  • "First impression when walking into the bungalow was it is warm and welcoming, by far the best residence my daughter and I have stayed in on our many trips to Wales and Somerset, a real home from home."

The garden was perfect for the dog which is our main concern when booking. The beds are extremely comfortable, we both woke up feeling really well rested unlike some places we have stayed in. Helen is such a lovely helpful person, we didn't meet Ryan as he was busy lambing. There is so much to see within an hour and the roads are far superior to England's, we will be returning soon.

  • "Quiet cottage on farm on it's own down a long track with the main farm house about 100m further on and far reaching views."

We had the log fire on every evening for that perfect cottage getaway. Nice walk through 'Long Wood' to Lampeter of 4 miles or 15 minute drive. Lampeter has Co-op, Sainsburys, great garage, cafes, pubs etc. For those who enjoy a great walk if you can get dropped off at LLyn Brianne it is a 17 mile walk back to the house through some of the most stunning scenery that is more than a match for Snowdonia, just not so high. Helen was very friendly and was often around the farm feeding her horses but maintained your privacy if you so wished. Great escape from everything.

  • "We had an amazing week at Bryn yr Haf and really didn't want to leave."

Great weather for October too! Beautiful surroundings, I stood outside every morning with my coffee watching the sun rise over the hills. The horses came to say good morning they are very friendly. Lots of birds outside the front, Red Kites flying over the fields. Was so peaceful and relaxing. Clean and tidy throughout. Helen was lovely and helpful. Perfect break away from work and school and busy London.

  • "Our family of 5 enjoyed a week's stay at the bungalow."

The property was clean and in good condition. We appreciated the tranquillity of the location, and the helpfulness of the owner. The wifi worked well, which was appreciated. It may be helpful for future guests to know that we were able to receive a grocery delivery at the property from Tesco with no problem and with the prior agreement of the owner. Also, the local shop / post office closed at the end of August 2023. However, we were able to get by with topping up any extra supplies from the Sainsbury's store in Lampeter, where there's also a Co-Op store. Regarding finding the property, I'd advise drivers to follow the owner's travel directions as you approach the area, rather than relying on a different route suggested by a satnav.

  • "We were very comfortable at this property and thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

The house is set on a large (to us!) farm and the owner was kind enough to allow us to wander as we pleased. The house is set in a very nice and private location with pleasant, mature garden areas to front and rear. There was so much for us to explore right on our doorstep that we didn't find the need to go out much! The owner was very helpful and kind and we enjoyed learning from her about the farm's history and the flora and fauna to be found there.

  • "This place is a little gem if you wish to get away from it all."

It is on a sheep farm in the middle of nowhere so if you are looking for a place close to amenities this may not be the place for you as you do need to travel to places. The cottage itself is so well equipped and Helen goes out of her way to make sure on arrival you have everything you need. So far as to providing milk tea coffee and biscuits on arrival. Even washing up liquid cloths and brush. Hairdryer an iron. There is a little shop which we enjoyed walking to with the dog - round trip takes about 30 - 40 minutes depending how fast you walk and provides essentials ( no newspapers though). Lampeter is good for the Co-op you can get everything you need here.(Takes about 15 minutes to drive there). O My Cod is a really good chip shop and the Nags Head pub is dog friendly. Small menu choice but excellent quality, reasonable priced and there is something on there to suit everyone. A walk after tea to the river is nice to do (wellies adived) good views of the Red Kites flying overhead. And there are a couple of nature reserves nearby, one within walking distance from the cottage. Cors Caron National Nature Reserve near Tregaron is dog friendly. It is a place I would definitely visit again.

Shower hit and miss with water pressure, we had no water at all for two days due to a burst water main but Helen did everything she could to help, keeping us informed and bringing us bottled water. We felt really at home and it was perfect for our short walking break with our 2 dogs. There were several great walks right from the door so it is perfect if you just want to walk and relax. Lampeter is only 4.5 miles away and has great pubs and takeaways . There is also a Sainsburys for supplies. We walked there through a forest walk , had a lovely lunch and walked back. The family are really welcoming and at hand if you needed anything but respected our privacy. The coast is about 35-40 mins drive so accessible for days out. The cottage had all the things we needed and the kitchen was well equipped. The garden was particularly beautiful and had a brilliant outside space to eat as the weather was good. The bathroom has a walk in shower area (wet room) it could do with a grab rail or sit on stool for people who have mobility restrictions.

Very accommodating and friendly owners Helen and David, and a lovely garden surrounding the property all fenced off (great if you have a pet with you) with easy parking in front of the cottage off the farm track. Large kitchen, well equipped. The bathroom is good as it has a walk in shower as well as a bath option, ideal for various peoples' needs. Comfortable lounge plus sunny conservatory. Cannot fault it in any way. We will definitely recommend it to others for a relaxing get-away but easy to get to various parts of the coastline which are also worth a visit if you haven't been in this area before. Do pay a visit to Cardigan, and take the Gwbert road off the main street which runs alongside the Teify river right to the end of that road where you will see the entrance to the Cliff Hotel in front of you - it's on the headland - magic.
