  • "Fantastic property!"

Bit enclosed at the front as thought it looked far end of cul de sac but very small so very enclosed ok if you like that kind of thing. Back garden had next doors garden running behind it. Ok if they are not out in it otherwise intrusive if out in the garden having a chill, eating, drinking relaxing in the garden. Not really private! However inside is lovely. Beautiful view from the uncomfortable settee! Was back aching & small if you had a family of 4+ not much room to sit, quite small 2seaters. TV limited channels, we found anyway sorry. Cosy and comfortable property. Lovely decor. Great base for heading to Harlech beach which is beautiful. Black Rock sands for driving your car on the sands & eating fish and chips which were delicious from chippy Dee at Tremadog 5* . Barmouth not far and a few other outings around the area. Cartref is a comfortable property and fantastic base for exploring. Owner has made it very welcoming on arrival.

  • "We had a great stay despite the storms trying to ruin our holiday!"

The cottage was wonderful, lovely location, well equipped, spotlessly clean, nice enclosed garden for the dog and really comfy beds. It was larger than we were expecting and the 3 bedrooms is a real bonus, keeping the kids separate for a quick and painless bedtime routine! Being able to access Netflix and iplayer was also a massive hit given the weather! We did manage to venture out and the location was perfect for our coastal walk, trip to Harlech castle and beach (a must for dog owners) and visit to Bounce Below at the Llechwedd Slate mines. Would highly recommend.

Very well setup for a holiday house, flexible accommodation and nice and clean on arrival. Just a few minutes walk to the estuary which is stunning. Well located for many other attractions, beaches, castles, mountains, etc. Property has a 'homely' feel in that it has pretty much everything you need and the layout worked well for us (family of 4 plus small dog). Thank you!

  • "The house was spotless on arrival."

The beds were excellent. Very well equipped kitchen. Nice seating area. Proper dining table. Great location on a beautiful estuary. Lovely walks close by. Although there is no parking next to the house the parking area only a few yards away. I wouldn't describe this house as a country cottage as it is part of a small ex local authority estate with local residents but the area felt very safe.

The house was immaculately clean, with all cleaning and sanitizers, left for your use. The kitchen has all the utensils you would need, beds are comfy and the views from the house and garden are breathtaking. It is in a perfect location to explore Snowdonia National Park and all the surrounding area. We will definitely visit again when we can explore more areas not in local lockdown. Thank you to the owners of Cartref, you really have an amazing property. The Vincent Family and Harley

  • "We'd had this cottage on our radar for a couple of years, but it's availability ne really chimed with ours."

We eventually had annual leave when the house was also available and it completely lived up to expectations. Comfortable and spacious, with great views of the mountains from the living room window, this is a fabulous property in a very quiet location. Well-equipped in every way (with the exception of a pizza wheel...first-world problems, I know), the house feels like home immediately. There is a porch/utility room at the side of the house, which houses the standalone freezer and the washing machine. We've stayed in many properties in a North Wales and this must be a contender for our number one spot. I can't recommend this cottage highly enough.

  • "We loved our stay in Cartref!"

The house was really nice and in a lovely quiet location. Gwenan, the owner, was really helpful on the phone about having a travel cot, high chair and even a stair gate for our little boy. We arrived to a lovely, clean, warm house. Gwenan has left us a little carton of milk and a delicious lemon cake and welsh cakes! What a lovely surprise. The house had everything you needed for a self catering stay, including a well equipped kitchen. The house has lovely views of the fields and mountains in the background. The location is great for getting to nearby Porthmadog, Harlech and even further. We were really surprised at how good the roads were to get to places. All in all we were very pleased and would love to go back again!

the house is well equipped with all mod cons. The walks from the house especially down to the estuary are magnificent and apart from the geese you cannot hear a thing, bliss you want a nice relaxing break this sis the place to come.
