  • "We had a really lovely comfortable and cosy stay in Spring Cottage, the photographs really don't do it justice."

Amazing grounds, very peaceful and firework free so Nigel the dog was very happy. We had everything we needed in the cottage and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a cosy and peaceful break. There are plenty of beaches about half an hour away, a local shop and pubs nearby.

  • "The cottage was clean and the sofa was very very comfortable."

We couldn't settle in the double bed but all mattresses are different and the single beds were fine, we slept like logs. It was so very peaceful and we had great weather apart from one day of heavy rain. The owners even had a heater in the wardrobe in the boot room if you were unlucky enough to get wet. Very impressed, a great idea, l want one!

We met the owners upon arrival and nothing was too much bother…. a bonus was the ‘welcome package’ of cookies, welsh cakes, milk & home made jam - as well as fresh farm eggs. I can thoroughly recommend Spring Cottage, which is in a convenient location for local sightseeing and walks.

Paul and Julie were very attentive and sorted out a couple of things for us very quickly. Lovely and quiet and lots of wildlife to enjoy. Highlight for us was to see a hedgehog. The Rooster likes to start early in the morning but we soon got used to him. Really enjoyed the two different outside tables as we could choose according to the sun where we sat out. Great area to explore with many interesting things to see and do. We have friends in Carmarthen so enjoyed visiting them and having them to our cottage too. Will definitely be back.

The property was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, they even had a drying cupboard for wet walking gear. The utility/ boot room had space for storing bikes and cleaning off the dog. Outside there is a large area to exercise the dog as well as a little secure garden Very friendly owners on site, nice welcome pack with milk, Welsh cakes and the best homemade blackcurrant jam ever ! One of the best cottages we have stayed in.

  • "My husband and I booked Spring Cottage for a little R&R with our 2 year old daughter."

We were looking for somewhere quiet and secluded to get away from the hustle and bustle and we were not disappointed. The property itself was easy to find following the instructions given. We were greeted by the owners upon arrival which we really appreciated. Inside the cottage you will find anything you could possibly need and more. There were so many small touches that really showed how much the owners care about their guests. From the fresh eggs, milk and jam, to the useful handbook containing local recommendations, appliance instructions and much more. As we stayed in early March, we made good use of the log burner in the lounge and we were pleased to find wood and kindling for a good price at the local garage as recommended in the property handbook. We were very appreciative of the sturdy stair gates both at the top and the bottom of the stairs as well as children's cutlery and tableware which we weren't expecting. We had requested a cot however, our daughter slept in the twin room as we butted the beds together and she slept better than she does at home! The master bed was incredibly comfy and my husband and I slept very well. The cottage was immaculately presented and we will definitely be returning in the future. We couldn't fault our stay whatsoever and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in the Welsh countryside.

Thank you very much for a wonderful review. Property Owner

We enjoyed having a choice of outdoor areas to sit, depending on the angle of the sun. It was a treat to have welsh cakes and home-made jam on our arrival and milk in the fridge to make a cup of tea after a long journey. We visited a few beaches & coastal walks within 30-40 minute drives and had a relaxing and refreshing week away. Unusual to have a generous amount of toilet rolls, dishwasher & laundry tablets and tea towels. THANK YOU

The equipment is everything you need. As reported by others, the shower is weak but gets you wet. The area is remote and beautifully quiet. Paul and his wife were very welcoming and provided home grown eggs, Welsh cakes, tea and milk. All in all we thought it was great.

  • "Paul and Julie welcomed us at the entrance to the property to give us a quick walk through where everything is located."

The information booklet provides all the necessary manuals to utilise appliances as well as providing what’s available within the cottage and attractions in the surrounding areas. These are listed with their SatNav addresses as well as approximate drive times to each destination. On the dining room table was a small starter kit of sugar, milk, Welsh cakes, tea and treats for the dog. The venue also provided cleaning materials, dishwasher and washing machine tablets, soap and disinfectant to use as needed.  A quirky layout which was more spacious than what we expected from the photos - though online these where true to view. You enter the property at the “laundry” room. This is also where the shower and toilet is located. Up the stairs takes you into the kitchen and dining area. Through a set of doors into the lounge with the stairs up to the bedrooms. These are baby gated so that no pets allowed upstairs. On the upper level is the double bedroom, twin bedroom and bathroom with bath. We had a lovely stay at Spring Cottage. Had it been available we would certainly have extended for another week to explore the area a bit more. Speaking of area..... majority of attractions and places close down in winter, only re-opening in April. As we were there during half-term, we did expect more places to be open than what was to be honest. So double check online if there are must see place you want to attend. Also, many places seem to have closed down since Covid-19 .... so be aware of that too. Carmarthen is about a 35 min drive from cottage. New Quay about 25 min. Tenby just over an hours drive. As per the listing - There is absolutely no WiFi at Spring Cottage... neither was there any mobile coverage (even though we did check with our providers which said there was). That being said - you can purchase an EE pay as you go package and that provided us with 4G signal, thanks to the tower being nearby. I would suggest getting this pre to arriving in the area.
