems with this but easily rectified. A lot of drivers that use the road next to the cottage drive far too fast. Be careful walking or driving along that single track road. It can get quite busy for a rural road. The cottage itself was beautiful, as is the area. Lots of beautiful birds & pheasants visit the garden & rabbits can be seen in the field at the back of the garden. I would like to thank the owner for all of his remote help during our stay. Martin, Carol & Lucy the lab - Halifax

Our dog loved the large enclosed garden. Shower is amazing, Plenty of towels left for you. Impressed by the basket with items left that had dettol spray, masks, anti bac wipes etc. Negatives are no wi fi, so when Sykes send a email re leaving the property you can't receive it. No freezer and no outside washing line, to hang out towels etc. During this time cupboards should be cleared of all food stuff items, found some well out of date. But would still recommend this lovely property.

Actually, our vodaphone mobiles could get a signal if we walked/drove to the top of the hill. There is a shepherd's hut in the large tree filled garden, complete with bed-settee and heater if your teenager fancies a night out in the great outdoors. The owner also has some wood carvings for sale and one of them now sits on one of our bookcases. There are some nice small towns within driving distance, with a bakery, interesting shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and produce markets. The pace is unhurried and everyone we met was friendly.
