  • "We loved our stay at Wenallt!"

Bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and we really felt at home. Thank you for letting us stay!

  • "We all thought the house was immaculately clean."

All the bedrooms are generous in size and the number of bathrooms and loos were great for the size of our party. Downsides were the limited cookware , the difficulty in using the induction hob and oven, and the living room not accomodating the whole group. We weren’t supplied with cleaning materials and had to buy these in. The description of the property needs to spell out that additional parking is likely to cost money as there is only parking for two small vehicles at the house.

  • "Great location, house lovely and clean and well equipped."

The house was warm with plenty of hot water when everyone showered at once. Bedrooms are spacious. Owners very helpful with direct questions. Would definitely recommend Wenallt.

  • "The property is in a great location with plenty of amenities and good places to eat right in the village - everything within 5 minutes walk."

Dolgellau is also a great spot for accessing beaches, Barmouth, Fairbourne, The mountains, Mawddach trail and Estuary. We had 11 people staying in total and everyone had plenty of room. Its a shame really because the bedrooms are massive and offer way better space than the main living areas which were a bit cramped when everyone was together. The dining room is a bit dark and cramped and we used that for breakfast and a couple of dinners. I guess if you want super traditional, old, rustic it definitely fits the bill. The garden is small and we had drinks and food outside a couple of nights. We had read on previous reviews about the cleaning and cleanliness and for what it would take to sort this out and give guests a nice fresh, clean greeting would be worth the bit of extra effort. It was not very clean, not a family to complain we just got on with it. Same for the garden area, a bit of TLC and it could be wonderful. It's not easy to find a property for 12+ people so in that respect it completely hit the mark. Size, Location - great. A bit more elbow grease on the clean and it would be super. Overall we had a fantastic time in the area which really caters for all ages and we had 3 generations with us. Thanks

Thank you for your feedback. It is great to hear that overall you had a fantastic time. We feel the website shows the property layout clearly. We are sorry you feel it was cramped. You comments have been taken on board regarding the cleanliness and we actually now have a new cleaning team. We hope to welcome you back soon. Thank you. Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely place."

Would definitely recommend. Dolgellau is beautiful and the Wenallt property was lovely, clean and spacious enough for our party of 14. An excellent break all round

  • "The parking was very difficult to access and inadequate for 4 cars, this meant we had to park 2 cars in the pay and display car park, £10 a day, an unexpected additional £70 to the cost of the holiday."

The rooms were not configured to allow 10 to sit together, two separate living rooms. Cobwebs in the living room indicate that the cleaning regime needs reviewing. Heating was barely warm enough.

  • "Brilliant location for shops bars and restaurants house was really nice and supplied plenty of rooms for everyone to be together or chill out."

Plenty of plates and cutlery for everyone. seating in the garden was good and totally enclosed so our dog was safe to be let out. We had a brilliant week with plenty to explore near by

Once we had cleaned it the location and house was brilliant.

  • "Despite shockingly poor weather we had a wonderful stay at Wenallt."

The house is comfortable and extremely well kitted out for large groups. We had an issue with the heating when we arrived as the house was so cold and the radiators ( especially those on the second floor) were hardly functioning. One phone call to the management team though and we got it sorted. The electric fires were a godsend later in the evening when the heating was scheduled to go off. Many rental homes are basic with cheap furniture and furnishings but Wenallt was really a home from home. Even down to the quality of the crockery and cutlery. Very impressive. Just beware of the recycling requirements in Wales - they really are very strict. It's far easier to sort as you go along than have to catch up with yourself at the end of the holiday! We would definitely stay here again and I can't recommend the property highly enough. We were a party of nine and there was ample space so we weren't crowding each other at any time.

Facilities really good. Lots of hot water. Kitchen new and well kitted out . Comfortable beds Would have been good to have a real fire.

  • "This is a lovely, big house in the centre of Dolgellau, so well placed for shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants as well as for walking and cycling."

It was perfect for our intergenerational group of 12 adults and one child, with space to spare for other members of the family who called in during the day. The rooms are of a good size and configuration, making it possible for several family groups to do different things; and, although we were lucky with the weather, there is plenty of space for wet weather activities. Our only niggles would be: - the beds are very creaky, disturbing some peoples' sleep - the fridge is far too small for the number of people stayin - just one cafetiere proved inadequate for 12 adults - providing only one tea towel and one bin-bag, 5 dishwasher tablets, and few toilet rolls seemed mean That aside, we would stay again!
