“Family holiday”

We stayed here as a family of 4 and enjoyed every minute. Accommodation is lovely and modern and well maintained. Everything you need for day to day living is provided from toilet and kitchen roll, tea towels, washing up liquid and powder, eggs, tea, coffee and milk, the list could go on. We will highly recommend to family and friends and we look forward to returning in the near future.

The Hosts, The Cabin itself which was well equipped with all that we needed, the hot tub was a big hit with our children. The information to guide us where to go, we were blessed with Lush weather, have recommended it to a lot already. Will definetly plan to go again. Didnt want to leave as we were having such a nice family holiday.

“First of all the post code is not accurate as it did not direct us to the destination.”

Luckily the landlord kindly waited for us on the main road, but accurate post code will definitely help. Secondly even though the cottage is very nicely built with good facilities and decent decorations inside, we have been so annoyed by millions of flies in the property non stop! you cannot literally leave your mug or plate out of your sight, flies are everywhere which is very frustrating and not relaxing at all.... we have never seen so many flies in our life. we could not sleep well as flies would land on your face while sleeping and we were woken up by flies! Also cooking has been made very stressful as you had to cover everything up or kept washing mugs or plates. Because of the hygiene problem our toddlers suffered from diarrhoea from the very second day which left us very unpleasant trip experience after all.... Thirdly the landlord himself is very friendly and he also provided milk and eggs from his kindness. But because of the flies situation, we don't think this property is suitable for rental due to its been not residential friendly and its hygiene problem! These issues should be addressed or at least mentioned in the listing for other visitors especially families with young persons to consider.

“Lovely birthday weekend away”

Came here for my husband's birthday with friends. As we have had terrible experiences in the past with other log cabins / cottages we have stayed in. We were very wary...but caban dulas was everything we expected plus more! Absolutely amazing. The cabin is beautiful. Decorated to a great standard. Facilities were second to none. Steve was extremely laid back & friendly & nothing was too much trouble. Loads of places to visit nearby. Can't wait to return with the family

“Well equipped, clean and peaceful location”

Stayed for a girlie holiday. Hot tub was fab and well used. Cabin is very well equipped, clean and well presented. Lovely gift basket left by owners was an appreciated touch. Cabin slightly tight for 6 adults, but had ample parking and a lovely large garden which was private with nice views. No WiFi which was a shame and the TVs didn't work as we couldn't get any channels to work. But we were there to catch up, hot tub and play board games! Arrival process was a bit clunky and there was no info provided about check out which resulted in us having to call the owner on a Sunday morning to be able to get out the electric gate to leave. Would recommend for a small family or 2 couples as a quiet and well equipped and looked after retreat.

“Amazing”

We booked a week break and had no idea what to expect. The cabin was beautiful, well equipped, clean and stylish. The area is gorgeous lots of stunning scenery, and plenty of places to visit. The Elan Valley is well worth a trip, we would definitely recommend it.

About the location

RHAYADER

Llandrindod Wells 10 miles; Aberystwyth 34 miles.

Rhayader is a small Welsh market town with a selection of tea rooms, pubs, restaurants, amenities and unique little boutiques, including local antiques. An added bonus of a leisure centre with a large swimming pool and a weekly livestock market. The Red Kite Feeding Station, on the outskirts of the town is a great attraction not to be missed. Rhayader is the first town on the River Wye and is home to the spectacular dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen Valleys. The Elan Valley offers a variety of walks and cycle trails (cycle hire is available in Rhayader), as well as a visitor’s centre with café and children's play area. This area is known as the Wildlife Centre of Wales, with its amazing variety of nature reserves open for visitors to enjoy. There is also pony trekking available in the area. Visit Builth Wells, where the Spring Festival, Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and Winter Fair are all held annually. Alternatively, a scenic drive will take you to the Welsh coast 34 miles away.
