Great facilities. A lovely relaxed week. Reviewed by Mike5.0★May 2023 "A great week in a comfortable cozy cottage with character." The only drawback is the iffy mobile signal and wifi. This seems pretty general in Shropshire and will be an advantage to some who want to get away from the phone. For us, the local pub's fast wifi was one answer to catch up if necessary; another is to take with you a mobile data gadget to connect to the internet; and the best answer is to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We shall be going again. Thank you - we had a lovely time. Reviewed by Michael3.8★Apr 2023 "We had a lovely week at this property." It is a fabulous holiday let, very clean and well equipped with a lovely outside seating area and the balcony was great for a morning cuppa in the sunshine. The flexibility of having single beds suited us as a group of four friends. Really friendly owners and the welcoming milk and wine were much appreciated as were the flowers on the kitchen table. The only major criticism is the Wi-Fi. In the cottage instructions it says the signal is weak, that is an understatement, we were unable to connect to it, so it was no use to us at all. There was also limited phone signal. If you want to get away from it all then it is an ideal place, possibly it should not be advertised as having Wi-Fi when in reality it doesn’t. Flies were also an issue, we had lovely weather so had doors and windows open, we were constantly swatting flies in the kitchen (with my own fly swat) so possibly some fly spray or a swatter could be provided. Other than that have no hesitation in recommending this property. Reviewed by Claire5.0★Aug 2022 "Extremely clean and well presented property, it had everything you need for a great holiday." Staying here made our first holiday and reunion with our parents after 12 long months all the more wonderful! The cleanliness, having separate properties for both families and all having en-suite’s made us feel so at ease to be able to relax while still under some covid restrictions. The standard of furnishings at the properties were exceptional and it had more equipment than you could possibly need! On arrival we found a thoughtful gift in the fridge along with a few food essentials. A lovely welcome! The outdoor patios and balcony with seating and BBQ’s were fantastic to be able to enjoy what was the hottest week of the year! The surrounding views and fields were beautiful and gave the feel of a perfect escape. The owners were so friendly and were incredibly helpful, while not intruding, making them the perfect hosts. There is plenty to do for all ages in the surrounding areas and we would definitely visit and stay again to explore more! Reviewed by Leanne5.0★Jul 2021 "Gorgeous cottage, lovely area." It was really good that both bedrooms were of an equally high standard with plenty of storage. The whole property was furnished to a very high level and our stay certainly felt like a "home from home". It was great to have the option of either sitting in the private garden or in the green open space next to the cottage. We enjoyed visiting Pistyll Rhaeadr, a stunning waterfall in the Berwyn Mountains, a number of National Trust properties and were fortunate to also be able to do some really stunning walks including visiting Llanymynech Rocks Nature Reserve and also the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Excellent all round! Reviewed by Diane5.0★Jun 2021 "It was the perfect getaway!" It was lovely and quiet, peaceful and isolated but was also a great location for exploring the area. Such a friendly welcome from the owners Matt & Cheryl, Who also live on the site. They let you know they are available should you need anything. But are not intrusive in any way. It was actually comforting to know the owners were close by should any issues arise, happy to say there were no issues. Barns have been beautifully converted with the original beams and character retained. Welcome pack with all the nessesities to get you started was lovely to find. Even a vase of fresh flowers. Comfortable super king sized beds with lovely quality cotton bedding and fluffy towels. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the pans and glasses you would need. Even managed to cooked a roast diner with all the trimmings and didn't run out of pots/oven trays. Really pleasant kitchen to cook and eat in. There is a balcony on the side of the house which i have sat on nearly everyday with a coffee in the morning or there is a table/chairs out in the garden. Living room has a selection of games, dvds & books too. Very warm & cosy of a night time. Very peaceful location with lots of fascinating places to explore and only all only a short drive away too. Cows and sheep can been seen from the property on the neighbouring farms. Took some fantastic pictures of surrounding area and managed to get some amazing sunset shots too. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend 'The Stables' or if you are after an extra bedroom the owners 2nd barn next door called 'The Hayloft' is a 3 bed which is slightly larger would be a fantastic choice too.
