Ideally based which gave access to lots of places to visit. Gavin & Sarah were friendly and welcoming and even left a little hamper of goodies to start us off. Wonderful birdwatching from the sitting room. Points to note... the stairs to the the first floor were very steep and if someone turned the water on downstairs the water turned off upstairs! However we all managed to stay clean for the week!

It was homely and spotlessly clean. Beds very comfortable and kitchen well equipped. As I am wheelchair bound the accessibility was imperative. It was easy for my son to wheel me over the threshold both at the front and the back into lovely big garden. Loved watching the birds on the feeder including a beautiful wood pecker! Thank you Sarah for patience when we were very late arriving and Gavin for coming out to direct us to property. Enjoyed chatting to Gavin. Loved the way he was very apologetic about weather! How else would the area be so beautifully green? Loved the wood burner with free wood etc. for lighting. We always love a wood burner! It was perfect really in every respect and felt we would have been able to approach owners had there been any problem. We will book again - hopefully soon. Thank you again to Sarah and Gavin for warm welcome to North Wales which is so beautiful. My advice is not to miss Portmeirion as it is only half an hour away. It is positively astounding.

Communication with Sarah was excellent. On arrival we were immediately made to feel welcome by the whole family (including the dog). The Annexe far exceeded expectations. Spacious, clean, well equipped, comfortable accommodation in a beautiful setting. The main bedroom is on the ground floor and has a spacious en suite with a good sized shower. This room looks out onto the lawn leading down to the river.. a view i could never tire of. Upstairs there are 2 more bedrooms and a bathroom.. all clean and comfortable. The sitting room is stunning , a large room with a woodburner and a good supply of logs and bi-folding doors out onto the lawn and the views i mentioned earlier. The kitchen has everything you need and more.. even a wine cooler. There was a very generous hamper with Welsh cakes, bread, milk, chocolates, tea, coffee, wine and more.. this was a lovely touch. There is no mobile signal but there is a decent WiFi provided. There are laundry facilities too - they even provided the capsules for the washing machine. Our hosts were welcoming and accommodating whilst respecting our privacy and social distancing . Their 2 boys were extremely polite and sociable. We would highly recommend the Annexe. If you need level access accomodation this is perfect. There are wheelchair/scooter accessible walks within a mile from the accomodation too. We are already planning our next visit..

  • "The cottage was perfect in every way."

Rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished, everything was spotlessly clean. Although the inside of the cottage is quite rustic in appearance the kitchen and shower/bathroom were modern. We only cooked once but found everything in good and clean order. Before our arrival the owners put a welcome-hamper on the table with wine, chocolates, bread and Welsh cakes. They could not have been more welcoming or friendly. I am sure we will return. The general location of the cottage, whilst remote, offers easy access to main towns nearby as well as many attractions that are worth visiting. Our main reason for choosing this cottage was the remoteness and the dark skies we needed for some star-gazing. Sadly, the weather was not too good and we only had one cloudless night sky. During this night, however, we put up the telescope and can truly say that we have never seen the Milky Way as superbly before.

It was very comfortable, with everything we needed, lovely fresh bed linens and towels on comfy beds. Showers were excellent with good water pressure and no hardness to the water. I liked the fact the drinking water tap was fully filtered. The extra drinks chiller in the kitchen was a real boon for cans and bottled drinks. The lounge and bedrooms are roomy and very comfy. Sofas were great and our only regret was it was too warm to use the log burner. Internet was absolutely fine, but be prepared for no mobile phone service much of the time. It is in a mountain backed valley after all!! The gardens were beautiful and the surroundings like something from an exotic film. A sumptuous cottage, in a sublime location. The location is stunning with breathtaking surroundings and the river at the bottom of the garden gives a wonderful background noise. We were met by Gavin one of the owners on arrival who showed us what we needed for a comfortable stay. There was a courtesy hamper with a few essentials and local produce (thank you) which we enjoyed working our way through. The Annex is well set out with a cosy feel, it had all you could need in the kitchen if you decide to eat in, there were books, dvd's, the Sky TV with Sports was a bonus and children's board games which we made use from. The Wifi worked when it wanted but this was a blessing in disguise as it enabled us to get a way from everything. Gavin and Sarah were perfect host and were around if needed, their boys ( 9 & 7) provided daily entertainment fo my 3 children (9,5 &5) whether it was taking them picking apples in the orchard, fishing by the river, organising football practice / matches or bike races. They were a lovely family and all ensued our stay was the perfect one. The surrounding area of the accommodation was made up of stunning mountain views with the river a constant divide. We had some wonderful walks and would bring the bikes to try the mountain bike trails when we return. Just 15 mins to Barmouth this holiday has all you need just a short trip to the seaside and shorter journey to tranquility off the waterfalls. On the last evening we were treated to a clear sky and the star gaining was unbelievable, I must remember the telescope for the next visit. Wheather you want to enjoy th mountain range and go walking/biking or want to build sand castles on the beach this is the perfect location and the perfect accommodation. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

The sitting room, once an old barn has been beautifully incorporated into the cottage and now provides a wonderful living space with a warming wood burning stove and comfy sofas.

The light and airy feel is enhanced by the high pitched ceiling and bi-fold doors which open up the whole length of the room so you can take in the garden, hillside scenery and enjoy the country air on balmy summer evenings.

There are three bedrooms, the main bedroom is on the ground floor and benefits from an en-suite shower room, and upstairs there is a twin, a single and family bathroom.

To the front of the cottage is a patio with picnic table so you can look out across the garden towards the hillside whilst enjoying alfresco dining or enjoy a morning coffee whilst relaxing in the rear courtyard.

This lovely cottage stands amidst some beautiful countryside in the Coed-y-Brenin Forest Park, which is renowned for its mountain bike routes, magnificent walking trails, spectacular waterfalls, nature reserves and other exciting outdoor pursuits.

There is secure bike storage and an outside washing area, making this a perfect base for biking enthusiasts. Dolgellau is 5 miles away, offering shops, pubs and restaurants for light snacks.

Alternatively, why not spend a few days relaxing on the sandy beaches at Aberdovey, Barmouth or Fairbourne?
