  • "The place was everything that you would you expect and more."

It was very clean, tidy and very very spacious and wendy was there for us when we got lost trying to find the barn. Will definitely go back and stay there in future.

  • "We had a lovely week at The Barn."

The barn is comfortable and in a good position for exploring. The area is simply stunning. It’s a bit odd pandemic-wise as there’s so much we couldn’t do. We really wanted to hire bike from Rhayader for example. However we had some amazing walks and we even drove to Cardiff for a spot of retail therapy. Six of us travelled and a dog and everyone loved our break.

  • "The owners are excellent."

Very hospitable. Property beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. So quiet and peaceful and little noise from the farm, which was surprising. Everyone felt so at home it was so relaxing. Would definitely consider staying again and have already recommended to friends and colleagues.

  • "Excellent. Really spacious and well done place with everything you need for a comfortable stay."

In a lovely area and situated on a working sheep farm, so we got to see lots of lambs this time of year. Also chickens, goats and friendly dogs so always something to look at! Would definitely recommend!

  • "The beautifully spacious barn is attached (by adjoining locked doors, in the hall downstairs and the main bedroom upstairs) to the owners barn, though the family could be heard it wasn’t too intrusive- just a surprise."

The location along a very long drive was very quiet apart from the expected farmland noises which added to its charm, the pigmy goats were a delight to watch! The family were very friendly and helpful as they went about their sheep farming duties. It was a very relaxing place looked after nicely. Recommendations that I could make, a splash back behind the hob, (would avoid cooking splash marks on the wall). Recycling bins, there was no method to recycle rubbish only one bin. Would we return? Most definitely particularly if we had the same exceptional weather!

  • "Our stay at The Barn was perfect."

Everything we had hoped for and just as described and photographed on the Skyes website. Wendy the owner was there to meet us on arrival and explain anything that was needed and said if we need anything, she is just a knock away or text message. Wendy always responded to text messages and although we didn't really need anything much, when we did, she was on hand to reply or help straight away. The Barn itself was clean tidy and very spacious and roomy. The beds were comfortable with plenty of storage in each bedroom. The kids all had their own spaces. The living area is very spacious and with a family of 5, this was perfect for space for all the stuff that the kids come with. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking or if you fancy bringing a takeaway home from Llandrindod, there is everything you need for a comfortable home from home feel, with a lovely extendable dining table and cosy dining chairs. The large patio door opens onto a lovely garden, with a fence around it and views of the farm and fields, this is most perfect if you want to get away from city life and is exactly what I was hoping for. Outside you have chickens hens ducks a couple of adorable dogs and all the things that make up a working farm. In terms of location, there is everything you need just a short car journey away and the Brecon Beacons are just a short car journey away too, well worth a walk up Pen-Y-Fan. The Barn is equipped with WiFi and SKY TV that all work fine. On one occasion, the modem needed a reset which Wendy did and it was fine straight away. If I was planning another trip in the same area, this would be my choice to stay again, and we hope for exactly that.

  • "The Barn was everything and more, than we had even hoped for !"

Large, comfortable, clean, tidy and a very relaxing environment. Our hosts were so welcoming and faultless with the amenities that they provided. Beautiful views of the countryside, sheep, calves, ducks and gorgeous friendly sheepdogs. The fully enclosed rear garden was additional peace of mind for us as our little dog was secure in his own space. Would revisit in a heart beat, and would book a longer stay next time. 10 out of 10 from all of us.
