  • "Excellent compact cottage, everything you need for a brilliant break away."

The owners and their family were so helpful, the cottage was spotlessly clean and there was a lovely welcome package including flowers on our arrival. There are lots of small and thoughtful details that make your stay ‘home away from home’ e.g. extra food compost bags, spare hand soap and enough dishwasher tablets for a week, such a rare find in a holiday let! We did lots of walks from the door or from a short drive away. Would highly recommend.

Very peaceful ideal place to get away from it all. Very clean & welcoming with fresh flowers on arrival, enjoyed our stay at The Stable.

  • "Bed was excellent."

No tea towels to do the drying up yet fresh flowers on the table. TV package would be significantly improved with an upgrade. But a good quality package altogether.

  • "The Stable is a beautiful cottage."

Small but beautifully designed and furnished. Gorgeous bedroom with armchairs where I could sit and read overlooking the hills when my husband watched the football. The small garden area is a sun trap and a lovely place to have a leisurely breakfast. Due to Covid there were no instructions/information leaflets in the cottage so I had to ring the owner to find out how to use the induction hob! Owners were very helpful and welcoming and there was milk in the fridge when we arrived. Lovely walks in the surrounding area. A peaceful and comfortable place to unwind which was just what we needed.

.... a compact and comfortable base from which to walk and explore the local area. The owners who lived nearby were extremely helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it.

  • "This is a small but attractive cottage situated in a beautiful area, with walking and cycling possible from the door."

Since local pubs/restaurants are just emerging from lockdown we did a lot of cooking at the cottage. The facilities are of a good standard and worked well, though the range of implements and cutlery isn't huge. As part of the COVID measures no paper materials were provided on site (though extensive notes were provided by email beforehand). The owner's father-in-law (?) lives in the adjoining cottage and has an extensive knowledge of the area - particularly if you want to walk in less frequented areas.

  • "We had a fantastic stay at The Stable, Dyffryn Farm."

The cottage was spotlessly clean, comfortable and superbly equipped we really couldn't have asked for more. We went for the walking and to get away from our urban life and felt really lucky to have found such a beautiful and unspoilt area. The host, Alinda, was super helpful. We have no hesitation in recommending this holiday let.

Very comfortable accommodation. Beautiful views from the bedroom. Not far to the shops, cycle tracks or walks. Many thanks to the Tyler family.

  • "The Stable is situated on a quite country lane, which makes it idea for walking the dogs."

On arrival the property was immaculately clean, the owners had even supplied additional cleaning products as well as a small welcome pack of Welsh cakes, teabag's and coffee. The small garden has wonderful views of the Welsh country side. Rhayader and the Elan valley are a short drive away and is a wonderful part of Wales, the coast is about a hours drive so within easy reach. The Red Kite feeding station is well worth a visiting, we spend a wonderful week at The Stable. A plus point is that the owners live in the adjoining property so if you have a problem they are on site to help, our stay was problem free and I would recommend this property.

I tend to fill a box with items like sharp knives, tin opener, peeler and many other items just to be sure I can cook a basic meal. I had no need to use my equipment in this cottage. First time ever and i’ Retired!

  • "The Stable was the perfect holiday cottage for us."

It was spotless and equipped with everything you could need and the decor and furnishings were excellent. There was also a little garden where we could sit for breakfast when the sun came out, and relax in the evening outside with our dog. The owner, Alinda, and her family were very friendly and told us of lots of walks in the area and to the beautiful Elan Valley... and the eggs from Alinda’s chickens were a real breakfast treat. We would highly recommend The Stable and hope to make a return trip soon.

  • "We had a lovely time at The Stable in Llanwrthwl."

We knew we had chosen the perfect location on our very first evening. Due to extremely bad weather and terrible road conditions we arrived in Llanwrthwl after dark and got lost. (The Stable is in a very rural location). We really were lost and in desperation rang Alindra - it was 9.40pm. Without any hesitation she asked us to look for a landmark and she came to find us! We were so grateful. Imagine our delight then when she lead us in to The Stable when we found milk in the fridge, a pack of Welsh cakes and a cosy welcoming 'stable'. It was extremely well equipped and very clean. Lovely. The accommodation itself was perfect. Just big enough for two and a dog....the garden is extremely secure. We enjoyed especially the easy chairs in the bedroom overlooking the Cambrian Hills, perfect for relaxing after a day out and about. The only thing to mention (and this is not a criticism just a warning!). There are a couple of low beams to look out for - they add to the charm of the property of course but just remember to 'duck!' I really cannot recommend this converted stable enough. We left with a heavy heart but with half a dozen freshly laid eggs and some homemade apple juice. Perfect.

  • "This cottage exceeded our expectations by far, it is so well equipped for a holiday cottage it was like being at home."

When we arrived there was milk in the fridge and a lovely pack of welsh cakes waiting for us. The hosts and their family were extremely welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area and mid Wales generally, we had some great days out based on their recommendations. The Hafod Estate and Borth are a must but are about 32 miles away nearer Aberystwyth. The cottage is situated just outside Rhayader , a few miles from the Elan Valley with amazing views and good local walks. There are plenty of places to eat in Rhayader, the Mirchi Indian is particularly good, the Lamb and Flag does good food and happy hour! Most pubs in the area welcome dogs which was great. On the whole, an excellent holiday. We will definitely be returning - thank you for the gift when we left, we will be enjoying the home pressed apple juice with our breakfast on Sunday morning whilst talking about what a wonderful time we had . Thank you

Host is lovely, very warm and welcoming. You are left to enjoy the holiday whilst knowing should you need anything you can just ask without feeling like its any bother. Ideal if you have a dog as the garden is enclosed. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice break in an ideal location.

Perfect hosts and family on call as and when you need them, so you can be as private as you like. Lovely walk into Rhayader through the countryside over the river takes about an hour and there you are greeted with lovely pubs, Cafe's and little shops and of course friendly locals . Couldn't ask for a better stay. And if you like you are a 10 minute walk from the bus stop which gets you out and about
