The property

Boasting views of the majestic River Wye is this charming, mid-terrace cottage, resting a stone’s throw away from the bustling town of Rhayader.

This heart-warming retreat is perfect for a couple or a small family looking to explore this part of Mid-Wales, with access to the Elan and Claerwen Valleys, offering a magnitude of walks and cycle routes.

After an action-packed day, or an afternoon enjoying the delights of the town be welcomed into this brightly decorated accommodation, boasting a contemporary design and carefully selected furnishings to ensure welcoming base to return to at the end of each day.

The designated chef of the group will be delighted to find a well-equipped kitchen, where the Range cooker takes centre stage before all of the other appliances required to whip up delicious home-cooked meals.

After dinner, relax into the evening curled up on the plush sofas and tune into the TV or enjoy the views further, whilst the warmth of the woodburning stove offers comfort during those chilly winter months.

If you are visiting during the summer months however, spend a moment or two within the enclosed yard, where you can relish in a spot of alfresco dining, whilst enjoying the soundtrack of the waterfall and the river and catching glimpses famous Red Kites soaring the skyline.

The property is completed by two well-presented bedrooms, comprising a king-size and a twin bedroom, as well as a spacious family bathroom with a shower over bath, basin and WC.

If you don’t feel like cooking one evening, a leisurely stroll will bring you to a selection of pubs and restaurants, as well as a choice of shops for picking up the essentials.

For those feeling active, venture to the Elan and Claerwen Valley, where you will find miles of walking routes amid breath-taking scenery, as well as cycling on the Elan Valley.

Other attractions within the area includes the superb Red Kite Feeding Station, Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and the town of Builth Wells.

Rhayader is a small Welsh market town with a selection of tea rooms, pubs, restaurants, amenities and unique little boutiques, including local antiques. An added bonus of a leisure centre with a large swimming pool and a weekly livestock market. The Red Kite Feeding Station, on the outskirts of the town is a great attraction not to be missed. Rhayader is the first town on the River Wye and is home to the spectacular dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen Valleys. The Elan Valley offers a variety of walks and cycle trails (cycle hire is available in Rhayader), as well as a visitor’s centre with café and children's play area. This area is known as the Wildlife Centre of Wales, with its amazing variety of nature reserves open for visitors to enjoy. There is also pony trekking available in the area. Visit Builth Wells, where the Spring Festival, Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and Winter Fair are all held annually. Alternatively, a scenic drive will take you to the Welsh coast 34 miles away.
