The hut is kitted out with everything you are likely to need during your stay, and it is ultra cosy . The location is pretty remote but with an array of footpaths and routes literally on the doorstep. A walkers dream, and some quite challenging routes. I couldn't fault anything about hut . And the location is perfect if you want get away from everything. Having said that Harlech, Barmouth and Llandanwg with their fabulous beach are just a few miles away. 10/10

A lot of care has been taken with the The decor and little touches, making it cosy and comfortable. The views are stunning and the walking was so beautiful. The location is quite remote and the walking was truly wild walking with quite a lot of bogs if you prefer an easy walk! The wood burning hottub was fun but you do need time and patience to use it. Worth it though! We caught the night sky at about 3pm and it was totally breathtaking! Worth staying for that alone! Eleri was very welcoming and helpful and shared alot of information about the history of the farm and the best walks. We are definitely hoping to return.

Some tweaks needed to make it live up to the price e.g. clear instructions about rubbish, provision of consumables.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. I should have pointed out the green bin by the gate - my fault entirely. Sorry you didn’t like the wine- it’s a tricky one to suit everyone’s taste. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the welcome pack on arrival. I see the weather didn’t put you off- thanks for booking again. See you soon - you’ll love the log fire and landscape in December! • "Me and my partner absolutely loved our stay, it is such an amazing hut with gorgeous views, we can't wait to come back again."

. we've already booked a week next year!! Eleri was their to welcome us on arrival and showed me how to set the hot tub up, I didn't quite manage to heat it up on the first night but every other night the tub was HOT, we were there for 4 nights and used the hot tub around 6/7 times (morning and evening because it was such an amazing view how could we not!) and we still had a couple logs left so plenty of wood for the fire/tub! Eleri really went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and perfect as she could, can't thank her enough for the help she gave us! There is so much to do and so many walks we only managed to scratch the surface and cannot wait to be back to discover more beautiful walks and some tasty food at the inn (definitely advise pre-booking a table at the Victoria Inn as it's very popular ;) ) The one thing I've got to mention is that there is so much more in the hut than I thought, I ended up packing a fry pan and kitchen bits and bobs as I wasn't sure what would be there when I arrived, but my oh my this hut had everything! From fry pans to potato peelers, absolutely everything I was very impressed, I now know my bags will be quite a bit lighter next time ;) There's loads of storage under the bed too for suitcases and clothes, a drying rack in the cupboard you can hang on the back of a door for drying your clothes after hiking! Oh and the heated towel rack in the bathroom was a god send for keeping those towels toasty and dry, works a treat on walking socks too ;) Cannot wait to come back and cannot recommend highly enough!!

  • "What an amazing little hut."

We stayed for 3 nights and had such a relaxing time. The hut itself is equipped to a really high standard, with everything you need for your stay. The hot tub was incredible. We had enough wood for a hot (and I mean HOT) soak every night we were there as well as lighting the fire in the hut one of the nights. It took about 2 hours to warm up on the first night but then every other night only took about an hour to get to temperature. Eleri was on hand to light the fire for us the first night and show us how to get the most bang for our buck. The hot tub is definitely not a gimmick and was the highlight of our stay. The location is stunning, with incredible views from the bed and hot tub, great walks up to the rhinnogs, amazing food at the Victoria in the village and easy access to the rest of Snowdonia. Eleri was a great help and we can't wait to come back and book both huts so we can bring our friends. Thank you for a glorious stay.

  • "We stayed here for a relaxing 4 day break (3 nights)."

The huts are fantastic and the area is just absolutely beautiful. To wake up to the picturesque mountainous views was so peaceful. The huts have everything you need, kitchen utensils and all and have been finished to a very high standard. Very cosy and comfortable! Our only fault was with the hot tub or should I say "cold tub". On arrival, Eleri was there to greet us and explained how to use the hot tub, advising us it would take around 2 hours in all to heat up. The first problem we incurred was keeping the fire going as the wood provided was damp if not wet after being left out in the rain. After giving up the first night, we began to use our own wood we'd luckily brought with us which was dry (and little did we know you have to pay for any extra wood whilst you're there). After 3 hours of tending to the fire, we checked the temperature to find it was FREEZING! Again, we gave up the attempt. On our last full day we decided to give it one last shot and kept the fire going for over 4 hours - once again, FREEZING! We were incredibly disappointed with this as we wanted a hot tub break and wasted at least 10+ hours of our stay tending to the fire. Upon our departure, we bumped into our lovely neighbours who were staying in the hut next door, who also told us they had no luck getting the hot tub going and had the same problems - coincidence? Other than the gimmick of the hot tub, we had a lovely stay and enjoyed the plenty of walks around the area.

Thank you for getting in contact and providing feedback following your stay at Moelfre. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at the hut and the beautiful walks and surroundings, but I am sorry to hear about the hot tub experience. I am aware on arrival we provide guests with a full explanation of how to work things in the property including the hot tub. We further provide instructions on how to make a fire in the property along with providing a full set of kindling, a generous supply of logs and fire starters in the welcome pack as provided. The hot tubs have been praised by visitors in the past for being an excellent addition to the huts. Had we known of your problems we would have responded to them immediately to help and change the supply in the log store if they were damp. I hope you weren't too disappointed by your experience and hope this will not put you off booking Moelfre - Shepherds Hut again. Yours Kindly, Gwyndaf and Eleri. Property Owner

The photos really don’t do justice to how beautiful the scenery is, and even in stormy, wet February we were still able to sit outside in the wood fired hot tub every night - amazing! The quality of the fixtures and fittings in the Shepherds Hut are exceptional, and the attention to detail in its layout and contents is really well thought out. The hut has everything you need to keep you toasty such as underfloor heating (great for breathing red wine!) and a wood burning stove to dry your walking gear.
