We chose to stay inland so we could get the best of both worlds and this cottage did not disappoint. This cottage is perfect for days at the beach (Cottage to beach in less than half an hour) whilst offering the peace and tranquillity of the countryside. Even during the Easter bank holiday we encountered no traffic and had the roads to ourselves. We had left it last minute to book and despite this being Easter the Cottage was excellent value for money. We were met by the lovely attentive owners who live in the farm behind the cottages. Parking right outside which made it easy to load and unload. What we liked about this place was the cottages themselves are based at the front of the farm with lots of outside space and secure dog exercise / walking area. I say farm loosely because the animals have mainly rescued and brought back to health which only adds to the visitors’ sense of well-being. The cottage itself is well equipped, very clean and comfortable which was a massive plus. The shower is excellent as was the Wifi. The cottages are absolutely perfect for couples wanting a quiet retreat, great for small families. Perhaps rent both for a real family get together. There is even use of a BBQ and outdoor seating area. The views are breath taking so cameras at the ready for wildlife and sunrise shots. The town of Lampeter is just a stone throws away and has many shops, pubs etc. However, we spent most days visiting the many beautiful beaches. Possibly the closest is the stunning New Quay with its harbour with its shops, pubs and restaurants. I had taken this holiday to specifically see marine life and dolphins could be seen from the harbour walls. We took a trip out with New Quay Boat Trips, they allowed our dog to join us and the on-board tour guide had specialist marine knowledge. Whilst not guaranteed we did see more dolphins and a cheeky little seal. The beaches are fantastic. There are plenty of places to walk the dog on the beach, as well as dog free zones during high season. Further down the coast Aberporth and Tresaith beaches are equally as beautiful to visit. We walked on the costal path from one to the other as they are only a mile or so apart. Poppit Sands just outside Cardigan is also a really lovely stretch of beach on the estuary and when the tide is out is well worth viewing the expanse of sand. On the way home we stopped off at Devils Bridge Falls located within the Cambrian Mountains. You get to the waterfalls via a nature trail with a notable descent one way and then the only way is up to get back where you started so make sure you have had your Weetabix. A really brilliant stay, thank you Robert and Sharon, we will back!

This semi-detached barn conversion is situated on the owner's smallholding of Cefn Bryn Farm just two miles from Lampeter, offering stunning views over surrounding farmland and countryside.

Ideal for couples, families or friends looking for a quiet, rural retreat and lots of long walks with the dog.

A patio door entrance way opens onto an open plan living and dining area with a wooden dining table and chairs and comfortable sofas ideal for relaxing on at the end of a long day exploring the area.

This is the ideal spot for a couple to get away from it all for a romantic retreat, or couples or families with children who are likely to be intrigued by the owners' sheep in the adjacent fields.

The nearby university town of Lampeter offers a variety of pubs, shops and restaurants, but this area of west Wales is also the perfect spot to visit for outdoor activities.

Canoeing and kayaking expeditions are run by Llandysul Paddlers on the river Teifi in the town of Llandysul, which is roughly a 20-minute drive from the cottage.

The beautiful shingle and sand beaches at Aberaeron and Llanrhystud are also only 25 minutes away by car and perfect for walking on all year round.

Cefn Bryn Cottage is the perfect place for anyone who loves the outdoors and wants a rural base from which to explore it.
