  • “Beautiful house which looks out across fields and hills and is really isolated, just what we were hoping for.”

We arrived at about 10:30 on a Friday night, it was very dark and wet. Alarmingly sat nav told us we'd arrived when we were in the middle of nowhere on a single track road with nowhere to turn around. The owner had helpfully told me to lookout for a blue digger and pond on the edge of the drive (the house not being visible from the road), which thankfully came into view just around the next corner. I should have had more faith, the What Three Words we were given by the owner worked perfectly! We did a click and collect for shopping on the way and I would advise getting at least some basics (tea bags, milk etc) on the way in as there was nothing at all in the house on arrival, presumably a COVID precaution. The house was lovely, it smelled and looked really clean and was well maintained, it had everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen had a small freestanding freezer too which was a bonus because I don't think this was mentioned in the details. Quite a few books and puzzles/games for wet days or just staying in of an evening. Plenty of walking in the area for us to tackle but footpaths were sometimes a bit tricky to follow on the ground with numerous farm gates being tied shut or barbed wire along them (watch your waterproofs!). There are numerous places to eat, most are a good 30 mins + away by car though. We tried a few places, but would thoroughly recommend The Lime Kiln near Oswestry, very welcoming and the food was lovely with a good range of veggie options too. All in all a lovely relaxing week in a lovely house, thank you!
