It was warm and cosy even though it rained everyday thanks to Storm Ciaran. The location was fantastic and we put some bird seed out and within minutes there was an abundance of birds. Snowy was very helpful about the local area with advice about where to visit. He was also very friendly and enjoyable to chat with if you needed anything. We will definitely be going back to this lovely cottage and to see Snowy.

  • "We spent a lovely week in this cosy cottage."

It is an amazing place to refresh away from the world, settled in a peaceful rural location next to a mountain. You can choose to enjoy the views of the sheep, horses and swooping birds from the window / patio or walk right up there from the doorstep. The owner is a wonderful gentleman. He has the perfect ability to be available to share his incredible knowledge of the area or provide practical help, but never intruded on our peace and quiet. Although the properties are next door, they have been cleverly designed for perfect seclusion. The property is well equipped with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen as well as the all important wifi for our teenagers. It was just immensely practical and well thought out probably due to years of experience - from the hooks outside the door under the canopy to leave our wet coats, a hose outside to clean the dog and being able to reverse the car right up to the door to unload when it was raining! Cannot recommend enough. There are many places to visit within 30 - 45 minutes, great walks in Brecha Forest, sandy beaches, coastal towns and 5 National Trust properties. Loads of info and maps are provided in the dresser in the lounge to help you make your travel plans. Helpful notes: Bed linen provided - fitted sheet. Dogs are to remain downstairs. TV takes HDMI cable. Bring binoculars to watch the birds. There is a workshop directly in front of the property, but this doesn't detract from the main mountain view which is to the side, in fact it actually provides a nice courtyard feel to the patio with its table and chairs which aren't shown in the photographs. I imagine this would be a lovely suntrap - unfortunately we had lots of rain!

  • "We loved our time at this lovely, quaint and cosy little cottage."

The spot is breathtaking. So picturesque, quiet and secluded, although bike trails, forests and shops are available just a short drive away as well as the Newquay beach just 40ish minutes away. There are lovely walks on the doorstep, farm animals and beautiful pastures to marvel at in the distance, as well as blackberries bushes, which were lovely to pick as a family in the sunshine. The property iself is situated on the owners privately owned farm. It really did quickly start to feel like a home from home. We were made to feel extremely welcome by the lovely owner, who lives close to the property, although you are not overlooked at all, and we were given complete privacy during our stay, but we were made to feel that we could ask for assistance from the owner at any time. If your looking for time away from the outside world and a little step back in time to appreciate the More important things in life, this cottage is a little gem. We didn't want to leave and we look forward to the day that we can return. Thank you to the owner for opening and welcoming us to your lovely little home.

Copious information was provided about local sites and attractions. The owner, Mr Wilson, was charming, friendly without being intrusive, and eager to make us feel at home. My only slight caveat was that Wi-Fi was a little erratic (mainly an issue for two teenage sons) but when the connection went down Mr Wilson promptly assisted us to restore it. He was an excellent host, and it is easy to appreciate from comments in the Visitors Book why many of his guests keep returning.

The patio area was a total sun trap and was a perfect spot to enjoy the evening sun after a day of exploring. The area is stunning and plenty of exploring to do. We had our two dogs with us who had a super holiday too, one word of advice if you have an older dog or one with mobility issues would be to take a mat with you as the kitchen floor proved quite slippery for my older dog. We always carry a mat in our vehicle just in case so was not an issue for us. We are so glad to have found this cottage and will definitely return.
