  • "I had a good clean outside, at back, when I arrived, in lean-to area…could do with a hose, or a cleaner who includes it !"

! So ok now for a while !! But much enjoyed, and very likely to book again….even off season. Everything included. Loved the sound of the water all night. Very relaxing. It could do with a sun awning in the little patio….we were baked…so why complain !! ? Good beds. Everything in kitchen. But could do with some hard pillows…too ! Knack for the shower boiling water….use the top shower. Seems to moderate the heat. !!

Parking was easy. Area is beautiful. Close to shops and walks from the door. Outside balcony overlooking the (noisy) water great, we loved it.

  • "While the front opened on to the pavement, the setting from the back was superb, fields, park, trees, river, mountain-delightful, though the lovely weather helped."

The field at the park was a mere 200 yards away which was excellent for our dog Molly to romp around in, and on the way, just 100 yards, is a pub/restaurant! Can't do much better than that! And the pretty little town is only a short walk away too. We would definitely like to return

  • "Lovely cottage with everything you need for a holiday in Rhayader."

Having the river below was beautiful and especially seeing how the amount of water increased after the rain.Even without a garden it is easy to have a dog here as the local park is only a few meters away. The local historic pub is really close too, it was a shame that it wasn't open but perhaps that means we shall have to return!

  • "Lovely, well-equipped cottage overlooking the River Wye."

There was no back garden as such to let the dog run about but plenty of plenty of local walks for exercise. The location was very central for visiting local towns and attractions and only a short drive (or longer walk) to the fabulous Elan Valley. Ryaeadr itself is quite an interesting town with sufficient facilities. Stunning scenery (typical Wales) all around. Fortunately, the weather proved to be a lot better than we expected.

  • "We stayed in this property in the middle of August and didn't realise how noisy the River Wye would be in full spate going past."

The noise was tremendous especially for people who don't live somewhere noisy. There was some road traffic but not much. It was very easy to walk up to the shops, pubs etc., and going for a walk away from the roads was also good. On the downside as it was right next to the river there was no garden and if you were looking for peace and quiet this is not it. I would have liked more oven proof dishes in the kitchen e.g. small enough for a meal for 2 and a mixing bowl would have been a plus.

  • "A lovely cottage with everything we needed."

In a beautiful town and surrounding area. Just what we needed. Views were amazing! The outside area was great to sit out on an evening. The cottage is brilliant and the outside area just needs a bit of a spruce up to make it perfect. We loved our stay thanks!

Great park and walks nearby for the dog and close enough to two dog friendly pubs, the Lamb and Flag and the Elan Hotel both of which served lovely meals.

  • "Very dog friendly cottage."

The owner (Jess) supplied towels, dog bowls, poo bags and a poo bin and for us, milk, Welsh cakes, tea, coffee and sugar. The cottage was fitted out to a very high standard, plenty of crockery, utensils etc. Comfortable, warm and the views were fantastic. The town had all the amenities you could want and within a very short walk. Red Kite feeding station about a 25 minute walk. Lots of walks, short and long nearby and the park was a bonus for our dog and only a few minutes from the cottage. We only used the car once and that was to visit the Elan Valley Reservoir which was a short drive away. Would recommend and will definitely consider again for a winter stay.

From the moment we stepped through the door we had a lovely holiday. The cottage is really equipped with everything you need and is very clean. The added touch of providing tea, coffee, milk and welsh cakes was very much appreciated. We loved sitting outside just watching and listening to the waterfall, you can't ask for anything more! Our little dog loved the area, especially the park just around the corner. We were very lucky with the weather and we went out every day to explore the countryside. Watching the red kite feeding at Gigrin was amazing! Also the reservoirs and dams in the Elan Valley were spectacular. We finished off with a day on the beach at Aberystwyth - perfect.

  • "The cottage was beautifully furnished and decorated and very accessible to the local park, so great for Daisy Dog to have a walk morning and evening."

The "garden" was really a balcony, but safe and with fantastic views. The provision of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and Welsh cakes was very welcoming. The power shower was a bonus. We could walk to the shops or pubs, and did the Riverside Walk from the cottage; we also went to Elan Valley and walked a mile to the bridge then back to the car. Everything went very smoothly, and Jessica (the owner) called in and was very helpful. Parking immediately in front of the cottage was fine, even though we had travelled separately, so had two cars. The only problem was the noise - from the waterfall! Still, a pleasant way to fall asleep after all the walking, so can't complain. Three days of relaxation. We will be back. Thanks Sykes.
