  • "The Lodge was well maintained and comfortable in the main (just found the bed too soft in the double room)."

Hot tub was excellent. Location was gorgeous and our friendly host Poppy was around at least once a day.

  • "The lodge was very clean and comfortable."

All equipment that we could have needed was there and the owners were friendly and approachable, without being intrusive. The lodge was very private and secluded but still within short distance to amenities and attractions. We would love to venture back!

  • "Such a lovely lodge tucked away in a secluded, peaceful area with an amazing hot tub!"

Kitchen is kitted out with everything you will need and parking is right outside. I stayed with my daughter for 5 nights and we had a great, relaxing time. I think the picture needs updating as there is another lodge being built next to it (but there is a large tall hedge separating them both) with a further 2 smaller lodges further down the garden. We felt like we were on our own even though the other lodges were occupied so this was not an issue at all. The only one niggle for us was the mattresses being uncomfortable but this is a personal preference - the sofas were super comfy! Definitely recommend this lodge :)

  • "I have never stayed at a property which was so uncomfortable before!"

The double bed was so bad we had to buy a mattress topper at the cost of £88. The settees were also uncomfortable. With a bit more thought and effort this could be a good place to stay as the surrounding area was very nice.

We are so sorry you thought that the bed and settee at Moorhen lodge was uncomfortable. If you had made us aware when you were here we could have tried to resolve this issue for you. Property Owner

  • "Followed your post code and it didn't take me to the lodge, after driving around for about an hour I asked a local and he actually took us to the lodge and once there i entered the coordinates in to my sat nav."

the position is N52 deg 46.55. W 002 deg 57.475. I don't know if this will help but once I inputted these coordinates it took me straight to the lodge from where ever i was returning from. Apart from that the lodge is in a lovely position overlooking nice grassed area with a lake and surrounding trees. and yes I would go back. The girls enjoyed the hot tub and it also has a nice gas barbeque .

Reasonably well equiped with good parking. Hot water system was excellent but shower controls are getting very stiff and need some attention. Hot tub available but not used on this visit.

Lovely place with the birds singing all day long. The accommodation is superb and vey comfortable. The owner, who lives close by, is very friendly and helpful. Very large lawn with woods and lakes at the back. Although it is quiet it is not far to places of interest for you to tour around and visit. I would go back again and recommend it to everybody.

They allowed us to have an early check-in, had a bottle of bubbly chilling for us and even let us check-out later than usual. The lodge itself was lovely and homely, and spotless! They really did an amazing job, especially considering it was a last minute booking. The lodge is located in a really beautiful setting and isn't overlooked by any other buildings. I can't recommend this place enough
