  • "Just recently returned from a week at the potting shed, and wouldn’t normally leave feedback however on this occasion I felt the need as the accommodation was stunning, in an excellent location on the park with sea views."

The accommodation itself was very well presented with everything you could image, even the extra touches like pump soap in bathrooms, the folder with all the useful information and of course the board games available, there is plenty of room within the accommodation and the outdoor seating was excellent allowing us to soak up the sun. With the cleanliness of the accommodation it was excellent and would like you to pass on our thanks to the cleaner (s) for the excellent job they have done for you. Many thanks to the owners for the use of their accommodation and will certainly be recommending it and look forward to coming back in 2023 if not again later this year.

Thank you for choosing our accommodation and taking the time to write this review. We are so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. We will certainly pass your comments on to our cleaner, we really appreciate her and know we are lucky to have her. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back in the future. Better than expected and far exceeds the description. I took my eldelry mother for a short respite break but will revisit with my husband. It is a truely lovely place to stay.

  • "A lovely place which was spotlessly clean (complements to the cleaners), quite spacious with lovely views out to sea, well equipped kitchen and we were even left washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, and dishcloth, thank you, a helpful touch."

Everything worked well and without problem (switches on the wall for cooker ignition and microwave) The Bed was comfortable but a little too soft for our liking, but that's just personal preference, duvet and pillows cosy. New sofas since photo's taken which looked really nice and the decking furniture was very nice to sit out. Plenty of storage space and we particularly liked the bedside drawers in the room we used and the walk in closet too. We did find lots of people passing by as it was an end accommodation and a main holiday weekend, so it wasn't quite as private as places we usually book, but it was still very pleasant none the less. If you like to view a clock please pack one as we did miss seeing a clock face to keep on top of time as there wasn't one. Parking good for one car and the bins were nearby. If like myself you have a walking disability then beach access was quite a walk so we found it easier to drive into New Quay and sit on a bench on the harbour, although this is a little hilly and not always easy walking in places. Call and pre book if you wish to eat out as we found it difficult to get into anywhere for Sunday lunch. Fish and chips lovely on the harbour in New Quay though, and there is a pizza place and shop onsite. A pleasant stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to others, and somewhere we would return to if we were heading that way again.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay in our Lodge. We really appreciate you taking the time to write a review, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. Your comments regarding the cleanliness have been passed on to our cleaner, thank you. We also think a clock is needed it’s already on our list, great minds think alike! We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kind regards Bob and Sharon Property Owner

  • "The sea view was amazing."

The potting shed was bigger than we had envisaged, which was great for a family of 6. The rooms were immaculately clean. The beds were really comfortable too, meaning a great night's sleep. We will recommend this place and intend to stay again. Thanks for a great holiday.

  • "The Potting Shed was overall a nice place with good views."

The van inside was tired. The double bed linen was crumpled. It looked as if someone had slept in it the night before. The sheet had stains on it and the duvet cover was not ironed. The bath had mould all down one side. Not very healthy. The cooker hob had fat spray all over it. And the settees looked tired and grubby. When you pay top price for accommodation you expect it to be immaculate. I would defiantly NOT recommend to anyone.

Sykes Owner Relations Response- The property was visited on the 3/03/22 by a Sykes Property Consultant The Potting Shed was in good order and very well presented, we could find no cleanliness issues. Owners response -Hello Mrs Cotter, thank you for your feedback, as owners we need to be aware of anything that does not meet the required standards, and as we received no contact from you, we were unable to proactively address any concerns you may have had. In this case you were right to say that there was black mould on the bath, absolutely not acceptable, we rectified that straight away, thank you for bringing that to our attention. The bed linen was most definitely clean, however we have since found out it had not been ironed, this has also been rectified. Your comment regarding our lodge looking tired and the furniture grubby, we cannot agree with. Our suite had faded in areas where the sun had shone through, we are aware of this and had plans to change at the end of the season. There is nothing else in our lodge that looks grubby and tired. We took over ownership of the lodge in May, and we have worked hard to get it ready for this season. We are so sorry our lodge did not meet you expectations, we would be happy to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards Sharon and Robert with, neithe Property Owner

  • "Amazing place to stay - bigger than a caravan (great for space for the children/teenagers even though we only had two hours of rain during the whole week)."

Well equipped, plenty of plates/glasses etc. Decking was amazing - spent a lot of the week sitting outside with a drink, watching the sea. Clean and comfortable - would recommend. Easy to walk into New Quay (even easier to walk along the beach at low tide). Would certainly return.

Thank you for your feedback Mrs Cartlidge, we agree the view is amazing. We would love to welcome you back in the future. Many thanks Sharon and Robert Property Owner

  • "Excellent lodge."

It’s in a lovely position with sea views from the lounge. The kitchen has plenty of crockery and glassware. Everywhere very clean. Love the bedroom with the dressing room and en-suite shower. Made us feel really special. Having 4 and 2 yrs old with us disappointed that some activities for them were not available but they enjoyed the beach.

Thank you for your feedback Mrs Fish. We share your frustration at the lack of activities at the time of your stay, sorry that, that was out of our control. We are glad however that you enjoyed your stay in our lodge. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Many thanks Sharon and Robert Property Owner
