  • "We spent 7 days at the tractor shed and it could not have been any better."

It is a absolute credit to the owners and nothing was overlooked. We have many cottage holidays each year and the tractor shed is up as one of the best. It's location is great and very peaceful and relaxed. There is nothing that can be done to improve this little gem and there is no doubt that we will be returning. Some cottages we have rented for just 2 people when we have arrived have been so small but this certainly is not the case here. The cake and eggs and milk were lovely on arrival . Thank you for a great week away Lynne,Ena and Harry (the dog) x

We stayed as a couple with our Whippet & everything we could have wanted or needed was provided. The property was spotlessly clean, cosy & inviting plus it’s in a really pretty & rural location. The lounge was so relaxing of an evening after our days out walking & visiting beautiful Shropshire. We slept so well & just totally relaxed. We will definitely return - thank you so much for the cake, milk & eggs on arrival too. Book to stay here, you wont be disappointed.

We were very pleased with the milk, cake and eggs and enjoyed them immensely. We would say that a black out blind would be beneficial in the bedroom as the sun comes through really early. The window by the bathroom could also do with frosting as you have to remember to robe on exit. These are just observations however and did not hamper our stay.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback Gwyneth. I will look into the possibility of adding a blackout blind in the bedroom. The cottage was really well equipped, great secure parking and we arrived to home baked cake and free range eggs! Loved the coffee maker and the shower room was great, the kitchen supplied everything we needed the only things we would add are a drainer for the crockery and a larger stand alone bin. The mattress and pillows were too firm for us but that is a personal preference, the only 2 negatives were we feel it could benefit from a larger comfier sofa to relax on which was a shame as everything else was top quality and really well maintained. Our dog did struggle with the shiny wooden staircase as it was quite slippy on his furry paws maybe a central carpet stair runner would solve this issue. Overall an excellent place to stay, charming features, picturesque setting and lovely hosts. Highly recommended!

  • "The converted tractor shed was equipped with all the appliances and utensils you'd need for a week away."

We were able to easily cook meals and sit outside at the garden table, to enjoy the last of the Summer sunshine. We have two bits of feedback: 1. Waste bins - we didn't realise that the dustbin outside the property were only to be used for recycling. We were told on two separate occasions, on the same day, how the bins should be used. When I apologised for not using it correctly, I was told it was in the handbook. This did make me felt slightly uncomfortable. Who reads the handbooks cover to cover when they arrive? In future, I'd suggest two outside dustbins; one for recycling and one for general waste and to label them to prevent any confusion. 2. Dogs - we absolutely love dogs and the owners have two beautiful black labradors, who roam free in the grounds. The dogs barked and growled at us throughout the week and stood at our gate most the time. As soon as you open the front door they started barking. If you're not a dog lover or have a fear of dogs, this could be off-putting. Especially as there's no mention of it in the listing. I'm sure if you're only planning to be there at night and early in the morning it wouldn't be too much of a problem. That aside, the cottage itself is very nice and the location is brilliant. A 5 minute walk down the road to see the cows and 20 minute walk to The Cross Keys pub who do a brilliant roast pork! There's also a lovely restaurant called The Townhouse in Oswestry, which has a great beer garden and has beautiful decor inside.

The property

Oswestry 8 miles.

Tucked away within the owner's grounds, just behind a private driveway, is The Tractor Shed, a charming barn conversion for two.

It offers bundles of character, from the exposed ceiling beams and hay windows to the oak staircase and doors, for a cosy and inviting feel.

Step straight into the kitchen, which is wonderfully appointed with modern appliances, ready for you to rustle up those delicious meals to be had around the dining table.

Just off from here, you also have a handy utility room housing a washer/dryer, just in case you need to do any laundry while you are away.

Climb the stairs to the mezzanine living room and spend your relaxation time taking in the rural views through the large picture window, which allows plenty of natural light to flood the space.

Curl up with a good book or tune into the TV as you unwind into your evening with a replenishing drink.

The enclosed garden to the outside allows you to soak up a balmy afternoon on the gravelled patio, crack open a bottle of wine and chat late into the evening, making plans for the day ahead.

This is also a lovely spot for having your morning coffee during the warmer season, and later you can cook up a tasty breakfast with the free-range eggs provided on arrival.

Borrow one of the bikes available and cycle down quiet lanes and through open countryside, drinking in the scenery and feeling fully refreshed.

Find traditional pubs and local shops all around in the nearby hamlets and villages, or spend a day shopping in Oswestry or Shrewsbury, both beautiful towns with historic buildings and plenty of places to grab a bite to eat or a drink.

Explore the wider region and travel across to Wales for the Snowdonia National Park or North Wales coastline and beautiful lakes Vyrnwy and Bala.

Discover all the wonders of the area and then return to this rural abode to relax, at the end of each adventure-filled day.
