It was a really cosy weekend. The beds were comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed. The location was amazing, only a minute walk to the pub and nice walks in the country side. Thanks!

The facilities are good and we were comfortable. The lodge was clean and tidy and we liked the utility toom, a boon for families. One minor gripe, it would have been nice to be able to use the barbeque.

Thank you for your comments David, I wish you had asked us about the bbq we could have given you access. Unfortunately we had to restrict access to the bbq due to misuse. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your time at the lodge, thank you. Property Owner

Good quality beds, bedding and towels. I would suggest a set of better quality saucepans as the nonstick ones available were badly scratched and we didn't want to use them. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend such a nice house in a beautiful setting.

Hi Angela, Thank you for your feedback. I think you are possibly referring to the larger saucepans as the small ones were replaced recently. I will get the larger ones replaced ASAP. I'm so pleased that you had a good holiday. Property Owner

Main bedroom is too small for a double bed & on suite is cramped with mirror at chest height & no facilities for make up mirror & hair dryer mirror plug access. Folder needs updating as out of date & general lack of information I.e. firelighters found on last day! Curtains in the lounge but none over the double entrance doors. Overall not good value for money, however our Grandsons had a great time.

Property was advertised as pet free which we picked due to childs allergies, however the welcome book stated that owners pets were still allowed in the property, this set off my child's allergies, there was visible pet hair on the rugs and in the bedrooms, apart from that it was a nice break away

Thank you for your feedback, whilst the property is pet free it does say on the website that the owner stays there from time to time with their pets, also we can never guarantee that an assistance dog has been in the property. We have tried to make the note more clear on the website by adding a further red note at the bottom of the page. Property Owner

  • "Sunset Lodge 6 is in a great location near the coast."

The village is a short walk away and has a choice of pubs, and a small village shop which is surprisingly well stocked for its size. The lodge is in a very quiet and peaceful setting and feels very private even though you can see the other lodges. It has nearly everything you might need in the kitchen and laundry areas, but do take spare toilet roll, and kitchen scales if you are planning on baking. The lighting downstairs isn't great for reading/playing games but it does give a cosy atmosphere. However, there is an adjustable light by the dining table which helped a lot. There is also a selection of books and games to keep you (and any children) entertained. The bedrooms are a good size and the 2 upstairs have ensuite shower rooms with excellent showers. The owners are helpful and respond quickly to any queries and if we are visiting the area again, Sunset Lodge 6 will be our first choice.

Hi Gillian, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback it is much appreciated. I have added some kitchen scales now, my daughter also mentioned it when she was there, I'd never thought about it. Thanks again, Sharon. Property Owner

  • "Wonderful lodge, contained everything we needed during the holiday."

Good selection of DVDs, games, XBOX games which the kids appreciated when the weather turned. Great location, Harlech beach is simply stunning. The mountains are always in view whichever way you look. Ynys Gifftan island in Porthmadog estuary is well worth a trip, visit 3 hrs either side of low tide when you can walk their across the sands (better before low tide as you'll want to stay a while). There's a tiny but surprisingly well stocked shop in the village. So many options for walks through the montains, something for every one. We loved visiting the old ruined settlements around and above Cwmorthin lake, good (sheltered) on a windy day.

Thank you so much for your feedback. It's lovely to hear that you enjoyed your time at the lodge, and it's so kind of you to let other people know. Welcome back anytime, kind regards, Sharon. Property Owner

  • "The lodge stated that towels were provided, we were provided with 5 towels for 6 people so luckily we did bring towels with us."

No hand towels or kitchen towels were provided. Also we were a party with 2 children, there were no bath mats for when leaving the bath or shower and with the wooden floor this was particularly dangerous. The lodge had been cleaned but there was dirt under the sofas, including lego pieces which our 10 month old son found. Luckily no harm done. There was clothing labels down the side of chest of drawers in the front bedroom upstairs. Also, the inform folder could do with updating for future guests. Other things were that the gardener arrived at 9am to cut the grass, we was about to enjoy breakfast on the terrace, another lodge started building work at 8 or 8.15 most mornings (pre-warning would be nice) another morning the gas bottles were changed, information like this could be shared so that you are aware as we understand these things have to be done.

It’s a perfect location, great price and had all the amenities in it you could need. It’s a home away from home with great views and a quiet location. We will defo be staying in this lodge again next year! The beds were comfy, there were towels available, the heating worked great and it also had a log burner. Kitchen was full of everything you needed it even had a ‘bit’ draw with sellotape, pins, blue tac and spare batteries. It had two en suits and a main bathroom so no arguing over the shower situ. It even had a utility room to clean up boots and hang coats out the way. It also to the rear had a little garden seating area which we would have used if it was sunny. A great balcony to sit and watch the world go by. Barmouth beach was only a 20 min drive away and the local pubs were very friendly and welcoming too. Overall an amazing staycation. Defo recommend !
