  • "Great lodge and owner Emma has always been great, We have stayed here about 5 times and loved it was on its own with no one around."

Unfortunately this will no longer be the case, we booked for December 2021 but had to cancel as 2x new glamping pods are being put up right next to the lodge by the owner, and we felt they are way to close to the lodge for privacy and noise. I feel sorry for anyone already booked and un aware of this, It should be mentioned and a refund offered if your not happy. Great lodge still if you don't mind the pods next to it.

Hot tub was very enjoyable and had plenty of use despite the weather. If you’re after a short quiet break away from everybody this is a great place.

  • "This lodge was a big disappointment."

.On first entering we were met with two sticky fly papers ,full of dead flies. These fly papers were hanging from the ceiling. One near the door and one over the fridge. Several other flies were flying around the rooms including the bedrooms. On contacting the owner about this she seemed surprised that I was complaining and suggested keeping all the doors and windows closed. She also said she would come down to the lodge and replace the full fly papers with new ones! ( she didn’t so I removed them myself as the sight of these dead flies was off putting to say the least.) It was also very clear that there had been no “deep cleaning”...crumbs under the toaster, poorly washed cutlery and glasses, dirty windows and doors.Outside there were two filthy worn out door mats on the patio? The hot tub has obviously seen much better days and the lodge generally needs updating. There is a lack of privacy when in the hot tub..cars vans and people passing by in the lane leading to the fishing lake which was used sometimes at night with the fishermen using the portaloo ( about 12 feet from the bedroom windows and a possible source of the flies) and shining torches. There was no parasol for the outside picnic table and no loungers although they are shown in the photos of the lodge. Despite all of this we managed to have a lovely holiday in the area which is very beautiful..and we will be glad to return one day. But certainly not to this lodge.

Thank you for your feedback. As the property is within the countryside there will be expected flies during summer months. Unfortunately this is something that happens with many properties within similar locations. Due to COVID-19, we can assure you we thoroughly deep clean this property on each change-over. If there was any issues, we would have loved the opportunity to rectify them for you. I'm sorry if you are not happy with the nearby country lane but we have never had anyone mention this as an issue before. It is a shame to hear that Cherry Tree Loge was not right for you and thank you again for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was beautiful and set in lovely surroundings."

We were able to go in earlier than thought which was good. The main issues we would like to highlight are:- 1. We specifically booked the cottage as it had a hot tub. We enquired that the hot tub would be available and this was confirmed, however when we arrived it was cold. We made the owner aware of this straight away at aprrox 1pm and we were assured that it would heat up. It wasn't until 9.30pm that we actually used it and even then it was not at the max temp. We were in constant communication with the owner via text messages of our dissatisfaction and disappointment as we felt it was actually false advertising, however, we did not really get a satisfactory solution other than we could stay a bit longer ontge day of check out. It was my 50th birthday celebration to which we wanted something special but in fact it actually spoilt it due to the issue with the hot tub. I feel this should be looked at as although I understood the need for it to be cleaned, etc, in actual fact it meant we did not have much time to spend in it. We also felt the lack of a person to welcome us and be able to try to support us in this matter was very impersonal.

Thank you for your feedback. The owner was disappointed with your comments as she did allow you into the property 3 hours early and and allow you to check out 3 hours later. The hot tub is emptied, cleaned and refilled after every guest leaves to ensure that cleanliness levels are maintain to avoid any cross contamination. Unfortunately, it was minus 3 degrees the night prior to your arrival and this also impacted the hot tub getting up to the optimum temperature. The owner does not live near to property and this is why key safes are there so guest can let themselves in in their own time, feedback from the majority of our guests prefer this approach when entering properties as they do not feel rushed to get to a place at a certain time for check in. We are sorry that you didn't find this facility to your liking. Over all we hope that your comments didn't detract from your stay at Cherry Tree Lodge. Property Owner

There was no one around apart from horses in the nearby field. Theres not much to do locally if your taking little ones but the hot tub made up for it. It was home from home. Really clean and comfortable

  • "The location was absolutely brilliant!"

My daughter loved the fact that there were horses opposite the accommodation. Also, the hot tub is an absolutely fantastic idea! Definitely would recommend this lodge to anyone. The one issue we had was privacy but there is a fence that is in the process of being built to separate the lodge from passes by - wasn't too much of an issue though, we had a great time! Thank you :)

  • "Right next to the lodge was a fishing lake that unfortunately was being drained to be made bigger."

From 8am every day til late that we have been here so far, a generator has been running to empty the lake with 2 diggers and a tractor and trailer running which has disturbed the ‘ quietness ‘. As we are on holiday we are staying up late and want a lie in in the morning and require the peace and quiet during the day to relax and none of this was possible. I feel that this should have been noted on the site then we could have made an informed decision about the booking. The hot tub is not private enough as there is a small dirt track road that runs along the front to other cabins and he fishing lake. Other guests have suggested that it needs to be made private back in October and the owners have said that they are going to do this, but 3 months later it is still is still not complete. The fridge has a small freezer compartment, but it has that much ice in it that you cannot shut the door of the freezer, therefore cannot use it as a freezer.

Thank you for your feed back. We're sorry that your holiday was disrupted by the noise due to the lake being drained. We were not made aware of this at any point as we would have made it a priority to notify any guests affected. This work is short term and will finish on 21st January. The road that runs along links up to other properties. We do have plans to make the hot tub more private. Thank you for advising us of the freezer, we will make sure this is fixed. Property Owner
