Step into the open-plan living space and discover a homely setting, with an exposed stone wall to one end which houses the fireplace and woodburning stove, you can wind down on the plush seating before the fire, with a TV to watch too, there's also a sofa bed for any additional guests.

A neat fitted kitchen space has everything you need to make some tasty home-cooked meals, including an electric oven and two-ring hob, microwave and fridge, with further appliances including a freezer and a washing machine found in the ground-floor shower room.

Dine at the stylish dining table and chairs or delight in making the most of the sunny weather in summer and dine alfresco on your own patio next to the hot tub, afterwards taking a dip in the bubbling hot waters as the sun goes down.

Follow the stairs up to the mezzanine first-floor level to find the lovely double bedroom, with a snug feel up in the apex eaves, while the sofa bed in the sitting area provides a sleeping spot for two more guests.

Venture out to the nearby town of Rhayader for anything you may need, from supermarkets for ingredients, cafés and tearooms for afternoon treats, to delicious pub grub and well-deserved drinks following a day of walking, Rhayader can cater to you.

The Rhayader Tunnel Nature Reserve is perfect for a local walk while exploring the town, whilst the popular attraction of Red Kite Feeding Centre at Gigrin Farm is a must-see, set on a 160-acre working farm, you can witness hundreds of Red Kites feed there everyday creating a breath-taking spectacle for any nature lover!

Discover the wonderful Elan Valley for amazing scenery and some clever engineering in the form of several dams, reservoirs and a 73-mile aqueduct, all built a hundred years ago and home to vibrant flora and fauna, set within the stunning Welsh landscape.

There are many walks and trails to follow in the Elan Valley, with many varying levels of difficulty so there'll be something to suit every group, as well as cycling opportunities too with bike hire available from the Visitor Centre via prior arrangement.

The Elan Valley and the Cambrian Mountains have earned International Dark Sky Park status, so it's a perfect place to enjoy the awe-inspiring night skies filled with stars, a unique activity on your fun-filled stay.

About the location

RHAYADER

Llandrindod Wells 10 miles; Aberystwyth 34 miles.

Rhayader is a small Welsh market town with a selection of tea rooms, pubs, restaurants, amenities and unique little boutiques, including local antiques. An added bonus of a leisure centre with a large swimming pool and a weekly livestock market. The Red Kite Feeding Station, on the outskirts of the town is a great attraction not to be missed. Rhayader is the first town on the River Wye and is home to the spectacular dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen Valleys. The Elan Valley offers a variety of walks and cycle trails (cycle hire is available in Rhayader), as well as a visitor’s centre with café and children's play area. This area is known as the Wildlife Centre of Wales, with its amazing variety of nature reserves open for visitors to enjoy. There is also pony trekking available in the area. Visit Builth Wells, where the Spring Festival, Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and Winter Fair are all held annually. Alternatively, a scenic drive will take you to the Welsh coast 34 miles away.
