"The lodge was very clean and comfortable."
All equipment that we could have needed was there and the owners were friendly and approachable, without being intrusive. The lodge was very private and secluded but still within short distance to amenities and attractions. We would love to venture back!
"Such a lovely lodge tucked away in a secluded, peaceful area with an amazing hot tub!"
Kitchen is kitted out with everything you will need and parking is right outside. I stayed with my daughter for 5 nights and we had a great, relaxing time. I think the picture needs updating as there is another lodge being built next to it (but there is a large tall hedge separating them both) with a further 2 smaller lodges further down the garden. We felt like we were on our own even though the other lodges were occupied so this was not an issue at all. The only one niggle for us was the mattresses being uncomfortable but this is a personal preference - the sofas were super comfy! Definitely recommend this lodge :)
"I have never stayed at a property which was so uncomfortable before!"
The double bed was so bad we had to buy a mattress topper at the cost of £88. The settees were also uncomfortable. With a bit more thought and effort this could be a good place to stay as the surrounding area was very nice.
We are so sorry you thought that the bed and settee at Moorhen lodge was uncomfortable. If you had made us aware when you were here we could have tried to resolve this issue for you. Property Owner
"Followed your post code and it didn't take me to the lodge, after driving around for about an hour I asked a local and he actually took us to the lodge and once there i entered the coordinates in to my sat nav."
the position is N52 deg 46.55. W 002 deg 57.475. I don't know if this will help but once I inputted these coordinates it took me straight to the lodge from where ever i was returning from. Apart from that the lodge is in a lovely position overlooking nice grassed area with a lake and surrounding trees. and yes I would go back. The girls enjoyed the hot tub and it also has a nice gas barbeque .
"Apologies for the delay in responding."
We loved Moorhen Lodge, it had everything that we needed and more!
"A great property, in a lovely spot, though not easy to find."
Reasonably well equiped with good parking. Hot water system was excellent but shower controls are getting very stiff and need some attention. Hot tub available but not used on this visit.
"Fantastic time had, thoroughly recommend."
"Beautiful place, clean and comfortable with everything you could need for a relaxing stay."
Not too far from plenty of places to visit but far enough away from the noise of city life. The owners were friendly and happy to help, their dog was a huge hit with our children who adored her, she was super friendly. Would definitely return we had a lovely stay. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break, in a beautiful area.
"If you would like a nice quite, peaceful setting this is for you."
Lovely place with the birds singing all day long. The accommodation is superb and vey comfortable. The owner, who lives close by, is very friendly and helpful. Very large lawn with woods and lakes at the back. Although it is quiet it is not far to places of interest for you to tour around and visit. I would go back again and recommend it to everybody.
"Very nice place to rest."
If you are looking for quiet nature place this place perfect.
"This was a perfect cottage in a lovely location."
The owners could not have done more, we really appreciated the bubbly left for us and any queries were dealt with promptly and with no fuss. We would definitely recommend this to others and would visit again in a heartbeat.

"Great accomodation, lovely location."
Nice and out of the way and friendly host. Take away food from the Cross Keys was brilliant and there is a nice walk mostly across fields to the Three Pigeons in Nesscliffe. Great place to explore the area
"Had a lovely week at Moorhen Lodge."
Everything you could possibly need was provided and the lovely bottle of sparkling wine was an added bonus. The hot tub provided that extra relaxation for all of us after days out.
"The owners were really lovely and could not have done any more for us."
They allowed us to have an early check-in, had a bottle of bubbly chilling for us and even let us check-out later than usual. The lodge itself was lovely and homely, and spotless! They really did an amazing job, especially considering it was a last minute booking. The lodge is located in a really beautiful setting and isn't overlooked by any other buildings. I can't recommend this place enough
"Had a lovely holiday very restful just what we needed."
Lovely lodge, hot tub brilliant and the owners were lovely people I highly recommend
"A relaxing week with a number of walks easily accessed from the lodge."
Also easy to access local villages and towns. The location is so peaceful with lots of bird and wildlife spotting from the spacious porch. The view from the lodge is hard to beat. The undercover hot tub was used every evening and was very welcome. The lodge itself has every facility and the 2 en suites are very handy. Would definitely recommend.

"This property is marvellous."
The peace and quiet was rejuvenating. The hot tub was to die for. Can really recommend it if you are looking to get away from it all and have a peaceful break. Everything you could need was catered for with a lovely welcome pack of wine, biscuits, milk and tea coffee and sugar. And the beds were incredibly comfortable. Can’t wait to go back.
"We loved the tranquility of the lodge setting."

About the location
- Oswestry 6.9 miles
- Shrewsbury 12.5 miles
The small village of Kinnerley rests in the unspoilt Shropshire countryside, nestled between the villages of Dovaston and Pentre, with the nearest town being Oswestry. Many years ago, village was a stop on the now defunct Shropshire and Montgomery Railway, that ran from 1866 to 1960, whilst today it is mainly a residential village with a primary school, a church and a well-stocked shop that has fresh bread twice a week. Around the village are numerous walking and cycling routes which scale through the picturesque countryside. Seven miles away is the market town of Oswestry, boasting a range of restaurants, pubs and independent shops, whilst further afield lies the popular Shrewsbury and Telford.
