    “Everything in perfect order.”

Small but nice holiday house. Landlords are polite, friendly and helpful. All in all, just perfect.

The property

A former chapel, lovingly converted into a comfortable cottage sitting under the castle motte, in the popular market town of Builth Wells.

This is a perfect base for families or friends looking to make the most the fabulous countryside on the doorstep.

Set over two floors, there are three cosy bedrooms and a family bathroom.

On the split-level ground floor, there is a well-equipped galley kitchen looking out onto the garden.

A few steps down takes you to the spacious dining area that then leads into the cosy sitting room with an enticing woodburner, perfect for cosy nights in front of the TV.

Outside, you can sit in the pretty cottage garden and relax as the sun goes down whilst enjoying an alfresco evening meal.

Dan-y-Castell is just a stone’s throw from local shops, pubs and restaurants and across the river from the internationally renowned Royal Welsh Showground with its annual events.

With the town sitting on the beautiful meandering River Wye, pleasant days can be spent by the riverside.

The area offers numerous outdoor activities such as wildlife and birdwatching opportunities with fabulous walking and cycling trails to follow.

Why not watch the aerial acrobatics of the red kites being fed or enjoy a mountain pony trek.

Riverside activities, including kayaking or canoeing are available, or perhaps while away a few hours enjoying one of the local golf courses, one being in Builth Wells itself.

You are ideally placed to explore the former spa town of Llandrindod Wells, a perfect centre for cycling, as well as boasting one of a handful of golf courses in the area.

You are a 30 minute drive from the edge of the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park, opening up a myriad of days out, or why not head towards the literary ‘Town of Books’ at Hay-on-Wye?

Drive a similar distance north into the beautiful Cambrian Mountains and visit the majestic Victorian Dams and peaceful reservoirs of the Elan Valley enabling you to marvel at the fabulous wildlife.
