We had our grand children with us this time and they loved the cottage and village lovely walks.

  • "Bramble cottage is in a lovely location very quiet village."

Would have been good if the essentials like milk and sugar were left since no shops closer than Towyn, four tea bags doesnt really do it. Furnishings were comfortable. Co op and Spar in Towyn well stocked, several cafes. Railway is interesting and although we didnt go on it we went up to Dolcoch falls and Abergonalwyn, beautiful scenery. We didnt use the dog guard since our dog doesnt move far from us but it would restrict the dog to the patio area from what we could see. Plenty of wild life to see.

  • "It's been a couple of years since we were able to stay at Bramble Cottage and we were very much looking forward to returning this year."

We weren't disappointed as it was a great as we remembered from before. It's interesting to see how the cottage has evolved over time: Terry and Jayne really listen to people's feedback and little tweaks here and there have served to add to what was already a great experience (the addition of a fold-out fence to enable your dogs to be out and about on the paved area is simply genius, for instance.) Jayne popped by to see if everything was fine, which was lovely of her. Hopefully it won't be such a long time until we visit again.

Thanks, look forward to seeing you soon Property Owner

  • "The location was great: peaceful village, beautiful beaches, wild moorland and mountains and friendly neighbours."

Would we return to the area? Yes Would we return to Bramble Cottage? No Bramble Cottage is soul-less, furnishings we’re dated and it took 3 days to air the property from arrival. In contrast the kitchen was modern and well equipped. This accommodation is listed for 4 people but because of the open toilet and shower rooms one couple would need to know the other couple very well! One of the double beds is in the living room which is as bizarre as it looks. The information left by the owners about the cottage was unfriendly as was our interaction with them. There was an outside area which was nice with a patio but the lawn had dead areas presumably from previous dogs wee so we didn’t use the lawn at all. Our message from Sykes at the end of our stay was a long list of instructions when leaving the cottage which was curt and patronising. In our opinion, this cottage is over priced, only suitable for 2 people. We have moved on to beautiful accommodation in North Wales at £120 cheaper with Airbnb.

  • "Lovely cottage."

Easy to find. Cleanliness exceeded expectations. All catered for. Modern showers, tv, cooker etc. Warm, comfortable, well placed. Only tiny issue is although the little patio can be made safe, the garden itself is not completely secure roadside. Lots of lovely walks nearby however and plenty of wildlife to watch. We and the dogs had a lovely time and will definitely return.

  • "This was our third stay at Bramble Cottage, and our second this year, which indicates how much we love it there."

It's clear that Terry and Jayne who own the cottage take a great deal of pride in it and are eager to make every visitor's stay as comfortable and cosy as possible. They have provided a guide to all the facilities that the cottage has to offer and have clearly taken on board points that some holiday makers have made in the visitors' book. Also they have explained that there are some things that the locality prevents them from doing. As usual we used the cottage as base from which to visit our favourite places (could three visits to the Ice Cream shop in Tywyn over the course of one week be considered too many?) The weather was... changeable, particularly when compared to our previous visit in May. At times the rain pelted down, but this did nothing more than prove how cosy Bramble Cottage is - warm, dry and homely. Llanegryn itself is a very pretty village, very quiet and the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday. Bramble Cottage is situated on what might called Llanegryn's main road, but with very little through traffic you are barely aware of it. You hear more sounds from the local sheep than any vehicles, though we did like the farm vehicle that came by with some very excited dogs barking inside it! Even that passed by so swiftly that our two dogs barely registered it. So, to sum up, we would thoroughly recommend Bramble Cottage and its charming owners to every holiday maker and give it 100% on all levels.

  • "We really enjoyed staying at the cottage which had everything we needed for a self catering holiday."

The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. The only thing which had us a little frustrated was that the address was given as 5 Y Rhos which it is not and furthermore, 5 Y Rhos is a private residential address a little further up the road. On arriving it was obvious that 5 Y Rhos was not Bramble cottage, but it took us a little time to find the cottage having to remember what it looked like on the web page!

Thank you for your feedback. We provide all the correct information for the property. If you only use the postcode of the address then this does take you down a separate road. We have updated the directions to make this clearer for future guests. I am sorry for the inconvenience this caused you on this occasion. Property Owner

  • "This was our second visit to Bramble Cottage and we were as thrilled with it this year as we were last - the kitchen is one to envy!"

Everything was spotless when we arrived and there was a welcome card and bottle of wine from the owners. The beds are comfortable, the ensuites convenient and as previously mentioned the kitchen is great. The presence of a washing machine is a godsend and the outside drying area a real sun trap. Ample parking right outside makes coming and going very easy. This year the internet was vastly improved, although that wasn't the most important thing about the cottage. Positioned as it is just outside the centre of the village of Llanegryn, nestled at the bottom of a valley and surrounded by fields of sheep there were times when you could not hear any human-created sounds at all. The road beside the cottage sees the occasional vehicle passing by, including the regular bus service, but you barely register them going by. As a base from which to explore the area the cottage cannot be faulted - we even had a day when we didn't go out at all and just relaxed. It's like a very comfortable, well-equipped home from home and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a dog-friendly, person-friendly and lovely place to stay. And we are discussing staying again for a third time in 2020...

It had pretty much everything we needed, Clean and well maintained. The wood burner keep the place warm & cozy. And although we didn't watch any movies, there was a wide variety of DVD’s to choose from if we wanted too. Perfectly located to explore the mountains of Snowdonia, or spend time at any one of the local beaches. We will definitely be booking there again in the future. Thank you ….

It was chosen as it was dog friendly. The only improvement would be to have a fence between the garden and the road but regardless this wasn't a signifcant problem.

  • "We arrived on first day."

The cottage had not been cleaned and the bedding had not been changed. The dust that accumulated was more than a week or so's worth of dust. We contacted the owner and he informed us there was clean bedding under one of the beds. He came round the next day to see what condition the cottage was in. We came to an arrangement over the cleanliness of the property. It doesn't detract from the fact that we spent our first day cleaning up mess that should have been done before we arrived. Another problem we had was that the shower in the ensuite area would only give cold water. The owner was aware of this but not able to repair until September. The internet was very intermittent, giving up completely just before we left. It is a really nice cottage in a lovely area. It has everything you need in it for a short stay. It would benefit from the garden being fenced off to make it dog proof if your pets like to wander. We would recommend this cottage if the cleanliness issue is addressed which I'm sure the owner will be looking into.

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry the holiday was not all that you hoped for. We can reassure you this will not happen again. Property Owner

  • "Bramble Cottage is a superb conversion of a much older building into a smart, excellently equipped holiday cottage."

Llanegryn, the picturesque village in which the cottage is situated, sits at the bottom of a valley and is approximately a 10 minute drive from the seaside town of Tywyn and its vast beaches. It should be noted that although the cottage stands along side the main road through Llanegryn it’s actually more like a wide lane and the traffic through is intermittent and will not disturb. The valley does mean that there is virtually no mobile phone signal, but who cares when you’re getting away from it all. And there is wi-fi! The bed linen and towels are provided (though tenants must bring their own beach towels) and both rooms have ensuite wet rooms with toilets. The bright kitchen is ultra-modern with an induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. A static rotary-style washing line folds out from the wall in a little sun-trap area just outside the back door, which opens from the double bedroom at the rear. In the main room of the cottage, into which the front door operns, has a king-size double bed and a lounge/dining area. There is a large TV set, an extensive library of DVDs should you want entertainment of an evening and a drawer with stuff for children to occupy themselves. The focal point is a large woodburner should the weather turn cool, which can be fed from the well-stocked and smart wood store just outside. Also outside there is a bench and a garden table and chairs standing on the patio area, and a very smart lawn with flowerbeds as borders. Opposite the front of the cottage and across the road, sheep-filled fields stretch up the hillside of the valley, while behind the cottage there is a meadow, bisected by the stream which runs through the village (and some gardens) which is a grazing area for a small amount of sheep who stroll in and out throughout the day. It was so quiet at times that it was possible to hear the sheep pulling the grass up to eat it. Lastly there is a sizeable parking area for a couple of cars, with easy access to the cottage. We were initially attracted to Bramble Cottage because we could take our two dogs with us and the rental price was very good, but on arrival it was obvious that it was going to exceed all our expectations. We are definitely planning to return for another week next year.
